As it currently stands the Firemaw cluster, despite being essentially a mega server is currently heavily alliance dominated to the point where every contested zone you go into is consistently swarming with alliance players. Even what I would considering ‘horde’ zones 1k Needles and Stonetalon, have a massive ally presence and questing out in the open world is nothing short of pain as a horde player.
With player population seemingly on the decline, I’m afraid we’ll end up in a situation where the faction imbalance grows even larger and less and less people are inclined to play horde, or at least level fresh characters the old-fashioned way.
I’d really love to hear what other players have to say on the matter, am I being overly cynical or is this an issue that is just going to get worse as time goes by?

what you have described is not a thing at all when you are 60. server feel balanced and i tend to pvp very often in the evenings and late at night. i would even say server is too quiet to my taste, many alliance i meet are not as big of a challenge because undergeared.
You only see one side of the coin. There are plenty of Hordies at all levels definately, and while i do agree the Alliance does have the population edge. I do still think things are fairly evenly balanced.
Certainly better than Retail which has been Horde dominated for numerous expansions.
Any time I go outside LBRS, Horde are there en masse, go to Yojamba a Horde wont stop ganking me making turn ins impossible, go to BRD, horde are there ganking.
To say Ally outnumber Horde nearly 3-1 on EU PvP yet Horde seem to clearly want to PvP more. Dare ask for any Alliance to come help it’s a fart in the wind for the faction that has more players.
PvE servers are dead as hell too so you can’t even transfer there as it’s pointless.

By this quote you gave me the impression that you are thinking long-term.
Since Leveling is only a temporary phase (which indeed can take longer for some players more than others) in the game. Still - In the end i think you are going to find it just fine.
As for leveling again - If i were you i would embrace meeting the opposite faction more often , and everywhere, this is a PvP server after all. If you are having hard time in pvp i really suggest to put some effort in further developing your combat skills and gather items that will give you the edge in PvP, even if the odds are against you on a 1 v X fight… (classic PvP is so much about consumes)
Some of those skills or changes could be:
*leveling with pvp talents.
*holding in your inventory some game changing consumables:
Swiftness potions
Limited Invulnerability Potions
Health \ Mana potions
Free action potions.
Elixir of fortitude
Stun grenades
and the list of things you could do goes on and on much more than just that (macros, mouseover macros, keybinds, addons, ui changes, pvp trinkets… etc)
And Horde on PvE cluster just gets leveling and level 60 toons transferring from Firemaw
If you play on a big PvP realm in which you can’t monofaction to your own faction then you have to pay the consequences If that’s a problem then play where you should be playing and that’s a PvE cluster.
And faction division has its flaws aside from that.

Not at all. I don’t mind PvP. But we’re supposedly the 3-1 faction Firemaw, where the hell is the backup when you call for it? It’s not the PvP that I find the problem, it’s that Horde actually do PvP and if you call for help as Alliance no sod comes.
Not being able to do my turn ins in Yojamba gets a bit irritating when I need the rep.
It’s honestly making me wish I rolled Horde. They seem to have a spine.
Firemaw is in cluster with almost all other populated English PvP realms. This means you play together with practically all speaking English as first, second or third language AND liking/ chosing PvP.
There’s totally nothing Blizz or anybody can do to make this more balanced short of forcing people to play in PvP servers
If that’s a problem then play where you should be playing and that’s a PvE cluster.
