Enhancement is Piano Mess of a Spec with NO Identity

I’ll just leave my main right here. My 5th or 6th alt has had higher rio than you.

If they’re good or not players doesn’t matter it means we’ve experienced enhancement for a much longer time than you, and as such have enjoyed it when it was a much more superior spec to play. Even legion enhance was way better than this mess.

You’ve got no proper raiding experience on any class, and your enhancement shaman isn’t even the correct build, so I guess if you’re a low level player with minimal expectations then I’m sure it looks great to you.

It really amuses me you sit and insult, call veteran vanilla players when you’re at the bottom end of progress in raid and m+ like the usual casual andy that blizzard loves for subs. I’m sorry but please refrain from posting on the forums.

I didn’t really wanna going here but it’s like you’ve forced my hand… I mean weak arguments aside we could look at progress, and I haven’t properly raided since legion when my son was born, yet still my progress absolutely destroys yours. I totally quit SL after mid S1 too. Like you’ve not got a single CE and you want to talk about weak points.

I’m not being rude, but we’re talking about totally polar opposites in terms of level of play. I’ve come here to tell blizzard it’s not cool, and you start calling people names.

It’s sad what the forums have come to be.

Thank you for your service

  • The way you shut down people by basically saying “I know more than you shut up” is quite rude and patronizing.
  • You’ve come here to ask for the firing of people in charge of Enhance, that’s not a light tap on the wrist (hey, blizzard not cool  =/= Fire them trash ! ) but whatever works for you lol.
By the way I understand your frustration since I’m also annoyed at and critical of the Shaman dev team. I did like the Legion one, though I also enjoy the back to basics, but not so much approach they have been implementing since Shadowlands. It’s not perfect, but I like this idea of hybrid they had since Wrath.
  • Lastly it’s hard to find a time where that DH ever called you names…All i see is questions about the relevancy of your arguments.

My logs on all my characters are about as good as yours.

You have some more progress. But that’s about it, if i wanted to i could easily get to the level of progress you have, but that’s a time commitment, and i need to actually get into a team.

Also, my arguments are not weak, like, ever. There is has been no better designed enhancement.

If anything me playing the “wrong” build, and still getting purple and orange parses is more impressive than yours.

Also, if you had an actual point, you wouldn’t say this. Basically comparing “experience” I pointed out that there are loads of vanilla players that are still terrible to this day, can you disprove that? Can you disprove that enhance is currently very liked, and that the interactions within the spec are good? No you can’t? Then why does your comment exist?

Basically your argument is irrelevant. It’s the same as the other guy saying “iv’e been playing since vanilla therefore my point is more valid than yours despite going against observable data” Only a little more elaborate. But ultimately still irrelevant.

All i can see here is a lot of butthurt.

Admittedly though, you are a good player, if you can get purple/orange parses reliably, but that doesn’t really matter, that only really speaks to your level of skill, not how good you are at design. To make a good designer good player skills aren’t all that it requires. usually there is some overlap, because good players tend to have better ideas, but it’s not always true, in fact some of the worst ideas iv’e seen came from good players.

That’s about it, maybe next time think a little more. Also, i didn’t really insult anyone. But you’re welcome to point out where the “insult” is, and no, just saying you don’t know what you are talking about is not an insult. The only time when i will insult someone is when they are either behaving like a clown, which you’re starting to, or when people insult me.

You’re welcome to come up with an actual argument next time, unless you’re just here to tell me about how i’m a bad player and a bad person, which in that case, you’re wrong, and i don’t care.

The spec is really fun, class fantasy-wise as well. However I do agree it currently just has a couple too many rotational buttons. I’d prefer the encounter to be difficult rather than my rotation to be difficult.

I think little goblin and main boy Ionstorm are the same person

I don’t really care.

But it would make sense, considering the argument is ultimately very similar, only a bit more elaborate.

In other words, weak. You could be a world first raider, a bad point is still a bad point regardless of skill, and trying to show off just makes it pathetic.

If anything if they are the same person, which is likely re reading the comment again, that actually detracts from his argument considering what he said before, he basically just got hurt in his ego and now came back to his main to “REALLY SHOW ME” who’s boss.

Embarrassing.

Maybe… Come up with better arguments next time. That’s my suggestion to the op. You don’t like enhance? Well too bad, about 90% of people think that enhance is currently the pinnacle of spec design in dragonflight, and i too consider it an exceptional spec.

You literally have multiple specs playable inside 1 spec, the rotation flows nicely, you generate more than enough msw procs, the gameplay is awesome, the only detractor is bad defensives. Could the gameplay be improved further? Yea, there is no perfect, but it’s pretty close.

yepp worst enhance ever

I laugh quite amusingly at your log comment. Parses don’t mean anything, and I say that from being one of if not the best ele shaman in the world in Siege of Org.

You obviously don’t know anything about me, so I’ll let it slide. Meanwhile I resort back to the CE statement and general activity. I’ve done more keys on my 4th 70 than you have both toons this season.

The point is enhancement is horrible atm, and you don’t play at any sort of level to have any real input. Plenty of people who I know who main enhance have switched from it. Now you know.

Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Some stuff in the Bible.
Can’t you go back to the legion days ? When you weren’t there ?

lol’d irl

Honestly, thanks for that.

This is just you being mad about me saying that your argument was bad.

