To be honest, if i could play from work my played time would skyrocket as well

I mean I just leave my wow open when I go afk to cook, shower, job etc so my /play time is probably much bigger than what i play in reality

There was a time when end-game was accessible to the more casual-gamer. People had the choice to not do overbearing questlines, or not do PvP/Dungeons/Raids. The game was theirs, to enjoy as they pleased. If someone did not want to do quests, they could completely avoid doing them and concentrate on Raids or just farming mobs or resources or PvP, or whatever they liked most.

it still is, i have a Full time job (40-50hours a week) and a girlfriend… and have no problem getting through the content of this game, not as a World first… but i manage to climb where i want to be at the end of each Patch.

With the latest patch, comes yet another overbearing questline, which players simply cannot avoid doing if they wish to do anything else worth-wile in the game. Yet another single item which requires endless hours of grinding, in order to give one’s character the best chance at success in any form of group activities. So we now have to level up 2 individual items, grind daily this and daily that, farm dungeons for BiS items, do a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and totally waste our game time on unenjoyable rubbish.

its a hour max, done once per character. “Casual Friendly” doesnt mean it needs to be accessible by 50 chars Per player in moments, most seem to miss the fact, the open world is ALOT Casual content… as Casual Players arent exactly frantically smashing their heads against raids.

I know blizzard do listen to players (contrary to the ever growing common myth). But sadly, the only voices they are hearing are those which say “Yes blizzard, please give us more overbearing questlines, more items which take all day and night away from me.” Blizzard are listening to the ones who have far too much time on their hands.

Well, here is the actual problem, meaning right here! (these forums). There was a time when One could come to these forums one day, and then never see the same players again on their next visit, even if they came back the next day. Now, you just see the exact same players in every single thread/topic. These players suck up to blizzard and the status-quo. They argue against any new ideas or suggestions from players who are not common faces in these message-boards. They hope to get “Green” or “Blue” poster status some day. Such a credit to the community they are. (sarcasm implied).

becuase forums are where u come to complain, and its the same players who had issue wit hthe game which still do.

The rest of the players, are either far too busy to come to these forums to complain or suggest changes, or they believe their voice will not be heard or listened to anyway.

What can Blizzard do about this?
Well for one thing they can completely scrap the rewards system which grants green poster status to players, and maintain/reserve higher forum ranks for STAFF members only.
/watch-out below for someone saying they can’t afford to and making thorough arguments for the Player glorification system lol/

What else Blizzard could do… and this would probably bring back the 6 MILLION PLAYERS who have stopped playing World of Warcraft over the past 5 to 10 years… Just simply tailor the game to suit the more casual player. Casual players make up the biggest majority of the player base.

the games pretty casual friendly, just Some seem to miss the entire point of a “MMORPG” Which is Some grinding elements to it. and the requirement to progress… also ALts have always been punishing realistically… once in vanilla it was how slow it was to relevel a char, now its how long it’ll take to regain the essences.

Stop forcing players to do overbearing questlines, and allow them to play the parts of the game they choose. Forcing players to do a little bit of every aspect of the game is killing the enjoyment and robbing players of their freedom.

its not a overbearing questline… its a 1 hour thing you have to do… and its the only thing u have to do, no redoing BFA Lands, no Redoing war campaign. 1hour on your alt character is basically the Below the minimum most games would have done.

Give us less things to do in the game! Let us have enough time each season to progress multiple characters, and finish the game on those characters. As it is, the majority of players do not have the time to invest in more than one single character, if they wish to get anywhere near the last boss on Heroic Mode Raiding, or anywhere near top end Mythic dungeons or PvP scoreboards.

if ur mythic raiding or doing +20 keys (which are the only places being behind the curve would really affect you) your not a casual player, your playing the game to a competitive level. and for those players YES there is alot more to do.

Why can we create 50 characters, if we are not even given enough time each season to progress 2 of them to end game?

50 chars is a max yes, but it doesnt mean the game has to cater to those who do 50 chars… rolling alts to some extent should be punishing… the concept of a MMORPG is progressing 1 char, not some form of LoL game which u choose a New hero every game.

