Hey all,
Some say some areas better to farm for potential loot than others.
Anyone able to suggest an area for level 40 warlock?
Looking to try to make bit of gold as gave a chunk of gold to brother to help him buy his mount.
I have skinning if helps but looking for area that will give some XP but good farm area if poss.
There’s an area in Feralas, the same place you pick up the Sprite Darter Hatchling chain that has a whole village full of Grimtotem Tauren, all packed quite close together.
It’s probably been nine years since I was there myself, but I do remember that they used to have a pretty fast respawn rate and made for quite good farming. Best of all, not too people know about this area.
Feralas again - the Yeti caves are excellent for farming, and are also skinning, though on very busy servers there’s a good chance you’ll need to compete with others during peak periods.
Finally - turtles in Hinterlands, right on the beach area at the bottom of the cliffs, close to the Horde town. Might be a problem on PvP servers if the zone is busy, but lots and lots of turtles, all neutral, save for one patrolling elite, Gammerita, who can be easily avoided.
They’re around L49, so you might be struggling even on a Lock at 40 - but worth bearing in mind for a few levels later.

Tails stack for 35 silver, eyes for 70
Cold eye Basilisks in STV and Whelps in Swamp of Sorrows are pretty popular farming spots. In fact you might find it too popular. My adivice is, look for mobs with grey vendor trash with high price. And don’t stay in any spot with competition. If you can’t farm it without downtime, you just wasting your time. For example when I found out I can tag a Basilisk in like every 1 minute, I went to kill panthers, each whisker sells for 9 silver and it drops on every 2nd or 3rd kill.
That’s awesome. Thanks everyone for the great replies!
