- If you want to have semi close wotlk experience and don’t want to support gold sellers and other scam. 4 years of intent bot farming cannot be undone by anything except full gold wipe and blizzard will never do it. Inflation numbers are getting close to retail. Fresh wotlk servers won’t be able to catch up in a year or more despite some people say so.
- If the biggest part of playerbase keeps playing on fresh servers, blizzard will probably give up and never open transfers from old realms (firemaw and gehennas especially) after 3 month or dramatically limit the gold you can bring at least.
- Yes, gdkps will still happen on fresh servers, but it will be entirely different story without players who have gold cap on 10x characters. You won’t have to deal with g2g and spend hundrends of $ to get any item from these raids.
- It’s not fun to loose character and progress on old realms (I have sunwell geared character myself), but it’s entirely blizzard fault they didn’t do anything to bots ruining economy during last years neither they didn’t do anything to goldsellers, buyers, gdkpers. TBC classic is pure pay2win now, wotlk classic can be saved from this fate at least for some time, but only if people start on fresh servers and boycott old realms.

Ecactly - and this is why I will keep playing my old characters in Wrath.
Call me selfish or what you like. I never bougth (or sold) Gold, I never got boosted, I never bought Blizz’s boost. I noever speculated in AH, I never participated in GDKP runs (with the resut that I today am nearly broke, but still happily playing).
Why should I spoil my fun just because somebody else are idiots?
If everybody just stopped buying gold now the effect would be totally the same - but more fun.

Don’t worry. Based on the current track record it takes almost a full expansion for blizzard to detect a botting software. You will get your share of bots as well. Slowly, but surely they will level up and they will farm the crap out of anything that is farmable by a machine.
Also once the no-boosts time period ends, whether it is 3 months or 6 months, it will be precisely the same as what it is on progression servers afterwards. Bots will boost and level up fast, people will swipe, people will go to GDKPs, people will ruin the economy. The demand for gold is not going to go down unless GDKPs are banned. And as long as one can buy gold, people surely will do that as well.
Copium. F R E S H will be 2 month adventure for some leveling boomers and giant trap for players that will get caught in the hype machine.

If Blizzard wanted to stop at least gold selling they would do so. However it and GDKPs are building base for introducing WoW Classic token. I hate to see every PuG turning into GDKP with rediculous prices, but at long as there are some LC/DKP/EPGP/SR guilds left, this game is worth playing.

Almost every classic server was alive to keep healthy gameplay even after naxx patch. But what happened in tbc? Only firemaw and gehennas left. And it happened during p2 or even earlier. And I think there is a reason why they started to rush phases every 2 month. If someone of us is being delusional, it’s definitely not me. TBC classic is a huge flop compared to classic

Which would probably be really fun 2 months aswell, because the early days of any fresh or launch are without doubt the best.
If everything else fails and the fresh server goes to hell, peoples old characters are still there on the old servers and catching up wont be a problem.
Dont know why some act like the old characters have to be deleted and there wont be any Plan B if one choses fresh…

Yes, I remember in original WoTLK where I started fresh and everything I had earned previously was deleted.
