Fat "Kachink" pig mount of $$$ on day 1 of mythic race?

I actually have plenty of great ideas for Blizzard store.
Like those small locked boxes you used to randomly find, instead of having rogue to lock pick it they could just remove lock picking and sell the keys for 3.99. Great price, also if you buy 6 months subscription you will also get 1 key for free only this week (and probably next and um forever or something. Also up the price of 6 month sub by 3.99).

They really should hire me.

Now that is pay to win (they’d drop loot right?) and should not be allowed in sub-based game.

That’s the thing why they are so addictive you never know what you get. I mean it’s probably worthless, but you never know.

Uhm you are not saying that you would be fine with it if it had like a random mount or a pet in them?

With all due respect, what an incredibly ignorant opinion to call the backlash an overreaction.

Releasing a store mount every 6-8 months would be perfectly acceptable. However BFA is struggling due to the community discontent and so it’s obvious that their timed Dreadwake promotion (which is going to be on the store too) along with now releasing yet another store mount only six weeks after they released one is to compensate for lost sub revenue, that and it’s nothing but terrible timing yet again (whether it’s Chinese New Year or not, that’s just an excuse for them to monetize another mount so soon after the last one) and a worrisome precedent for BFA’s life-cycle.

What to do with the topic of this thread though?

(unless you are saying that WoW is near to ftp model)

It’s not near, it speeded right past it. Selling cosmetics is a free to play model, or at least it used to be. WoW has this free to play model with subscription and the actual game costs money.

But Shu-zen was released in the same time because of the same reason as Hogrus.

Ofc Dreadwake deal was to make players to pay for 6 months, but if someone is not happy about the state if the game, could really one mount make them to buy it?

Have you played any game that went from sub-based to ftp, because WoW is as far as it can be…

I don’t care about those, free to play games make money by selling cosmetics. It’s a free to play model. Wow makes money by the initial game release, expansions and subscription. Then they add in the free to play model of selling cosmetics.

Then they should have held off on releasing the Vulpine Familiar. Two store mounts in 6 weeks is absolutely unacceptable. The cash shop is just getting worse and worse. The “See You Later” bundle was also a matter of manipulation by presenting it as artificial scarcity to incentivize purchases.

Promotional items and cosmetics are in these games for a long time though.

In ftp game, you can actually end up paying way more than for sub-based game and only for essential things.

Yes, Vulpine familiar should have been postponed. See you later bundle was a nasty deal, I won’t argue about that.

You clearly typed that with no respect but I’m not going to insult you back. It does make me laugh that people think saying 'with all due respect somehow negates whatever nasty thing comes to follow. It doesn’t.

People have been hating on the store since the very two pets were sold. I loved it when Dalaran was full of celestial steeds during Wrath. It was a great sight.

So no I will never understand the over reactions that surface from a loud minority every time a new optional item is added to the store.

They could’ve added it to the event it correlates to INGAME like the Lunar Festival.

Yeah, all of these mounts/pets are optional and in WoW we can even buy them with gold. I just do not like them enough, so I do not pay attention to them, is it really that hard for some people to understand?

I am fine with that, at least free to play games don’t try to get money from me in every way possible. Like some unnamed subscription games that goes around with the codename of WoW. :rage:

I am 100% fine with spending money on cosmetics in free to play games like Dota2. I’ve played it for 7k hours so I think the developers have earned their penny, so I buy a skin or 2 from their shop.

People love promotional cosmetic (and “meaningless”) items. This one is for Chinese for their celebration of New Year, we should not even have access to Shu-zen and Hogrus, but we have via the store.

I’d love if mounts were given for participating in festivals

Come again? I’m not pulling my punches here, no, but I don’t see how calling your opinion ignorant is meant to be interpreted as ad hominem. I apologize if you think I’m personally attacking you.

However more often than not Jito and you sugarcoat grievances the community have with the business practices as of late, and I especially think this is apparent by pointing out that the mounts can be purchased with in-game gold. Yes, they can, however that doesn’t remove the reason why people are upset. They make more revenue because of the people buying the tokens with real money in the first place, and the entire point is that the community’s bearing area is being exploited by the prevalent appearance of the shop lately. Dreadwake promotion, Vulpine Familiar, See You Later Bundle and now this.

Edit: You claim that it’s a loud minority that is upset. I’m going to refer you to the like/dislike ratio of the promotional video in the OP.

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I think the little wings are super cute.

I think the only mount or mount deal I never did was Tyrael’s Charger. I quit in Cata so it would have been a waste of money.

They could, but they chose not to.

In other news, they added more than a dozen mounts to the game with patch 8.1. They could all have been put on the Online Store, but they chose not to.

Glass half full or half empty?

The counter argument here is to say that the quiet majority doesn’t press the like button.