Parses and especially being consistent is literally the closest thing we have to saying that someone is objectively good at the game. Someone that consistently does mythic raiding, but gets bad parses each time is most likely just a bad player getting carried, or they just did it enough times until one time it clicked, or the boss was nerfed enough so it was possible for them to do it. In short, consistently good logs are literally the only thing that matters. If you can get purple/orange parses reliably, you can definitely do mythic as long as you have a team.

Anyway, i don’t give a damn about what you think, a bad argument is a bad argument regardless. As i said before, you could be a world first raider for all i care, your argument is still wrong.

And you can sit here and pretend that enhance is a badly designed spec when it’s getting praises from everyone aside a few people, but yea… You’re wrong.

You wanna play something close to legion enhance? Which by the way i also liked? Just play storm, and stop complaining.

Enhance has literally NEVER been better than this.

Yeah ignoring your squabble with Ilyon and the argumentation form both sides, your point still falls short.

Your experience is mainly in other specs, so by your own logic your argument is invalid.

The general sentiment from long time enh players is that the spec is in the best place it has ever been design wise (talking about elementalist, storm build is abit on the simpler side).

As said above, you have any right to not like the spec. Neither I enjoy elemental but I respect that some people love it. The problem is that you are trying to convince people that there is something factually wrong with the design of the spec, without using any data other than “trust me bro I know”.

Spent more time enhance than you have in the game.

Abit hard considering i’m playing the game from vanila, and maining enhance from TBC.

Also wouldn’t change the fact that you are wrong.

Ye idk guys, Enha feels very tough to learn; I’d compare it to arcane mage DF s1; since you need to be aware of alot of stuff, not only your pure rotation, adding the plus that you are melee and you must dodge alot of mechanics.

The normal melee range, and somethimes wheelchair movement speed, increases even more the difficulty or, the quality of life of a player who wants to learn (tryharding) the spec.

Me myself, I leveled my enha to lvl 70; gearing as resto shaman ofc because it is easy to get geared in 9-16 as resto with 0 gear; however, I’m constantly learning and re-binding my enha build, trying some combos, trying some stuff here and there; and I can tell that even playing Outlaw Rogue feels 99% easier than Enha.

I gotta agree with what some guy says above, that enha has alot of buttons that are not relevant by their own, but still matter. If they could revamp some abilities/combos such as Icy strike (like, whats the point of it, just make it a proc?), or rework Lava lash so the extra dmg with flameshock is a buff that the shaman has (such as the BtE change that Blizz did to Outlaw in 10.2). Idk, something to make the class more accessible and less punishing to play.

Playing Shaman for 16Years now (mostly resto, but always enh > ele in my personal opinion):

  1. I can rely on OP. Enh Shaman is button mashing on steroids. Without any weak auras, I would not be able to deal “sufficient” amount of dmg.
  2. I dont like the dmg breakdown. It is stupid how my dmg breakdown usually have 12 abilities doing more dmg then stormstrike (which was the initial main ability over the last 9 expansions
  3. Enh in M+ is in a weird spot. We are not doing top melee DPS, our support is okayish but nothing special, Bloodlust is no USP since a few addons anymore and since every high m+ group runs a mage or voker anyways it became kinda useless, and we dont have defensives I mean 15% Life from ele, only 1 real def cd is kinda awkward comparing us to all other melees (especially meta melee classes like rogue or DH)

I like button mashing, I like the elemental lore/playstyle aspect of enh.
But to some degree, OP is right and I dont like it either.

I think it would be healthy to think about how can enh become more unique (and be it renaming all the spells without changing anything else just to make it feel more melee oriented > would still feel better then doing most encounter dmg with Lightning bolt)
and maybe get rid of a few buttons or proccs (eg Hailstorm/IceStrike is quite “complex” for what it does)

But overall, enh shaman is still fun

Nah, not even close.

Arcane is far harder to play.

I dont play Enh. So il let others say their opinion about that.

As for this: NO.

Support speks should be deleted until there is an overhaul of instanced content to accommodate them. 2 Aug specs is worse than the 1 we currently have.

I cant even begin to imagine the aberration of having Aug + Enh support roles buffing each-other in M+ and Raid.

NONONONO… keep DPSing please.

Support was a mistake, aug should have just been a melee dps spec.

And i definitely don’t wanna see enhance being turned into that.

Gonna be completely honest:

This thread is filled with people who are either bad at enhance or doesnt know the spec.

'waaaah the spec is button bloated (and i dont know what to press half the time)"

Skill issue homie.

“There is no identity in this spec anymore”
Yes there is. A battlemage focused around doing constant damage and having focused damage on 6 targets with even more focused damage on the currently targeted enemy.

“This is melee elemental”
Yeah, we share some abilities. We are also the same class. The rotation and usage of the same abilities is completely different.

“But if elemental and enhancement can share the same abilities, then why doesnt Survival hunter and Bm hunter?”

Fantasy difference.
Also, they should do a bit more. They only share Kill command which they use for different reasons.

“what about triple dps specs”
They are usually vastly different cause they share the same role of either ranged dps or melee dps (except for hunter)
They are supposed to be vastly different cause they are in the same role.

Back to enhance:

“we dont have a real cooldown”
There is your identity mate. Its about immense cooldown reduction, highrolls on procs and focused damage.
We tried having an actual burst window last patch and holy hell was that unfun. The only saving grace of it was that we actually had AoE damage.
We gave up all ST for it tho.
Storm was omega cringe last patch and the cooldown of Doom winds feels incredily lackluster because its not a capstone, and therefore not balanced around that.

If you think that enhance has no identity, is buttonbloated, or is melee elemental then you are either trolling, bad, or both.
