Expert goldminer hat or 9% hit

Hey guys,

I main a NE warrior at the moment and plan to continue with him and a shammy into TBC. My question is if its worth chasing that miner hat at this stage of the game with +7 axe skill as im planning to use it with my recently won cruls edge axe on pair with another like hatchet of sundered bones from Naxx.

I recently crafted Lionheart helm to get that 9% hit. Today I have 10% hit though. Should I had prio the goblin hat instead? I looked at the chart and compared to humans i do lose dps on the auto attacks even with 10% hit.

Are you aware that Blizzard have never said that TBC Classic will be released and that we will maybe know in 2 month?

You lose dps because of glancing blows and possibility of better dps items than the ones that are getting you to 9% hit.
Glancing blows always have a 40% chance of occuring, but it’s the damage penalty that is decreasing the more weapon skill you have.
I’d invest in Edgemasters or Miner’s Hat if I were you.

Yeah. Well the option of Edgemasters aint no option. No way I can afford 4-5k gold for a pair of gloves. Thats why I prefer Goldminer hat. If I only knew this before I would put the Lionheart helm on hold and get the miners hat instead. Will try to farm it in Ulda with my mage though.

If I were you I wouldn’t trade the Lion helm for the Miner. I mean you already invested so much in it and it’s a great helm too.

If you really want the extra skill go for the Edgemaster.
Also it’s anti productive to farm the drop. I think it’s somewhere about 1/1000 chance.
As you already have a mage, and if you got herba on it, you can farm DME to make gold and buy the gloves. I think you can make around 100g/hr depending on the AH prices.

Is Miner Helmet any cheaper tho? On my server it was still going up to 2-3k per. If you can farm 2-3k, you can definitely keep going until 4-5.

I saw it yesterday (the miner helmet) for 1300 Gold on AH. As Bubbless said another way is to farm gold via herbing though. Are any of these items still usable in TBC raiding or will be?

Glancing blows are a huge issue, this is why you “need” Goldminers/Edgies. Hit is whatever, you benefit from it quite a bit even after the yellow cap, so it’d be alright to have 10% or more.

That said, I’d save $$ for TBC, no one cares about you being a fair bit below similarly geared humans this late into Classic.

Neither Goldminers nor Edgies are useful in TBC. Weapon skill is getting a redesign, and expertise is coming.

It drops from a specific rare mob outside, to the best of my knowledge. https:// classic.wowhead com/item=9375/

Should camp his spawn point instead, possibly not much competition these days.

Well, its kinda true. It probably aint worth it at this stage. Guild are now kinda desperate for folks anyways so they probably dont care. But it would have been fun to optimize the warrior to its best. I probably just pair the crulsedge with my recently won Qiraji Ripper not so long ago for now.
