Emeriss is not a bug

Emeriss, what a sad case and a very typical example for Blizzard team for the day. To kill her is not a challenge cause she has been created to screw you. There is no way you can avoid be killed by the dragon several time if you actually want to get near her and do damage. Your skill in the game counts nothing cause there is nothing you can do to avoid been killed by her. We were 40 and all the time half of the team was dead. After we killed her only 2 got an item!!! Really? And then there is the repair costs. It seems it is especially expensive to kill the originals. What I can’t understand why we consumers pay the salaries for game creators who seems to enjoy designing boss fights with ill will intentions against us consumers. I suggest the Blizzard game team designers invite their CEO to fight Emeriss. What will he think about it? Will his comment be; Oh this was fun or maybe this sucks?

Back in vanilla there werent many pure melee classes (remember, you had ALL spells available), so the problem now is exegerated. Additionally many are just not learning what went wrong and continue to fail forever.

Emeriss is a challenge, but not an insurmountable one. Consider this fight a test of not just your skill, but how well you react to setbacks. I died several times trying to down him the last time he was up, but I didn’t let it get to me and neither should you.

One piece of advice I can give you is to not fight him specced as Demonology, as all your demons will spawn a mushroom when they die. Considering us Demolocks are usually surrounded by squishy Imps, that’s not a good thing! :smirk:

Them dragons are the “classic” WoW they all want.

No it isn’t, sad attempt to try make classic look bad.

But just to clarify, those dragons are the funnest daily content BFA has to offer.

Did people really think she was bugged? In what way?

Classic makes itself look bad no worries.

Honestly? Probably because they kept dying and couldn’t think of a reason why except that something was broken as it obviously couldn’t be them needing to work around the mechanics or something. Oh, and since they aren’t getting a pile of loot at the end, that must be another bug!

Sarcasm aside, they just don’t realise that a World Boss from back in the day is very different from one that has been made with today’s mechanics in mind. Classic is going to break them…

I am genuinely curious to see how Classic is going to be received. When most of the things people complain about are inconvenience and grinds.

After a month or two we’ll see what the true interest is. I just hope I don’t end up on a dead server.

Its not making classic look bad. That is the way it was. It is just we have gotten used to having an easier time of it now.
I dont have any opinion on class really. I will give a go but I doubt that I will make a habit of it.
The only classic thing I wish they would bring back is the potion of petrification in its original form

Indeed. It’s going to be a rude awakening for many.

Hopefully Blizzard won’t overestimate how many servers they will need. It’s better to add servers if needed than deal with multiple virtual ghost towns.

I have to ask what is so difficult to: taunt after breath and move out when mushroomed?

It has mechanics. World bosses are supposed to be free loot.

Yep, these are some next level mechanics we got going on here! Better idea seems to be to drop all the mushrooms in the melee area cause you can’t be arsed to move out when about to die, and then blame Blizzard for the design of 13 year old boss :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Which reminds me of all these posts “vanilla was hard because people were bad. Today’s gamers will stomp over vanilla bosses!”

Except its true, vanilla boss mechanics are a joke compared to what we have today. There was nothing hard about vanilla mechanics-wise, the only hard part was enduring the grind.

Why are you quoting me? Am I at any point referencing complex mechanics? Unless you missed it, this thread is all about extremely simple vanilla style mechanics stomping over today’s amazing gamers :stuck_out_tongue:

Not a wise idea, his character is probably level 255 with item level 200000000 and hits for an average 233,273,392.00 so Emeriss would just die instantly.

Being serious, yeah this boss is BADLY designed, but if you are a Classic fan you should enjoy it.

My favorite of the nightmare dragons, just what a world boss should be.
Would be great with another Oondasta at some point!

Because it was your post, and because bosses are obviously about mechanics. Also, the topic is also about the terrible loot drop rates of those bosses that is similar to drop rates in vanilla.

Besides, you do realize not everyone who attempts those world bosses are raiders, right? Any guild who has normal difficulty of current raids on farm can and will stomp vanilla raids with their eyes closed. Again, their only roadblock would be the grindy nature of vanilla, like low drop rates and 2 pieces of loot dropping for 40 players.
