Essence Grind for Alts

My 280 ilvl alt is totally not doing what i do on my main. Nothing feels cheated. So many systems to beat, it will never get to the level of my main.

There are so many grinds becouse without them you woud have nothing to do in 2-3 weeks. People walked in full 465 gear frist week of 8.3 release. Without other progression systems most people would quit as they would run out of stuff to do in couple of weeks.

That has nothing to do with what I said and you’re twisting my point into something it is not about.

If I take the time and effort to obtain a certain Essence on my Priest, then the time and effort required for every other character to obtain that Essence should of course be the same.

If the output is the same (the reward), then the input should also be the same (the time and effort).

Than there is no issue since your alt clearly do not need essences in first place.

I agree. Essences should have been tied to the achievements, so account wide.

it wasnt there in s1, and everyone stayed :man_shrugging:

Do you understand the alt is not played because of essences, azerite, coal and the corruption grind?

They are played not just at high end.

People were leaving game in drows in s1.

Of course. Some month ago indeed i logged in on it.

You say so. We were happily raiding as a guild in s1. I even raid leaded up in heroic. The good thing about emissary grinds is, you only have to do them once every 3 days :joy:

Oh yeah sorry. Didnt know i was meant to farm rep on multiple characters the rest of the expansion to fill the time until shadowlands.

God forbid i could try a couple alts without feeling 2 months behind and play what i would like. I could just do a weekly m+ before and keep up multiple alts and enjoy them actually doing decent. Oh wait nope i need to farm rep every day and spend 100 hours on stupid world quests. Might as well just not play the game and raid/m+ log main.

The worlds moved on. Classics success proves that

Why stop there? Why not suggest to pay 1 subscription per character you wanna play while youre at it? This alt-friendlyness of aloving us to create as many chars as we want is just something that must be stopped.

On my main character (Ret pala) it took me 44 runs (!!!) to get rank 3 Vision of perfection, not to mention grinding 10k honor for Blood of the enemy rank 3, grinding arena rating for Conflict and strife, grinding nazjatar for Memory of lucid dreams and the list goes on and on.

You honestly think anyone in their right mind willingly will take on this kind of stuff on several characters? Well if they do and they got a life outside of wow, they got sacking / divorce coming for them.

This stuff only gonna make people unsub. Im considering it myself. Id play one or two of my alts at this point, but i simply cant because of this insane bull sh i t .

With 8.3, all this comes in addition to hours of dailies every day in Uldum / Vale for farming resources for cloak upgrades / reputation, horrific visions for cloak upgrades, artifact power for neck.

Wich again comes in addition to doing mythic+ / raiding (Wich i again do to gear up to get higher up in rated pvp) and arena in my case.

And in addition to that you can put up grinding every piece of endgame content to get some bis corruption so strong that a 430 ilvl item can be an upgrade to a 470 ilvl item.

So, alt-friendlyness? This game is not even main-friendly regarding all the stuff you have to endlessly grind to be relevant in endgame content. keep your toxic to yourself.

Well if the gameplay experience provides enough stuff for people to do on one character, I don’t see what the problem is.

If Blizzard are managing to cover 100% of the time you have available for WoW, then that seems fine.

I’d be more worried if you didn’t have enough to do, and you felt compelled to play alts for that reason.

That kind of means nobody has time for raiding, battlegrounds, arenas or dungeons :frowning:

But clearly they have, last I checked.

You are making a statement about 100% of available time consumed.

I haven’t touched this Hunter since the end of the first mythic+ season.

I no longer have a sub either. If this joke of a system makes a comeback in Shadowlands I won’t be buying it.

It’s not really as straightforward as that though is it.

The insane rng in this game can actually mean an alt has better corruption than a main has therefore do more dps.

It’s more luck than anything else.

Essences should be account wide… it’s the least they can do with this joke of a patch with half it’s content missing.

There is so much to do on main character to keep up with everything, that when im done with it all, there is barely any time to do what i play the game for in the first place: Rated pvp.

After 44 runs in the same dungeon to get a bis essence for my ret, i took a long look at myself and said “What the h am i doing?” an considered long and hard on just deleting the whole game.

And that is on my main only. Id rather quit the game forever and never ever log in again before i do this all over on another character. I have grinded this stuff to the point where im starting to hate it with a passion. But guess what, i needed it all, i have only grinded what is considered bis for my spec in both pve and pvp.

Pvp is the reason i play wow, but right now, i have to grind cloak/neck/rep/essences to be relevant in m+ , and then i have to grind m+ for gear/corruptions, currently i finish 3-4 +15 dungeons a week because i need the weekly chest and i need still gear from end dungeon in some of the dungeons. After all this there is not much time for the pvp im here to do in the first place.

I used to play several classes in pvp, it was fun, gave me variety, and it gave me a better knowledge of other classes abilities in pvp.

Id play a alt or two right know if it wasnt for all this crap. And honestly, im considering more and more to just unsub until next expansion, im tired of it all, and i can tell you i speak on behalf of many people.

You dont see a problem with people having to grind themselves into oblivion to be able to do the content they think are fun, but get so bored in the process that they consider quitting?

Well, Blizzard should see a problem with it. They dont make less money on essences being accountwide. They make more.

I do.

We paid for expansion features with allied races and can have a total of 50 characters per account… they even raise that sometimes with new expacs.

Paying a monthly sub to only have time for one character because it’s now World of Chorecraft after all we unlocked is a crime.
