I know what you’re going to say, DH is restricted to Night Elves and Blood Elves only and it’s still a popular class. I agree, but this is different. Demon Hunters have been requested for years upon years until we finally got them in Legion, and they’re very accessible to play due to their overall simplicity. Night Elves and especially Blood Elves are really popular races as well.
This doesn’t apply to Evoker. The entire class is restricted to a derpy looking dragon person that isn’t nearly as cool as the races I mentioned prior.
I absolutely guarantee you, Evoker will die out after DF if it continues to be restricted to one (imo, ugly) race.

If Evoker dies then because the class is bad and unfinished, not because its restricted to Dracthyr.

No it won’t.
It’ll probably not be as popular as DH. That’s not an issue.
DH is a very special case because it is so easy to pick up, well, it was insanely easy in legion, relatively easy today.
If Evoker is good in pvp or pve, people will play it. It provides a unique playstyle and unique look.
Why are there gnome mages? Because some like them. Same goes for dracthyr.
Paladins, shamans, druids were also race-locked for a looooong time. Were they dead classes in wotlk for example? Hellno.
They thematically fit other races, so they gave them to others too. Evoker does not. The breaths do not fit any other race

How does a class “die” then? Will it get deleted? That seems rather unlikely. Or is it just hyperbole to say few people will play it? That’s hardly problematic since there are plenty of healers and damage dealers spread across the other classes anyway.
No… It will just become obscure, barely anyone playing it. The class would pop off if it was more accessible.
To make the class more appealing they should just let Drakthyr choose their visage instead of lumping them with the dull human female model.

The DPS spec of the class is quite clunky, second only to the shadow priest in clunkiness.
It feels like something is missing (especially in PvP).
The healing spec is serviceable though, at least in PvE
It will “die” because devastation evoker is weaker than people expected.
Back in prepatch level 60, devastation evokers were strong. Tanky, supportive, bursty, compare it to now.
After the living flame nerf, a healing spell costs 20% mana. Lol…
Devastation evokers die fast.
Both melee and casters 1v1 us easily because we are not burst as we used to be in prepatch.
So, people go roll other classes if they want to dps.
I see druids everywhere I go, rofl. Its sad. Not because people play druid, but because 25 yd caster doesnt work and understandably people rather want to be a boomkin, you know, 40 yards range, dont they also have a pvp disarm talent?, stun, better selfheals, bursty, tanky and being able to cc at will without having to wait 1 minute. Devoker feels unfinished. No wonder people quit it.
We need something… We should be able to cast spells while moving… hover should just increase movement speed…
Well there is one thing I love about devoker and its the aoe… thats it.
I think Dracthyrs should get more classes like Mage and Warrior

Monks aren’t played by a lot of people either and they have access to nearly all races.
But yes, I imagine the looks might deter players when deciding whether or not to play a Dracthyr. Maybe if it looked more like those beefy drakonids on the Isles and less like a nerdy lizard it might help?
This most likely. The class as a whole isn’t really a selling point. It’s locked to a race, has only two specs and one of them is bad.
This or my personal pref, keep it as is but give evoker 4 specs so we can keep the intended vibe for drakthyr but with availability of all roles.
They’ll prolly do classes tho coz they lazy.
No, last thing we need are more classes. We need to rework the current ones. It’s nice to have dracthyr as reptile humans for people who like it. Other classes will be able to play/fight in visage form as dracthyr, evokers stay dragons. Else it would mess up all the visual effects
Huh? You’re the one who said they needed more classes. Not me.
I think they should expand on evoker personally, make it a sort of varied class with many playstyles. That also preserves tha dragon fantasy while allowing them to play tank and melee dps.
More classes can then still be added to drakthyr but at least evokers would be mega cool.
I just assume they’ll leave evoker with 2 specs and slap shaman and such on drakthyr and call it a day. Even if it’s going to be weird being a drakthyr who can’t fly, can’t breathe fire, can’t heal or use the dragonflight powers. It’d be pretty contractive with what they set out to do. But oh well.
