ELI5: Melee cleave

So explain like I’m 5 years old. How do you get a smooth and fast melee cleave going? As a healer I have had a couple of issues that makes me doubt the effectiveness of melee cleaves:

*My BEST cleave so far was maybe 10-20% faster than a regular comp, and at least 10% slower than a regular comp with strong dps. My average cleave group have always been slower than my average normal comp. (not counting wipes)
*Aggressive pulling when I’m at low mana forces pot use to stay alive, and more water is wasted since I have to drink 6 sec here and there --> it gets kinda expensive.
*Warriors seems overly keen on pushing it too far and when I go oom we wipe.
*It’s generally more stressful to heal and therefore my risk of slipping up is increased as well.

Is it just a git gud thing or anyone had similar experiences?

From what I know, melee cleaves involve several melee classes cleaving as much as they can (Ravager is good here). With a pally healer, you could probably salv all but 1 dps to allow the last dps to tank all the mobs. I don’t participate in cleaves so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Like all zoomer metas, it’s rough on the healing yes. There’s no avoiding that if your guys are pulling lots of mobs. I guess just find a number of mobs that you can just about outheal and then stick to that for maximum efficiency.

seems like a bad healer problem

replace healer with priest and problems are solving

this happens when unexperienced people invite hybrids into their groups.

Maybe, but shamans should work I’ve heard? Maybe I just need more mana before the pull? Have you healed a melee cleave, what mana % do you go for?
