Echoing Void over nerfed?

remember i said “feel”. I have no maths, or so. I.e. I just did for this mornings boredom alliance gold emissaries (read: just logged trough my alt army). My 2 warriors have shield with wounds, my paladin has shield with wounds… which makes me think … wounds … it appears on shields a lot. Is it why it feels rare if only 2 tank classes have easier access to it ?

As far as i know there are no item specificities aside from the raid dropped weapons. Looks like you just got increadibly lucky.

I do not believe I am just lucky, but who knows. In overall I am one of those who believes corruption system should have targetable (is this even English word?) corruptions and items. I.e. like some raid items are. I believe there should be more items and more … whats the word… reward player persistence.

My monk did not think much of the Echoing void and she runs around with void ritual untill she gets something actually useful. Main stat is survivability and dps gain that can be measured. I still wait for TD. or even stars or anything else that actually can be felt.

I, personally, am completely dumbfounded by the removel of an RNG System because people hated the RNG of it just to then replace it with an even more impactfull RNG system. It’s an amazingly condensed form of stupidity that’s completely shooting past me and almost turns back around to be amazing. almost.

It’s utterly idiotic to introduce a system into the game where a single effect of a single item can be responsible for 30+% of your overall damage. Just look at the top logs. the “best” dps in the world right now simply have lucky pulls where their IS stacked up quickly.

I was one of the more lucky ones that got EV early on on my DK. And sure it does considerably less dmg since the nerf, but it is still what does most of my damage in any given situation. So to get back to the OP, no it wasn’t overnerfed. If anything, the other ones are WAY too powerful.

nods Exactly my thoughts. Just this targetable thought i have had just because the system exists, and on its own it is fun, when there are various typed items in the game. But the problem is exactly that amount of numbers it contributes. Or more likely - some of those corruptions contribute. Like we discussed in other thread. On last alt raid (sunday, HC) ~ 15% of my damage was stars. And looking at logs in general- most of my damage was passives, making 1st active player actively maintained spell just 7% of all damage done, and basic melee bit under 6%

Corruptions really highlight a serious design flaw in my books.

Not really. We’ve seen PvP Specific nerfs before. Hell, there’s a handfull on the way right now.

The problem lies with Encounter- and Dungeon Design. Do you design the Encounters with EV in mind? That would make it near-unbeatable for people without it. And given that it’s an RNG system whether or not you get it, that’s obviously not a solution.
Change the system to be deterministic? Hah yeah right, that’s gonna happen in BfA.
So Design it around not having it? Well, that would lead to an unfair advantage for those who do have it. So that’s a solid no too, leaving only one solution. Nerf EV.

And yet, people can’t stop whining and moaning about it. Not you personally, I’m speaking in general terms. There are several alternatives out there. Strong alternatives. TD does insane damage in M+, IS does so much damage to raidbosses, it borders on self-parody.

Maybe there’s a lesson here. Instead of pumping millions of gold into an effect that is SO broken that it allowed tanks to not just outdamage dps but dwarf them that the nerf wasn’t just likely, it was an inevitability. The writing was on the wall with EV. The second you see a Tank do double the amount of damage than a dps, that sh*t is gonna get fixed. Fast and hard.
If people had just stopped and thought about if for a second, they would have known, not just guessed but known that this was gonna happen.

But no, EV was the broken one. So everyone got the broken one. Then it got fixed. And the Floodgates opened. “Waaaah i got neeeerfed. Blizz suuuuucks.”

Like where exactly? In 1v1? In aoe? Have u met tank that killed u in 3sec? Or u met tank that killed you over 3 minuts cuz u wasnt able to kill him?

And when did this happen? Cuz of people like you every tank spec was nerfed to ground in pvp + nerf for all tanks across board. So u dont have to worry anymore

But things are getting buffed did you read the note?
They are not only nerfing they are buffing and nerfing.

For the same reason you want buffs to everything EV was and still is consistant as all heck and EV also cost very little corruption budget.

Nothing is ever balanced but at least they are trying they could go that route that you ask for but it is more work And it means numbers will Always go up no matter what.
And it would results in the SAME THING as nerfing 1 corruption.

The difference would be instead of nerfing 1 they have to buff all the others.
But the result at the end would be the same the only difference is that with one you keep numbers close to what they already are and the other you increase it this in turn would mean they either have to buff raids dungeons and so on or people will have an easier time in them.

What is it that you precisely want from the buff and never nerf?
