I know there are already a few of these but the more we post the more likely Blizz will do something. The spawn timers for this are way too long for such a low drop rate. It’s ridiculous. Please balance with either a high/ guaranteed drop with long timer or make the spawn regular. Mount collecting is a big part of WoW but this really sucks for suck a cool mount. 2/3 groups have been 8+ hours. This is not content! This is not fun. Please treat the player’s time better.

I disagree, why change the spawn timers, there is no prestige in getting it easily, if getting this mount requires patience so be it, sometimes this is what it takes, you choose to do this kind of content you must face what it takes to obtain said item
There needs to be a balance. There is some value in working for mounts with the sense of accomplishments but the FC wait and pray isn’t "content imo. I have patience and have done many mount and transmog runs numerous times but those are active things. There is also a difference from weekly runs to waiting for an unknown time unable to do anything else or trying to get into groups that are up with little success. Lots of ppl don’t have 14 hours of free time to camp a place doing nothing. Its non-content. Such long timers with low spawns can be unobtainable for some unless super super lucky. You can have your own opinion but as lot of people are finding issue with the timers/ spawn rate it shows its a problem. There is nothing wrong with asking Blizz to consider this and hopefully make it more player friendly.

I would have preferred it to be some kind of quest. The mechanic of forcing players to WAIT for a spawn for a CHANCE for the mount to drop… is just not okay anymore.
The times where “fat nerds” sat on the PC for 20 hours a day to grind and grind and grind nonstop on Diablo for an item with a “higher number” is long gone. Games like Diablo or PoE are not popular anymore. People want fast games that do not take their entire day and more.
The idea that you need to wait 7 hours for 1 spawn and then you have a 5% chance to get the mount is absurd. Especially that this can be repeated. It really feels like Blizzard is just trying to keep people online. Maybe I am paranoid but to me it feels a lot like they want you to stay online non-stop waiting around so you don’t go and play FFXIV. If you could only kill it once a day you’d go kill your few rares every day and go play FFXIV but it’s not possible if you have to be online at all times.

i dont think theres any prestige in luck. its not like it takes any skill to camp a rare. it has also very little to do with patience. i mean its a game, we re supposed to have fun and i think the majority does have patience and doesnt mind waiting for a certain amount of time, but when it feels like you have zero chance getting it if you dont camp 24/7 then theres something wrong.
waiting isnt fun or engaging, its frustrating.
its just a huge time waster. they either need to increase the drop chances or keep the low drop rates but decrease the respawn time.

I am fine with the long wait but the fact that the drop % is so ridiculesly low is just mnd numbing. Some of us dont have any luck though we try, so come on blizz. Change this.

the game should be engaging and provide a challenge not just require me to put on Loki plus a seasonal anime as i wait for an addon to announce the rare is up
Secret mounts of fast spawns but hard fight say make its scale o world boss level of damage dealt if a 40 man tags it

I think spawn time should be max 7h.
As someone who killed it 4 timed already with no luck I agree.
“fallen up” group are impossible to get into because the very second you click “list” you get like 4858447 request instantly.
And thus even fallen up require you to sit there queuing every group you see and hope to be chosen.
Time Lost proto drake have a huge spawn time but at least it was guaranteed.

Don’t join a camping group, just join groups with the charger up already, might take a few tries to get in a group before it fills up but it’s waaay faster than waiting for hours.
It is pretty bad.
This rare is pretty much ‘Fabious’ from BFA all over all again, but… without the 100% obtain chance.

There are things that should be changed in the game and then there are things that shouldn’t. I camped this mount for 30 minutes and didn’t get it. I said screw it! And hence I do not deserve it. Its really cool looking though, glad they made it a bit grindy (even though all you need to do is stand still for maximum 8 hours with 5% drop chance).
Spawn times are not an issue if you’re using discord servers for alarms and abuse sharding via custom groups.
Here’s what you need to do OP to have an easy time getting your gilded pony:
- Turn on War Mode
- Set your Hearth in SW
- Go to Ve’nari’s Refuge
- Open up Custom in Group Finder interface
- Type in “fallen”
- Keep refreshing until you find one which describes it as UP
- If the group is WM ON then join
7a) If the group is WM OFF then turn off WM then join
Ideally you want to do back to back kills, first on WM ON then go back to Venari to find a group with WM OFF and maybe another WM OFF if you’re lucky. If there isn’t anything up then hearth back to SW to turn back WM ON and go back to Venari.
The mount isn’t even all that rare because it has no loot lockout.

I am not sure the WM trick is worth it honestly. Groups form up so quickly that if you waste time starting at venari & turning off WM there is a high chance you will miss the tag.
My advice is to wait at midway between tremaculum & crucible, on the river side opposite to venari. This way you have the 3 most common spawn (tremaculum, crucible & soulforge) not far should you find a group.
Of course there is so much people trying to join right now that entering a group is tricky, you have to apply 3-5seconds max after group creation if you want to hope joining it.
But on the longer run, when attendance will drop a bit & join group will be easier, this will probably one of the easiest rare drop mount to farm.
Plus there is way more groups forming for WM off than WM on so I would advise WM off, however WM on groups don’t fill up that quickly, so it is much easier to join.
I have farmed it on Horde so it might be different slightly on alliance side thought, but probably not that much.
I personally got it on my 26th kill, having farmed a lot of rares with low drop since BFA using LFG, I think that this one is relatively easy. For now it is a pain in the buff due to veryhigh attendance, but this problem will resolve itself at some point & it will be one of the easiest low drop to get.

There is a very simple reason why. Because getting the mount right now will take you 2-3 days (if really unlucky) while getting it in2 years from now might take you 2-3 months of non stop afk camping. This game design is extremely toxic. All you have to do is stand afk and wait. There is nothing prestigious about being afk and watching YouTube videos.
9 times? Pf and you consider that effort? It took me 46 tries to get it and I still think they thing the spawn timer should be shortened drastically.

Imagine considering staying afk spamming “sign up” to be considered an effort or content by some people.
And that without considering how bad this kind of mount get as the exp get older.
(or without considering the insane amount of bait group that keep their fallen up for 1 min and then delist)

While we were camping for it earlier today, some warlock dude was defending the long timer by being a test for perseverense. As the mount spawned and we were just about to search for it, he got removed by the raid leader who took someone else. I didnt notice it till he mentioned that the lock can surely persevere through another camp. The mount didnt drop but we found the situation quite funny.
2-4 hours is fine
