Epic riding technical question

Hello everyone,

I have a very technical question where I can not find anyone to answer it.

I am currently grinding for Rank 11 on my Character, I want to buy the Black War Tiger.
I do currently NOT own Tiger Riding. (i’m a Gnome)

I am aware of a feature in TBC that when you own an epic mount in your bags or bank that it gives you epic riding skill for free. Will this also be the case for the Tiger thats sitting in my bags. Knowing full well Pre-TBC I was never able to use it and never mounted it.

I think from everything I’ve read about the issue, if you have the mount it’ll grant the skill.

I can only remember reading things like “if you have an epic mount in your inventory you’ll be granted the skill”, nothing about it being usable.

However, the pvp mounts aren’t too expensive so for piece of mind I’d take your race mount just to be sure and grab the other if you really want it.

Do they change to the honor currency in TBC, if so its what 50k honor? Again not a huge amount.
