I have a question about season length, I did a quick search but I see no announced date on when TWW season 1 will end. Do you have any data on that? I’m curious.
Other than that, I’ve read it, and wow, you really put a lot of effort into writing this feedback.
Well written.
I miss when WoW just had an expansion of stuff to do; and not seasons.
I think that’s my biggest issue, tbh, cause it causes stress and FOMO; which I hate.
I miss simpler times, in all ways.
Professions, gearing, raiding, dungeon-running, farming things… without the timer, without the “seasons”.
Dude, if you look at sub figures compared to now to say classic at it’s peak. This turd doesn’t come near lol, they’re slowly knifing out the games internals so they can profit. M+ was amazing and PvP but why does it need a big stage to play on (videos and commentary) you used to play for fun! Now people want to watch others play and play what they’re watching be played.
It’s a generation thing, us oldies are seeing a gem get dirtier
I’d guess around February or march roughly but honestly we have no way of knowing. 10.1 released in may with a November df release so I’d imagine it’ll be a similar time frame with a couple smaller patches in between
Toxicity is inevitable because even the PvE game has PvP elements. Rankings place players against each other, very similar to a sprint race. Reaching the end isn’t enough, you have to be the fastest to it as well. The previous sentence in combination with both time-gated content and the possibility of permanently missing out on progress if one misses one participation session (for example you don’t log in for one week, so you miss all progress from it, you can’t replenish it by completing twice as much content the next week) makes efficiency-oriented players to be extremely hostile to anything that doesn’t follow their perfect schedule.
Think of it as throwing tantrums because one does not have 100% win rate in PvP. That’s what happens with quite a few PvE players when the rest of the players they party up with do not meet their expectations.
You want to eliminate it? Remove entirely the concept of limited rewards and of any officially sanctioned scoreboard systems (like the M+ score).
The game is more alt-friendly. The issue here is that the game loop design changed to require massively more time to “reach our goals” for our main characters. What we accomplished in 1-2 months up to Shadowlands on 1 character now requires 3-4 months in TWW.
This is the case of people falling victim to advertising. A lot of us knew from the very first day they were announced that they would just be 10 talents that everyone will pick and that we cannot use the points in the already existing trees.
The 3 PvP talents are more interesting than Hero Talents and change the playstyle in more obvious ways.
Nope. The intent is to keep the price of some materials very high for a long time. I haven’t yet logged in this week yet, but I damn know I will not be completing this weekly this week. I don’t care if it puts me back 3 points.
Guilty.
Disclaimer - The following are speculation:
We know that Blizzard wants expansions to have faster cadence. Dragonflight lasted 21 months. My estimate for the each expansion of the World Soul saga is for it to be between 18 and 20 months. Assuming that Blizzard will definitely continue with 3 seasons + 1 fated season format (since that means they can create less raids and less bosses per season and per expansion under the pretense that higher quantity would strain players too much and they don’t want that… /s), that gives about 4 months per Season if we also consdier some dead weeks at the end and beginning.
So my estimate is that Season 2 will start in late January 2025.
you and me both, i also feel eben shadowlands has been less grindy despite all the promises. I knew the 2 extra tracks on myth would probably kill the expansion for me, and it seems to be going that way. Which is a shame, as i really like what they did with the story (and i love the net-catch mechanic on silken court).
right - commenting the above on his wall of insults thrown at me is something I should self-reflect.
Are you a hater/troll-for-hire or are you specifically targetting me because I beat you in pvp or something? You can’t be this dense to see the responses above were more than warranted in context, right?
Your takes are so bad, baity and trollish that it’s just cringeworthy.
