Fear has no pathing rules

Has fear always worked this way in vanilla? In the sense that if i get feared my character just ignores any and all pathing restrictions it has when im moving normally?

Yes.
Getting stuck in walls/objects is nothing new when feared honestly, sadly.

Alright, then they must have changed it somewhere in some expac. Because i thought fear followed conventional pathing rules, unlike charge or pet callback or whatever. Guess not

I don’t know how it worked in Vanilla but I know the way paths work today is bugged, be it fear, mobs, pets, whatever.

Back then people used fear to get into old Ironforge…

It works the same as it did in vanilla, fast run speed going through/into semi-solid objects and pathing up terrain that might otherwise be impossible.

I believe it because that bug has been around for many years. Until late TBC you could also be feared below Stormpike’s bunker (and you’d fall through the ground and eventually die… of fatigue, oddly enough).

It’s still the kind of bug I don’t quite understand, since from my point of view obstacles should be the same; it’s just movement would be dictated by the server instead of the client.