If you want to make World of Warcraft great again , then you need to hear the players’ voices. You need them to have enough time to progress multiple characters, and enough time to come to these forums to voice their opinions of the game.

or maybe Just create classes properly with good design so we dont need 1000 Alts.

Also balance the game Stronger so we dont feel the pressure to reroll.

and Introduce enough optional content, cosmetic rewards, Solo Challanges and more to keep us interested in logging into that same Character each day.

if u feel the need to have 50 characters… a MMORPG has failed simple as, the motivation behind a Game in the MMORPG Genre is to make u wanna Pick a class Main that class Progress that class and maybe have some alts for side activities. full stop.

the fact BFA has failed to give us interesting classes, or Changing mechanics to keep the game fresh for us… in this enviroment is a Fault of BFA… not the lack of Alt friendlyness

the game should not encourage FoTM Rerollers… they burn out faster then normal players because they lose interestr in everything but a damage meter… the game should be pulling them away from these extreme methods such as this, its Not healthy for the player nor the game to have People nose diving into a New class every patch to reroll the FoTM

They do seem to have lost their way with all these grinds for everything. A friend who raided at mythic level quit after the game required so much work in between raids instead of being able to take part in just the raiding itself. It used to be simpler before Legion. No neck to constantly grind, no essences, no cloak and now we have corruption RNG to farm on top.

Many players endgame is LFR…far more than mythic. Mythic raiders repeat the same raid. HC farmers do the same. Normal do the same. LFR do the same.

No need for a full time job with LFR…you’re still only repeating content

I have maxed my gear a few times already in this expansion, and what I do with my time has nothing to do with this… I am not going to invest as much time into this patch as I have done the last 3. I refuse.

I find it funny that some players here are essentially saying that “if it takes anyone longer to max out - than it took them, then it must mean that they are bad players” hmm? Even though they started the season maxed from the last & they play with other maxed players, essentially boosting each other.

I think perhaps they forget, when quoting from their own ego, that to play this game you also have to play with others.

I have never believed that alts should be equal to ‘mains’ or that if alts even need all the jingles. But BfAs problem is that without essences, or corruptions you lock yourself out from any form of party content. Yes, my friends would gladly let my naked alts do things with them, but lets be honest - feeling (stress on word ‘feeling’) dead weight is not very fun. Yes, I can do my pewpew on normal or hc raid, but if you lack corruptions or least 1 of the good essences, you will stand out on the meters. No one would comment among friends, but you see yourself that you have contributed nothing. Being below bar.

And this is what I see problem with alts and 8.2 and 8.3.

Otherwise I wouldn’t care if my alts have essences or whatnot. But for me trying M+ or raids with various classes/roles makes it fun and gives also better perspective/variation. It keeps things fresh. BfA wants to decline this for me.

I did my stuff with rank 2 purification protocol and no BotE because i didn’t wanna farm it even though they end up being a solid 5k+ dps increase in total.
The dailies now suck though, I agree.

They are not chase after acessability. They were created becouse of acessbility. Becouse game time shrinked in past years into weeks rather than months. So Blizzard had to create new ways to progess.

Look at tbc and even wotlk how long it took to get your bis gear feom raids and how long it could potencialy take casual players to clear raid content. It took months. But gear and content got since then super acessible and time played decresed. Do you rember Cara. MoP and WoD how was community complaining about lack of content and nothing to do? It was caused by acessability and Blizz fix for that are alternative power progression systems.

I play in a mythic progression week, since I rerolled I never did island, I just do the invasion, I do dailies once every 3-4 days, I just do the visions to upgrade mine cloack every week.

My neck is at lv 77, mince cloack is rank 10 and I already have the CV to upgrade mine cloack this week.

I have 8 soon 9 character at lv cap and I will tell you a secret.
I dont need to keep them on par with the main, i have only 1 alt with the back

I never suggested that I want things for free. If you bothered to read more than 2 words, then you would see that I have said, I lead a guild, I have maxed out a few times in this expansion, and I have gotten a few curves. And when I achieved all that, I thought and felt like - it was like having a full time job.

Yes I personally would like to kick back a bit, and take a more casual approach to the game. Just as the majority of other players do. And guess what, the majority of players I meet and play with, think it is reasonable to aspire, as casuals, to achieve as much as I have done when I have put in so many hours as in the past seasons.
