Hello I`m making this topic , because of the way the 6 month subscription is currently being presented in the battle net client .
Log in to your battle net client and in the news section you will the Advertisement about the new mount and kettle for the 6 month Subscription .
When you click to check further it send you to the subscribe page .
Now this is all fine until you check the Pricing .
Notice how it is depicted ?
EUR 65.94 previous price (crossed out in gray) EUR 77.94 -15 %
This is a total LIE . Take out your calculator and do the math .
65.94 divided by 6 months =10.99
77.94 divided by 6 months = 12.99
If you check the prices above you will see what I mean .
The 6 month subscription HAS NEVER costed 77.94 or 12.99 per month . For the last few years it HAS AWAYS BEEN 65.94 or 10.99 per month .
The Advertisement tries to imply that you will save 15 % of the 6 month subscription , when in fact it is simply comparing what you “would” save if you were on a 1 month subscription .
There is no explanation anywhere regarding this . Honestly these kind of tricks are done by shady companies in lawless countries . Why is this allowed ? I`m sure there is a law forbidding this in every EU country .

Think carefully for a moment because nothing that you said makes any sense. What they imply in that advertisement is that paying for one 6-month subscription is cheaper than paying that same time on a 1-month subscription. Of course, they made the advertisement with people that are not currently on that type of subscription. Think about it, you are already paying that, don’t you think it would be stupid for any company to make an advertisement to convince you to pay for a service that you’re already paying for?
The advertisement is not misleading. They are only explaining that people that are not actually paying the 6-month subscription are paying 77.94 per 6 months but they could have paid 65.94 instead. That is saving 15%, is pure math, so is not an opinion, is a fact.
The advertisement is not misleading, is you who are misled into believing that any advertisement is made with you in mind. It is not, especially this one, this one is made deliberately with excluding you in mind because you are already paying a 6-month subscription.

And guess how much a month of sub cost ?
12.99 exactly, which means that you save 15% by buying your sub in packs of 6 months.
Congrats, you had an obvious solution in front of you but you forgot to use your brain before posting.

If you want the mount: sub for 6 months. If you want to buy the mount and expect to play less than 4 months in the upcoming 6 months, BUY the mount.
Bye

Not sure which is the bigger worry, the fact that the OP got it so wrong, or the fact that the post has 2 likes!

I have just had a look, its linking to the American page and showing USD…
To the people that think this is correct .
Do you see anywhere on the page an explanation that is comparing the 6month price to the one month price ?
Do you see any explanation at all ?
No.
Why aren`t we than comparing the 6 month and the 3 month subscription then ?
Your assumption is that the subscription is a single product . That is not the case .
The subscription is sold on bundles and these bundles are separate products .
I repeat again nowhere on the page is there an explanation that you are comparing different products .
Instead the buyer is let into a belief that the old price for the 6 Month bundle is 77.94 and the new price for the same 6 Month Bundle is 65.94 . This is obviously not the case as you yourselves confirmed . Hence this is false advertisement .

So, what do you suggest doing then?
but…why would you, or anyone else, think that? nowhere does it state that the 77.94 is an old price for the 6 month sub. its the price you d save if you purchased everything individually.
I suggest them fixing this , by providing an explanation for what the price actually means instead of the current situation . If they want us to compare prices thats all good , but don
t lead people into wrong assumptions .

Yes. It lists all three options with prices, and clearly says below the 3/6 month subs how much you save per year. It’s right above the big 6-month sub thing with the crossed, greyed-out text.

Click any of the 6/3/1 month subs, and the text below changes too, highlighting how much you save with the subscription you selected.

There is no explanation because there is no need to have any explanations. They assume that people are smart enough to understand that the objective of an advertisement of a service is to sell it to people who are not paying for that service.
Because that is how advertisement works, comparing the best scenario with the worst scenario. If is still true for people paying 3 month subscription, they still could have been paying 77.94 in a one month subscription.

So, the fact that this has been the way it has been advertised for the last number of promotions, means nothing to you?
Personally, I understand perfectly what is being shown, namely if you purchase 6 months individually, you pay more than if you purchased the bundle. Honestly, do you think that a business would advertise the same offer for years if it was wrong?

Thank you for the nice screenshots . It shows exactly what I mean .
Now go and find any other promotion on battle net and see how it is depicted . For instance promotions for reduced price on toys , games ets . They are depicted exactly the same , however there the meaning is that the old value was reduced to new value due to promotion .
Also the fact that you understand and he understands and someone else understands , doesn`t mean that everyone will understand .
A few years ago in the billing section of the account it was clearly explained what you would save by buying each subscription and it mentioned compared to which subscription you would save how much .
To be fair, out of this entire thread, the only person who doesn’t seem to understand is you, despite being informed how the ads worked!
Now you have been shown how it works, why feel the need to continue with the thread?
Edit. It’s beginning to look like it’s just another pointless dig at big bad Blizzard

It’s pretty darn clear from the picture what it means, as the explanation is right above. If that isn’t clear enough, clicking on any of the other options will make it crystal clear.
If that’s not clear enough for you, you shouldn’t be buying subscriptions on your own.

I’m not sure why you are finding it confusing but lets see if we can help with that.
If you have a recurring subscription with World of Warcraft that renews every month, you would be charged ÂŁ9.99 a month, so if over a six month period you have opted for the monthly recurring sub, you will pay ÂŁ59.94.
If you buy the deal, which is to sub in six month blocks, you pay ÂŁ52.14, this means you are basically paying ÂŁ8.69 per month but because you are buying it in bulk, you are getting a 13% discount.
The benefit for the player (providing they are actually playing World of Warcraft) is that they pay ÂŁ7.80 less for the same period. If you allow your sub to renew on the six monthly sub basis you will save ÂŁ15.60 over a 12 month period compared to those who subscribe to the game on a month to month basis.
All that information is presented in that screenshot I supplied above. I live in the UK so I’m showing you the prices in GBP.

And I am starting to believe that you are also able to understand that you always understand it. Your opinion sounds so stupid that the only logical conclusion is that it is fake, I believe you are lying when saying that is what you understand about the advertisement. That means you are just a troll who has nothing best to do than trolling. If everyone understands it and you don’t maybe that means there is nothing wrong with the advertisement, instead is you the one who is wrong.

If you believe I’m trolling your free to do so .
I`m kind of astonished by how many people believe that an assumption is equal to reality .
It is further more astonishing how you believe that your assumptions are that of others .
Yes you can get confused about the above .
Yes you can lead people to court about it.
And no you can`t defend against it , because assumption is not a legal argument .
It is the reason why on your coffee cup or heck even on the hot water taps in England it says beware hot water . Just because you assume that something is as is , is not the case unless it is stated properly .
Twice more when it involves money .
Regardless feel free to assume what you want .
