Fast consumption of content

Mmorpgs are my fav genre.
There are still sites to be seen here, looking good and all.
Quests are solid too.
But why fast thru it?
gear will be there, and belive me you will apriciate it more if it took more time to get it.
You order a nice burger, with all the ingridiens.
And eat it in two bites.
But it was good anyways.
But why so fast.
Wouldnt it be more if we slowered the pace?
im glad blizz didnt get worse with content anyways even tho they put new content at light speed.
Wish they hold their own more tho,and made us go slower to that ultimate end game.
I miss slower pace.
And i want to play retail.
I wana chew that burger and taste every ingridient.
Im just hoping blizz will make one azeroth with all expacs all content aviable to play…
I would take my time and slowly enjoy it all.

Paragraphs are underrated.

not sure what you mean, wow is not gw2

Meanwhile almost everything is on a timer. Either literally or by social standing.

You can do the story slowly but that burger isn’t made from quality ingredients.

Not that gear would be pointles. End game would give End game gear

saying this as if people didn’t rush to kill Ragnaros on the first official classic release to the point their team wasn’t even full lvl 60s yet LMAO it’s all up to the playerbase it has nothing to do with how blizzard make their game
based blizzard <3

If people can rush they will rush. Game is simply too easy on retail outsid of highest difficulty levels.

Some tasty wood shavings in mine, makes for great filler.

I think I understand what you mean.
Had my smol experience with Retail endgame loop at the end of Dragonflight.
I came to the conclusion that today’s Retail is not an MMORPG.
But rather a seasonal game.
Basically only the latest content matters.
And gives you players to play with.
Resetting progress every season/expansion.
And yet, im the weirdo who is still sandboxing in the Shadowlands all by herself.
Simple life.

You could do achievements. I think some of them take months to complete.
You could also farm honor levels, I think those take a while as well + you get a cool mount.
And what about Mists of Pandaria Classic? Took me 2-hours to complete the starting zone for pandaren. x)

Whats going on in your avatar Lully, thats pretty wicked look :astonished:

Gnomish shenanigans! :exploding_head:
My model points a large sword into the frame, doing this trick.

Because it feels like some people no longer play for enjoyment, they see content as something that needs to “get done” instead. Don’t really understand it either.

the content isnt the quests or the exploration . at least not the way Blizzard do it

we dont want to kill X amount of boars every patch cycle

quests and exploration would be better if it was more less predictable

What are you even saying everything in this expansion and even before was extremely timegated.

I’m not sure what you are finding too fast. Season 2 for example ran from 5th March and Season 3 will start on 13th August.

Most people have achieved what they want this season and we are more or less in down time. How many months do you need to consume your burger?

I personally do not want things to be slower. Levelling is in a good place, though I appreciate that some may want it to be slower and don’t like locking their xp at regular intervals. A slow down xp gain buff via a tabard would solve that issue IMO.

As for end game. At the start of seasons you do the most gearing up, then it lessens over the season and at the end you tend to have more downtime. Some take breaks, others will do more trivial content, farm etc at this point.

Yeah wow went from being a “tactical” game with exploration and a slow burn to a tiktok brain game.

Who can mash their buttons better. Zero downtime in combat, no time to think, just consume/mash buttons. Doesn’t help either that spells hit like wet noodles until you stack 1 billion modifiers, then it oneshots.

Wow also lacks from meaningful character progression that doesn’t require your full attention. Mostly because you need to be a pianist to play your class nowadays. Yeah you can use OBR but that’s just a band aid fix to a bigger problem.

Even flying requires your full attention now with dragonriding. Switching flight styles is not the solution because its OBJECTIVELY SLOWER. Another band-aid fix.

How about we just go to the root cause instead.

Some enjoy the journey, others the destination. A lot of people want there to just be an end-game lobby. You have to choose your own pace, gating content has never been welcome.

I think you misunderstand his point, he’s not advocating for time-gated content.
