Extremely bad players in classic recently

Genuine question. How hard can this game really be? I’m so tired of this struggle… And quite shocked tbh, even since playing SoD.

How does these people even manage to open doors or tie their shoes irl?

A couple of examples:

Constantly some people are running into and standing in fire until they die. And proceed to repeat it 15 times. How is it even possible to be so bad and not realize that fire is bad to stand in after dying multiple times to it?

Today two guys were aoe-farming in the same area in wpl. It’s appearently advanced rocketscience to just pick a spot at opposite sides and farm there. Why “ninja-tag” 1 mob here and there from eachother? Playing aggro-pingis. It’s just decimating the grind for both players. A paladin rushes in and takes aggro on already tagged mobs, runs away and have to bubble but still dies. The mage is forced to run and reset his pull because of the paladin. Rinse and repeat. This happend so many times. Everyone looses.

The lack of brainactivity on players are completely staggering tbh. Am I the only one noticing this? I have no memory of people being this stupid and bad at the game. What is going on? Sure you could stumble upon a few here and there but this quantity is something else.

Edit: I’m fully aware of the new phenomenon with idiots who ignore interrupting etc just to get better parses and healers who stand in fire for the same reason etc. Those are easily detected but I’m not really talking about that category of bad players.

Those are likely ex-HC players that managed to reach level 10-20. Quite typical

Did you expected something else from greedy paladin filled with Wrath about mage being able to farm better than him in 6th release of 20 years old game? You just witnessed his holy crusade against mage farmers a meaningless and merciless both to his adversary and paladin himself.

You’re playing classic. What do you expect of them tbh?

I guess too much. Wiping 5 times when pugging lowlevel dungeons is just part of it right now I guess. :exploding_head: :confounded:

Not sure why you felt the need to post this. Are you perhaps an alt of “Destroyerx”?.

There have been and there will always be bad players. It´s no different in Cata for example.

I saw his posts but no, I’m not the same person.

I guess I posted 50% out of frustration and 50% out of curiousity to see if I’m the only one who notice how bad it is these days.

Another example from Uldaman a few days ago: Warr tank chainpulls the sides through the tunnel and charges into 15 mobs ahead, we have atleast as many incoming from behind. He wipes us like that 4-5 times in a row before the poor healer and 1 dps just hearthstone and leaves party. Warrior resses and proceed to keep charging into multiple packs again. With me as his only backup. I’m not even sure it’s people playing tbh.

Part of me is tempted to say “wlcome to 2004”… :joy:

This begs the question, did ANYONE actually attempt to tell him this is a bad idea at any time?? Or did it once again, as in most PuGs, all work on the asinine yet widespread assumption that everyone that plays this game does so in a professional capacity and therefore knowy every facet in and out?

Because, no disrespect intended, IMHO anyone that complains about new /bad players and yet doesn´t even attempt to teach them anything, which are unfortunately the vast majority, is 100% part of the problem. It´s always easy to dehumanize others to “Plays like a bot” if you are yourself not acting like a rational human being and instead just assuming that people are taught how to play WoW at a professional level before birth :beers:

Maybe he is a new player. Have you tried to educate him about this wrongdoings?

I did after the first two wipes. He never wrote anything in return though. No confirmation or anything. He just kept on charging.

I have no issues at all with new players making mistakes. That is something completeley different.

Then THe only real excuse is a langauge barrier, as AFAIK that anni realms are all english, but the EU playerbase is not (this was a criticismy levied at them from day 1).

That said, with how widespread the teaching of at least basic english is in schools these days, even in the UK ( sorry, I just had to :joy: ), other less benign explanations like intentional trolling or just doesn´t care unfortunately become more likely… But it could still also just be some kid bombing around on daddy´s account that has the chat in general “deactivated” for obvious reasons.

Best thing you can do when encountering a player that refuses to communicate is simply put them on ignore and never have to deal with their account again…kinda antisocial in a way, but then again so is refusing to communicate in a group game, so you´re just sparing yourself further annoyances from teh same player :beers:

Yeah it’s all possibilities. Usually with language barriers they tend to just spam “?” though.

But idk, perhaps my expectations of clearing and not wiping until disband in lowlevel dungeons is expecting too much these days. :grimacing: I just have never struggled like this when pugging before. To me this all started with the release of SOD.

Seeing a mage dying while AoE farming because 1 mob resisted Frost Nova and they panicked always cheers me up.
No one kicking the heal reduc curse on those undead mobs in SM GY and the tank screaming for heals also never gets old either, only topped by hunter pet pulls and warlocks fearing mobs.
Wiping on deadmines because the mage just randomly body pulls mobs is the real peak tho.

There are millions or tens of millions gamers that play everyday every kind of game . People are bad-mediocre-good players and that totally fine . Having an some specific event of happening and we need to know ? Get a life…

Maybe whisper them .some people dont pay attention to party chat .i had a player like that few days ago in our dungeon and i whispered them that if they want i can tell them an addon that makes sounds when standing in fire. They said thank you and after the dungeon was done .i helped them where to get the addon and which one

That doesnot stop somebody from queueing up and ending up in your party again in low level dungeons

Are you having issues reading? I’m not talking about one specific event. Where did you get that from?

I’m asking if anyone else have noticed the sheer quantity of these players. It’s way more common since SOD that you for example cannot even clear lowlvl dungeons.

Yes, it absolutely does… maybe not on an alt, though now that ignore is account wide it may even have that. It 100% has worked this way since the introduction of LF(x) in wrath and has never changed, you will not ever be autogrouped with plaayers on your ignore list in any randomly queued content.

That is actually great information. I had no clue! Thanks a bunch!

Glad to oblige.

This is BTW why I always say “Ignore, report, in that order” (apart from the act of reporting obscuring the chat, making it harder to ignore)… solve the problem for yourself first, and then help to prevent it happening for others :beers:
