Engineering in WOTLK, possible nerfs?

Hi all,
I read somewhere that engineering is super OP in WOTLK,
there is a mandatory enchant for haste and a lot more fun stuff…
Does Blizzard announce something about changing this? As it happened with leatherworking in TBC …or everyone will be an engineer in WotLK? I hope not  it would be not so fun

Maybe - if you want answers - move to the TBCC subforum.
You can use the pencil next to the name of this thread.

This subforum is mostly Era and SoM

The haste glove enchant is not even superior to other professions bonuses for many specs, the main reason engineering is good is due to gadgets and bombs, the same as always.

Of course Engineering shouldn’t be nerfed. If not for gadgets and bombs then Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting and Tailoring are all superior to Engineering for many specs. Everyone in a good guild has already been Engineering since the start of Classic.

Not sure if engi is the best prof out there, but i guess thats up for debate.
It is, however, the most fun prof. Hopefully they dont change it, as chute/bombs etc is fun in world pvp

I mostly play PVP and just did fast research, almost everyone suggested engineering for almost all classes. And the main reason is the haste buff … but I hope its not so

Until Blizzard decided to nerf Engineering in PvP (can’t remember what expansion, maybe Cata/MOP or WOD?) it was pretty much a requirement for top PvP’ers, but not because of that haste glove enchant, because of everything else.

You not seen an Engineer fly across almost an entire WSG map? Either way I don’t want to play WOTLK with a bunch of butchered balancing, the ony issue with professions in WOTLK is they removed the crafted gear, it’s all useless after the first week and future patterns from raids are BOE crafts.

Yeh yeh, but it is actually fun
I am just afraid of imbalance in the arena …where the gadgets are not usable at all btw
I don’t want to be a human engineer

Pretty sure gadgets were usable in arena in WOTLK (like about 99.9%), maybe Blizz already changed it?

A lot of the items are disabled in the arena in TBC … I thought it stayed that way, I’m maybe wrong I’m not an expert  that way I’m here

I’ve not tried using any gadgets in arena and only do my 10 games a week for points so you might be right. Originally in the old days rocket boots etc were a common thing in arena, my arena partner in 2007/2008 loved them. In WOTLK they are actually good though, because they are an enchant.

I’m pretty sure I remember at least in early WOTLK people using them in Arena? I dunno but I guess Blizzard already disabled it?

Yeah we will see, I assume  … hope bliz balance it if it’s really so OP if not, then no worries

hands down it is best prof in wotlk. No contest.

Yeah, this is what I’m afraid of, I love contest between professions  we need options

I personally disagree, im going bs/jc on my ele sham anyway.

They have nerfed stuff on TBCC so i dont see why they could not nerf things in WrathC

Doubt it. The reason they nerfed LW was due to it required 4 people in same group to be competetive else you would grief your party. Engi doesn’t have the same effect. As it only gives personal damage.

A lot of classes if min/maxing will be jewelcrafting/engineering or something similar.

I doubt there will be anything done. At worse they could frontload some epic gems and alike to make JW less beneficial at start, the question why… people already loosing their mind for solo instance leveling. WoTLK launch will be severely broken by meta  :frowning:

It’s bad to have a profession being BiS for every classes/specs but they won’t fix this excatly for this reason.

But, “personal damage” = BiS. So, it may become as mandatory as LW in raid because nowadays most of the players want to perform and want competitive players with them in group/raid content.

If they were going to nerf it they would have announce it already i guess.
