Usually i start in Feralas and then move to Tanaris for a while. Often there’s still some quests in STV i haven’t done in case i end up having orange quests only in my log.

tanaris its like SVT 2 with lots of gankers and then i can get noggenfogger q easier =) love kiill the pirates and the humans there

I’m cycling between Swamp, STV and Feralas, depending on how many people are grinding in these areas. (Which means, I barely do anything in STV in the end)
Feralas then tanaris with ZF, after that move to hinterlands.
I’m almost in the same boat as you (hunter level 42).
I’ve been shopping around a bit to find quests, Arathi, STV, Swamp of Sorrows.
But from your replies it sounds like Hinterlands and Feralas could be an option too. I just thought they were more 45-50 zones 
Feralas and Tanaris are perfect at that level.

Il just like to add after early 40 from stv,head to feralas,swamp,tanaris,feralas,tanaris…and went to azshara there quite good quest for 47lvl in azshara.At 49 going finnaly to hinterlands to finish my 50 in it.
Was about to map my 50-60 road going to try and stay away from wp,ep and searing.

Two thing to always keep on mind,what zones are heavelly pvp orinated
stv,tanaris.And what zones fit more to horde or alliance.Burning stepps and searing are quite good for alliance players,also badlands.
If your server is also heavy on number of players it can get annoying when to play even qith dinamic spawning…so many players
I tried Badlands but it’s so annoying to quest in. Tansris and feralas aren’t too bad even though it’s Horde area as long as you’re careful and don’t enable PVP somehow lol but yeah I’m definitely gonna do those two. Just checked map and those two areas has the most quests for 42-43+ so I assume good rewards and decent questing area
I farmed SM armory and cath until lvl 44 when I could quest in Tanaris and do Zul’Farrak. There were too many people on all the layers in STV so I gave up the entire zone, with the sole exception of Cortello’s Riddle.

Swamp was a quite good suprise for me its low zone on trafic and good quests.Alot of murlock,and kill 10 of these and that quest.But mostly not alot of players…same as with azshara.
Keep in mind zulfarak has 5 quests.One is the drop quest from tanaris you get,2 prequest to get to the zul farak part.For Ghazrila you need the malet from Hinterlands quest line esle you cant finish the quest.So try to get into a group with people having the malet.Zf is like 1/3 of the xp bar and it takes like 30min+the quests.
