So I think that by default people should join the LFG channel.
Or blizzard should make it more obvious that it exists.
With Classic we are back to the stoneage and some stuff is not great.
Like the fact that Trade is being used more to spam LFG/LFM than it is used for trading. What people type here is spammed away super fast, and it causes people to spam even more because nothing is being read which just causes a chain reaction of spamming.
Right now the people looking to do dungeons are split between trade chat and LFG chat. This should be all in 1 chat it only makes sense.
But unless it’s an actual fix by blizzard it will never get better. If I ask people in trade to go to LFG they just swear at me.

Can you report them for spamming?
It makes sense to look for people in the most crowded places!
Are u going to look for people to help u in an allyway or on the open square…
Think about it plz before asking for changes.
First of all reported for being a dick, and secondly,
I’m talking about the way blizzard structured it and this is causing the open square to become 2 smaller open squares instead…
There could be one HUGE square where people LFG if it was more obvious there is actually such a channel. Most people LFG in trade don’t even know there is a LFG channel because it only exists if you /join it. It should be np to find a group if everyone looking for a group was actually in the same channel.
It makes way more sense to have all the LFG centralized in 1 chat so that you don’t have to search for it in other places.
And it does not help people who are trying to trade either because their trades are constantly spammed away by LFG searchers.
I keep telling guildies about it, and people who don’t ever post in it that I see spamming trade/world/general.
Would seem more useful to be included by default.

It’s a flaw from vanilla. The LFG channel is so obscure, that it’s not even worth using, because people who are actually looking for a group, are looking in Trade chat by default.
It needs to be a default, cross-city chat channel.
Ofc it would make sense, But that is only if every one does it. Sadly people don’t care/bother to.
How would u get everyone to use the Lfg channel without restricting them to not use other channels for lfg/lfm ???
Kick them? from those channels? y r…
I don’t have a problem with people advertising in multiple channels but LFG can be seen anywhere and is more useful to find people in.

Yeah that’s ofc a problem which I realize as well.
A problem caused however by the fact that Blizzard didn’t do anything about it.
But yeah moderating wow ingame chat is impossible and will never be done so it could not be prevented either way I agree.
But at the very least the LFG channel should be entered by default so that people at least know it exists. And perhaps slowly but surely it would become a channel that is used.
The main issue I have with this is just that they intentionally did not want any LFG addons or features in the game itself(which I’m all for) but then they make it extra hard to actually find people through the chat as well.

I can tell u that on PS u were assigned automatically to a LFG channel and it never took off.
[World] is the place to be for LFG and bants. Especially the bants.
I don’t know what PS is but I see that the lookingforgroup channel is used enough in WoW
If everyone who logged into WoW for the first time would start seeing that channel from the getgo because it’s default join there would be no doubt in their minds as to what channel they should use when they start looking for groups in the future.

PS = private server, and no it didn’t make people use /lfg, because /world was the dominant channel with most people in it.
I don’t know? For some reason I’ve been seeing people looking for people to run UBRS in Wetlands. Who tf is gunna be 50+ or 60 or whatever there. (Except the odd couple of people doing the onyxia chain)
that is prob just a mistake of copy pasting while still in the /general chat
I get trade chat, but worldchat? To each their own with rules and such, but its not like anyone uses wchat to much else than finding/making groups
Dunno about that. I joined it breifly last night and all I saw were
posts
The LookingForGroup channel can be seen anywhere, unlike the trade channels.
On HW hardly anyone uses world chat, most of the spam is in the LFG chat, once people realised everyone can see their pearls of wisdom/be bombarded with spam, wherever they are. I have more people on ignore from the lfg channel than anywhere else.
It would make sense for everyone to auto join it.
Why though?
Having no trouble finding groups without it as a dps of any sort.
Also seems to be a higher percentage of sensible people outside of it.
