Even for the elite it's too elite

Called it out, literally 10,000 years ago.

They don’t get that… “players don’t raise to the occasion.” ( quote by Ghostcrawler )
We cant be all mythic raiders, or watch RWF in our free time. People want to be engaged and rewarded at the acceptable hardship levels in MMO, but won’t say it out loud on reddit, cause of basic human nature.
Healthy game resembles a pyramid where amount of casual content is the wide bottom side and time invested for elite players is top sharp angle. Just like classic WoW.

And the biggest WoW celebrity Asmon is an absolute casual in terms of personal skill, he gets glad mounts and other prestige things by other means. But his casual goofy collection acquisition gameplay is the essence of what most potential players are truly interested in WoW. And the reason why he is so successful cause he has a personality, which RWF setting doesnt produce, unlike casual goofing around does.

Making harder content doesn’t make it last longer or substitute the quantity of the content.

They absolutely should find the investor for big casual revamp of everything, if they lack funds.
Crowdfunded content requested by communtity and for community is the future of MMO.
So many fake and real games are being made with that model, there are plenty of people who are ready to chip in small amounts of cash.

Not the mix of lootboxes, RMT and subscription. Which is hated by western audience. Cause it gets players lower quality, timegating, rating gating, and shop items.

Ultimately people stop paying taxes ( subs ) cause its not their country ( game ) anymore.
But you can capitalize on their donations if you start catering to their needs in a more direct form of game as service model.
