Also doesn’t help when lead dev tells us the goal is going to be the same at end content where semi-casual raids should have an easy time and that all “players” want to blast things and if we don’t like it, we can play other versions and guess what? We did…I logged onto Living Flame (logged out in Ashenvale on alt) and I instantly died by Horde, no Alliance in sight (yes this may be layering) but I logged and saw all realms were “Medium” if that doesn’t tell me theres issues then I don’t know what to tell you. Expect some realms to close after a free transfer (think that is what is currently happening on the US side) Even for a person working 40+ hours a week it’s easy… You only need honored rep to get all 6 pieces ready to do ST which is on a 7 day lockout. You also get 1k rep daily at 50, meaning you can get exalted pretty damn fast. This is also the same for the pvp rep and being exalted with everything before 60 isn’t casual, it’s just feeding you free epics.
Not a fan of Cata, but it´s less nonsense than SOD

I think that sod having a short lifetime and is planned to “”“die”“” in 6-12 months is not making things a lot better.
Don’t you wanna play your character now so that when and if classic+ hits and you will be reset to lvl 1?
Sod risks burning players out and making them all take a 1-2 year break after.

SoD was created as means to resurrect old players and get them engaged with the game, I feel like it was purposely made worse at the right time to funnel the players towards cata and then retail.
Classic+ will not happen because it would kill retail and retail is where they’ve invested a big chunk of their money.
Tinfoil hat but i agree on the sabotage theory for SoD. RMTs / cash shop are in other versions if the game but not SoD and the popularity of SoD p1 was a threat to both Cata launch and retail with TWW launch hype (or lack thereoff)
Agreed, it’s called Season of Discovery, but discovering abilities that already exist in future expansions is hardly a discovery…I would’ve loved if they added ideas they didnt bring to classic, like: Azshara_Crater (google it) They could’ve done so much and I fear Karazhan Crypts is also never gonna happen.
You’ve also got some players who say “You aren’t forced to play SoD” but they’re missing the point…It’s classic and Season of Discovery supposed to be about discovering new stuff in classic…not recycle abilities from future expansions and call it “discovery” it’s lazy and you may say “they only have 5 people” but how is that our fault?
We pay a service and you may argue that’s for retail, but there is a reason why classic was brought back…Aka back when they shut down that vanilla server that was super popular? That tells you from “data” what players want…Even Turtle WoW is doing 100 times better than Season of Discovery and that’s a free service!
It’s laughable and Ignored is right, they all seem to be making classic experience worse so they can say “We told you, you don’t want vanilla” just to make retail seem way better, when it’s just not and they don’t show sub data anymore because of how bad retail has become.
well its to be expected. but i remeber there is a reason i quit back in the days it was cata and there is a reason for that. it sucked but then again sod is not in a good state. its just to Imbalced. and they realy need to tone down the top tier classes , i dont think its okay that some classes does 3 times the dps than the bottom tier. its simply not ok.
What about farming though? Farming is part of your progression path, when your class has to stop and eat after every mob you kill and see others farm 6 of the same mob all at the same time without breaking a sweat, how is that fair to you ?
Next phase warriors got 3x expensive items crafted by blacksmith that would cost around 2k gold each (Lionheart Helmet, Titanic Leggings, Stronghold Gauntlets). How is a warrior supposed to grind under current circumstances ? you can barely kill mobs, you can’t go mining because all those higher level zones are full of paladins turning you into a running ghost and the list could go on.
Meanwhile spriests, shamans and other classes can easily farm any spot in the game and people talk about raid logs and focus on DPS each class does in the only raid we got right now. Making it look like just because warriors are top tier in that useless raid it should all be about that.
thats realy hard to know what the craftables ( bis are) Lionheart Helmet, Titanic Leggings, Stronghold Gauntlets in classic / vanilla was god like yes but there might be even better things, and you are right about the prices. i got my plagye deck a few days ago ( paied 3k gold for it) Lionheeart might not even be bis but suspevt its going to be around 10k+honestly be the data dosent lie. just look at any raid log, parsing. warrior are doing AQ numbers at lvl 50. thats Broken.
Yes I agree that we might get new items, I suspect however that similar stats will be found in raids though so you will most certainly still need those at least as pre-bis option.
That was just an example, but you see, we end-up talking about logs again, as if warrior preforming well in that raid is of any help to us (majority of warrior players that don’t raid at all this phase) when our class is crippled into oblivion and we can’t farm anything or do much outside those raids.
The raid issue was created by the devs because they gave too many utility buffs to other classes, I don’t think I need to list them, you probably already know all those buffs you get nowadays.
But again, warriors doing big dmg in raids doesn’t help the fact that warrior is crippled and in a wheelchair regarding ANYTHING that’s not raid related and again would like to underline that NOT all warriors are raiding this phase.
sod provides nothing outside bgs/wpvp and st once a week per char.
pvp isnt gonna change so far because of the turds blizz calls a team, the term “class balance” is a foreign term to the entirety of the SoD team,
ST is boring it takes total apes and underperformers to completely fail mechanics in hilarious ways,
pvp, even if it is ONLY the prepatch and archaeology in cata are more fun grinding out than the two prior points mentioned.
From what I understand - for a realm to go from ‘High’ to ‘Medium’ that means there is a very large drop. Especially considerng Living Flame was ‘Full/Locked’ not so long ago.
And medium for all non-locked realms has been all weekend. Who knows though - it’s a bank holiday weekend in the UK this weekend so many may be on vacation (I’m trying to be diplomatic lol)
I only raidlog last 2 weeks. I won’t play cata or any other Blizzard games in the future.
I play Albion Online mainly these days. No more clownfiestas of a game. Actual proper PvP and grinding.
