She’s worshipping the god that okay’d the genocide at Teldrassil.
I consider that more than just close to Baine’s level of… Baine.

As I said earlier, I don’t think Elune okayed the burning, as she referred to it as a tragedy.
The only thing to blame Elune for, is whether her aid was insufficient during said events (something that it’s still subject to debate given we don’t know how much could’ve she done about it), and the fact that her actual response was to make the best out of a bad situation instead of apparently working on fixing it.
And about whether this situation is comparable to Baine or the rest of instances that had some character suddenly putting aside what would’ve come as logical or just….id say that the only thing that differs is scale.
But that would come as expected given we are comparing a literal god with mortal leaders.
Okay, I get what you mean. This sort of spotlight is also very rarely seen in WoW tho.
They didn’t got anything.
I got nothing but amusement out of this. You can have the spotlight you’re requesting if you want to. I surely wanna see how low the story can fall after all.
You want more things like the Worgen heritage questlines? Go for it.
I honestly hope they give it.
I would be hyped knowing that the Forsaken would get exclusive questlines and content where they fight back their enemies, and have a few cinematics created to make them feel powerful and important after their major loss.
And then have an heroic arch that has a god of the afterlife, acknowledging how instrumental they are, how they are indeed his favoured ones, and how the narrative will be bent to help unmake their aggravations.
As I said earlier, I’d probably squeal like a little girl if the Forsaken were given a cinematic that had the Primus play the role the WQ or Elune had here.
Interesting if Tyrande will not going to get back to Hight Priestess of the Elune role, then who will lead that organization?
Also interesting does that means that Druids, Priestess and Night Warriors now will have main leading roles of their nation? So there will be third leader?
Could it be that in normal circumstances, Night Elves would become Wisps but when Teldrassil burned, Elune allowed them to pass to Shadowlands?
Genuinely good job on the writers to for once doing a good job with the whole “alien being, alien morals.”
That said, I want to end Elune now since her morals are clearly too alien to allow her continued existence.
Tyrande is still High Priestess, and she is the Night Warrior. The latter isn’t an official position in night elven society and Tyrande did not stop being a priestess once she became Night Warrior.
On top of that is there only one Night Warrior (Tyrande). The Army of the Black Moon may replace the Sentinel Army, or merge with it, but they aren’t a different section of night elven society.
So no, I don’t think there will be any changes in the Night elven hierarchy.
Blizzard must score PR points after the last PR apocalypse that was the lawsuit.
That’s……surprisingly interesting.
Didn’t think of that.
She behaves as I’d expect a God would.
Instead of feeling alien, I do feel like she is the first godly being that behaves as such.
The rest feel, in comparison, way to humanised.
Not children. The subjects she likes the most, that’s it.
Well of course Tyrande is her avatar right now, so this makes sense. I thought they will never use it. It’s only right and proper to use an avatar like an avatar.
It’s so bad. Elune allowed the butchering of the Night Elves because… magic dead land needed souls and she gave all of them to Zuvaal. Those writers lol.
Trolls have caring better gods. Yes SL is a joke for us, but it’s a joke for everyone.
So, basically, Sylvanas made Elune’s favourite children extra crispy, Elune popped up and decided to “send her favourite children” the right way (which makes no sense since that is the Aribtrer’s job) and for some reason thought she’d make Tyrande a “Night Warrior” to “avenge” something (making this a very strange MCU crossover, can’t imagine Tyrande as an Avenger).
Which begs the question, if the Night warrior is supposedly “summoned” when the Night elves are in dire need, why then did we go hunting for a horn to wake up the forest when Archimonde was busy humping the life out of the world tree on Hyjal? Would make more sense to call on this mystical warrior, given that Elune love her children so much.
I feel that Blizzard’s story telling is all over the place. They seem to think they’re making a good story, mystical and throwing just the right amount of “hints” through the narrative, but they’re not. Brandon Sanderson writes good stories like that, Raymond Feist and Stephen King as well. And in terms of MMOs, Blizzard is a toddler compared to FF14’s storytelling.
Shadowland’s story is just a mess. Which is only expected given that it’s a retconned pile of mess from the beginning. The premises of the entire story, is filled with plotholes and rests on a bed of stupid decisions made by powerful beings. Chief amongst them being this super smart Jailer character with a master plan, who decided that the smartest of moves was to get a whole bunch of people from Azeroth known for taking down Old Gods before breakfast, to server what ever purpose of his. Which everyone except the super smart Jailer can see is a terrible idea.
Meh. So, so.
After they turned De Other Side into some hellish torture chamber for Muehzala i’m not all that thrilled about how they treated what came as “troll gods”.
I really liked the cinematic!
So I’ll just share my loose thoughts.
The thematic of Blizzard’s story continues.
Life is hope and hope is Life.
That’s really it.
That’s the running theme of Sylvanas. It’s the running theme of Tyrande. It’s the running theme of Uther. And so on.
All the characters we follow in the Shadowlands represent hope. And hope is Life.
It goes all the way back to Legion where Argus kills us and Eonar says that hope is not lost, the flicker of life still sparks within these mortals.
Hope is Life.
Tyrande’s journey is a choice.
We’re presented with the other Night Warriors who we learn have all wielded Elune’s power to seek vengeance.
It is the Indiana Jones choice:
You have to choose Renewal. That is Life and Hope – Elune’s true power.
And in the end Tyrande makes the right choice and Ardenweald is back in business and hope is preserved. Hope that we can defeat Zovaal.
Wonderful story.
Beyond that I definitely think it all foreshadows and ultimately leads up to the next expansion, which I feel very strongly will be The Emerald Dream. And that’s super exciting to me.
Blizzard has been much better on burning, exploding, and sacking stuff in the world than renewing it. If they want to make a point about the value of renewal, I sure hope they will back it up with some renewal in the game world. Not holding my breath, though…
My own big brain theory is that The Emerald Dream represents that. It’s renewal. Life. Hope.
If something bad happens to Azeroth, then The Emerald Dream is the blueprint for remaking it.
There needs to be a hook for the next expansion and for going to The Emerald Dream. But if we just beat The Jailer, then there really isn’t.
He sort of has to win (there are various ways) and then the big showdown is between Life and Death and Life - hope - can prevail in the end.
But we’ll see. I don’t think the Shadowlands is the end of the story arc. It’s the calamity. The finale is the next expansion.
Oh gods, I’d really, really, really hate that, so you’re probably right…
I actually have a proven history of being consistently wrong about future expansions, because I always predict the next one to be The Emerald Dream. And it never is.
So the odds really aren’t in my favor.
Chances are that Bolvar will do a Thrall move and Kamehameha The Jailer into the Maelstrom, and then that’s that.
And then we do a Southern Seas expansion with pirates.
runs into wall to give himself a concussion so he can forget WOW exists post MoP
