I remember the same requests when Worgen first came out. If those complaints back then were realized, the alliance would look so much more monotone.
The Worgen curse is that, a curse, and in battle it makes so much sense to transform into a big clawed, sharp toothed, ripped battle beast rather than another puny human.
Same for Dracthyr. They’re a dangerous experiment (even terrified the bloody Dragonflights themselves) created by none other than fooking Neltharion/Deathwing, made to protect and fight against the most powerful forces in the cosmos.
The Draconic elite defense if you will.
If he thought pretty colorful elves and humans were fit for that, they’d have fought their battles in that form, but they dont. Because they’re significantly weaker in that form in battle (not enough scales, tiny, no wings, no tail, no fangs, …) , for the same reason as worgen except they have nasty tailsweeps and wings now as well, and can breathe literal fire and other devastating breaths.
I am somewhat empathetic to your idea, but at the same time, i don’t think it’s worth the sillyness it would ensure by seeing people fight in visage. Even if they casually switch for certain spells.
What’s the logic for it? Sounds very clumsy for a Dracthyr to be like, i hate my dragon form so much, let me go through the process of visaging during battle just for those spells so i can feel beautiful. ? The Battlefield is hardly a place for that, that’s one of the reasons why it’s only out of combat you can use it.
It just doesn’t make sense for what they are created for (hardcore battle), what they trained for (Dracthyr starting isle, no one is in visage), who they represent (the dragons) and on top of that, anyone who does love the fantasy of Dracthyrs, like me, would feel their chars lore not matter when i see it’s whole lore is just a cosmetic anyone can turn on and off during fights because Blizz rather would enable people to be even more pretty elves and humans rather than have another cool battle beast/draconic race amongst the alliance.
