Era is inmortal. It never died, it’s not dead, and it will never die.
I stayed in Era from day one when most people left to TBC. By that point in may 2021 i had 9 lvl 60s, one of each class. 8 on alliance and a second account with a shaman. I’ve been playing it this whole time. By february 2022 i had 16 lvl 60s, one of each class on both factions, one account with 8 ally and the other account with 8 horde.
Now 16k hours into the game, I have 18 lvl 60s characters with no boosts. i’m currently leveling 14 characters, 11 of them lvl 39, and 3 lvl 38s. I play each character once every two weeks, i’m on the road to 32 lvl 60s, probably sometime in late 2024 or 2025. I wanna have 1 character of each class on both factions on 2 accounts, so that i can duobox any combination of any 2 clases. I never buy or sell mage boosts, i don’t even mage boost my own chars much, cause what i like about the game is questing in the open world. I’ve never joined a GDKP raid in era, and I never will. I’ve geared all my chars entirely out of SR runs, and i currently have 10 characters 8/8 T2, 17 characters with T2 helms, 13 exalted brood. I don’t do Naxx much because i farm and craft all my consumes myself, so i prefer to focus on leveling, and casually go do MCs-BWLs and AQ40s.
I didn’t play TBC, Wotlk, SoM, HC, not playing SoD, won’t play Cata. I will stay on Era even if i’m the only player in the server.
The only thing i want is that SoD characters go to their own Discovery Era server after their season ends, or just simply turn them into permanent server.
SoM characters were very similar to Era characters, they just had an accelereted progression speed, so they got integrated quite seamlessly. SoD characeters are very different (rune system, new gear).
I’d like to play the closest thing to 1.12 that Blizzard can offer me for the rest of my life. If i could i would remove chronoboons, go back to the old pvp system, ect. but whats done is done, and i understand that there are other players who play with me who like these things.
Anyway, I’m happy for the hype chasers getting SoD, don’t get me wrong, i’m not hating on it, it’s really fun to watch it on streams and it’s a good thing that the general crowd can get to enjoy it, but i’m a vanilla purist, I have no interest in playing SoD myself, and I would like to keep all those funky experiments ot of my game, thank you very much.
