From your point of view, what is more “user friendly” or “beginner friendly” for someone that sucks at DPSing (me).
No need for super uber DPS. As many passives as possible. Just enough to do say… heroic raiding and do more DPS than the tank.
Elemental or Enhancement? With current 4 piece of course.
Well i can tell you that elemental is pretty “easy” compared to the enhance rotation. but that is because all the focus is on lava burst this season.
Elemental is having a genuine design problem currently, that a single target builder like lava burst is a better button to press in AoE over Earthquake.
Enhancement does not face problems like that. Enhance is just not an easy spec (when playing the elementalist build)
Well thank you for your suggestions. I wont try Enh then. I need something easy to start with.
I asked because I tried elemental last season a bit and it was a mess of spell X buffs spell Y. Had to chain cast 10 different spells in specific orders and whatnot. It was very confusing.
But il try it again this season. Just to spice thing up a bit. Maybe in ST in the raid I manage to do something half decent, have a bit of fun with guild alts and just chill.
Maybe later, with time I actually put in the time to learn the DD rotation properly and actually do something worth mentioning.

Sry but enhance is indeed Button Bloated spec with no indentity and it comes not From “Noobs” it comes from top Enhance PvPers we are the bottom of the bottom exactly because this season forced all to go “Elemental enhance Build” not other class ingame exists with 8 Active ability rotation(And that’s if you don’t take clash lightning) and all of them do almost the same DMG and reset with too much RNG built into them its not normal at all to force people to play piano and see what lights up and make it 10000 times harder to look what goes on on your screen who to kick/Hex/root/stun/offheal/track earth shield on your+partner/watch for tremor/ground/purge.
You are a pure PVE player and your opinion is PURE Pve based , elemental enhance built got good dps in PVE especially when you run RBM who Yells at you in the background when or where to move and back on the BOSS training dummy so you don’t really see how it effects PvP.
This is exactly why enhancer are forced to go ele to atleast see their screen in PvP and to what happens around it , Nowdays we are Indentity less and why? well because we feel like affli lock who spreads Flame shock mixed with Ele sham because we are made into a Caster with 2/3 melle abillities who are there to just generate maelstrom to burst and our burst is based on Primordial wave which is also Ranged , The whole purpose of enhancer as even Described in its talent tree is to Enhance his melle weapons “A totemic Warrior who strikes foes with weapons imbued with elemental power”(Literal copy pasta) which we aren’t we don’t feel like warrior who is imbued with elemental weapons we are Nowdays a Survival hunter who noddle hit the target to be able to deal any dmg with Elemental caster abillities (LB,PW,Ele blast,Frost shock) then again there is no problem with ranged caster abillities its just that it doesn’t needs and cant be our “Core damage” we need to have atleast defensives as melee class to survive and maintain ourselves and have Core melee damaging abillities just like it states in the description and only secondary think about our Ranged once also to somewhy we have 70-80% caster main rotation abilities.
I miss pre-SL enchanment shaman tbh.
Making it a hybrid of a melee and a caster was something that I stopped playing it.
Since WoTLK Enh is a mess with loads of buttons

I can tell you that in PvE you still have all the utility responsibility that you are listing.
Hex, kick, Root, Stuns, Knocks, Offheal, earthshield (sometimes) Tremor, and purge.
But it doesnt afflict any negative effect on the rotation in PvE atleast.
Mostly when it does, its a skill issue on the player. not that the spec is bloated.

Elementalist is definetely not made with PvP in mind. Its unfortunate that they cant figure out how to tune TI for PvP. Fortunate that they dont know how to tune it for PvE though. Playing Storm in PvE is cringe and i hope they directly remove it for twW.
The current iteration of enhance has been the most fun i have ever had with this spec. and i have played it since Legion until now.
The only thing i find lacking in it is missing defensive value. I would expect the same problem lies in PvP, of just getting oneshotted.
I havent played PvP since season 3 shadowlands due to it being really cringe and oneshot burst meta (atleast then it was)
I hear now its just Stun healer and destroy the dps guy.
I read that they are buffing TI for 10.2.5
atleast it stated that in a recent 10.2.5 PTR note.
Again, i will iterate. This version of enhance has never been better for PvE. The only thing its lacking is defensives that arent worse versions of other specs.
That is a thing i can agree with you, for PVE elementalist spec feels good.
for PvP its pure trash because in PVP you have to watch all the enemies casting abillities each second in PVE it doesn’t happen boss casts abillities once in couple of seconds sometimes tens of seconds + most mechanics nowdays are Cleave Adds/Run from the group/put puddle outside of group/turned into duck or something eat the thing on the ground and use on boss x Abillity/Lots of mechanics are split between tanks and healer or ranged dps, PVE isn’t as hectic as pvp and doesn’t requer big Up time of you checking + we have DBM who announces all for US in pve (i am against those kind of addons it makes people braindead just follow the “Addon”).
So for me enhance now is: PVE=Good (enough atleast) PVP=Pure trash we are lowest tier atm

4 button rotation,2 button mongoloid burst rotation , 15 abillities in total .
When i play enhance all my keybinds are taken when i log to my DH i have half of them empty.
Nobody was comparing enhance to havoc in terms of difficulty , also you have no idea wtf you are talking about.
The reason why i said that was purely because someone said 'coming from a DH" as to degrade the argument made because it comes from a dh " one of the easiest specs to play according to people who have no idea wtf they are talking about". Also, the argument itself is dumb, if your counterargument is “well you’re a dh” You already failed.
This isn’t even my main, i play pretty much every spec, and i guarantee that i am better than you, in fact i am better than about 90 % of players when it comes to actual skills. PVE player mostly? then yeah PVE especialy comparing DH to other classes is laughable your Inability to understand why shows why you are 1300M+ rating , You can do DH rotation with closed eyes , if we go comparing Buttons you have to press to be perfect on your DPS sry to say you have the least from all existing classes try Feral/enhance/Ret/Ele/mage each everyone of them will have harder and more keybind requesting Dps rotation.
Coming from who you asked? Atm ranked 107 as Eu enhance solo que , someone who did M+ only 1 day by mistake and is even higher rated then you in M+? 2.3k Rated bg and arena player so i think i am more compitent to talk about is + i mained DH in legion for couple of seasons i know what i am speaking about in legion you even was requered to keep your momentum going all the time which add a bit of timing to havoc but they removed it after so it became even less complex.

Also yes Enh needs some love, it’s a fun spec and the SFX is amazing but the amount of buttons you need for just the main rotation is too much, on top of the small annoyances like Windfury Totem which is good DPS wise but it sucks having to cast it everytime the enemies move in raid or on every trashpack in dungeons, just increase it’s effective range or something…
Also some buttons need to be merged into 1 or converted into passives (looking at you Ice Strike).
Speaking of Ice Strike, it needs a real animation.
