I dont know a single person who rerolled from horde to alliance due to q. They just quit the game instead.

Hey Team,
Change was fantastic for me as a player, I solely focus on PvP and battleground was my go too always, this change allowed me to play the game with normalised queue.
Pre testing I work 0700-1900 2x day shift and 1900-0700 2x night shift so I get around 3 days a week to play, even if I was lucky I could get 3x 10 hour sessions in a week that would only give me 8-9 games a day.
During the testing period I have been able to play around 30-40 games a session.
For the alliance, your focusing too much on “HORDE GET THIS HORDE GET THAT” “we are so hard done by”, I have also seen countless posts regarding horde high queue times with alliance laughing stating “reroll alliance”, Since the game came out it has always been horde dominated on PvP, Alliance mostly played PvE I moved from Alliance to Horde back in 2006 due to lack of interest from Alliance side to PvP.
If your faction is dying you cant say the only reason to join alliance is for faster queue times, all you are doing is slowly killing the game because, speaking for myself if this change does not happen rather than moving to alliance I will be forced to unsub, I understand I am one player and do not matter but in the grand scheme of things, you will have less Horde, and less alliance and the game will die in the entirety.
If people don’t want to play alliance they don’t want too. Stop forcing the issue.

Quite frankly when I continued playing the game as horde into TBC I did not even consider or think about the fact that I would have to sit hours in queue, I did (obvioulsy) not continue playing horde for the racials (ud warrior) I continued playing the game as horde because everyone I knew was horde, the same reason I originally started on horde. For the people.
Is it too far fetched to belive that others had the same thought process as me?
I really do not buy the whole “Rolled alliance for the short queues” bit. A few, maybe. The majority? Enough to destroy the faction? Hardly.
I completely understand your point by the way, I understand your concerns, but I do belive you are blowing it out or proportion.
It is I’m sure an incentive to play alliance- but only for the most hardcore minmaxing players, which again is the minority and wont really have a long lasting effect on the faction as a whole.

Any people leaving alliance on my server, will cause the game to be worse for me, and the worse the game gets the more incentive there is to stop.
I simply don’t want my experience, of the game to dwindle. like you don’t want to wait for hour long ques, which I understand. but we don’t need to have one or the other, if we simply balance racials or remove them from instanced PvP, we avoid the issue all together. because if there’s virtually even incentive to play either, both will be picked at almost the same rate.
I have a question tho, if you picked for friends what did you friend pick for? the first friend that pulled everyone with them picked horde for what? I’m curious.
I actually play alone, I just solo queue BG and do 2s every so often for cap.
Racials are not a huge issue in battleground, Dwarfs actually have one of the best priest racials in the game.
But to show you how mentality works its players see players and join. Alot of people Horde is the most popular choice. Get a few famous youtubers/streamers to play alliance for a stream and see what happens.
But I am all for removing racials or better yet …
Allow us to pick 2x racials one offensive, one defensive, that way everyone can min max if that’s what floats their boat, and there will be no beneficial factor choice and characters are appearance only, however if big streamers / youtubers play one or the other the appeal for one or the other will sway.

As I said, I understand your concerns and I belive them to be genuine unlike many others, but I honestly do not think it’s going to be much of an issue all thing said and done.
I also do agree that to even the playing field they should restrict racials to not be usable in arena, but it’s activison blizzard we’re talking about here, I don’t think they are going to go too deep into the issue before it’s too late sadly.
It’s been a while ago, it was a close vote between alliance and horde. We’re pretty much 20-40 people from the same city/province, horde simply just won the majority vote, i’m sure some wanted the racials, but I don’t think anyone acctually anticipated tbc to even be released when faction was discussed.
Regardless, It’s suddenly 5:14 in the morning- all this discussion aint good for sleeping pattern.
best change ever made, i logged back on after server shut down to do more bgs with some buddies and the queue times are already giving us aids.
please bring back instant queues ok?
Just to add to the alliance part…
AV queues (unaffected by change IE not included)
Pre patch queue time was 1 hour - 1 hour 30 mins
Post patch queue time was 20 minutes - 30 minutes
This clearly indicates both sides benefitted from the change as more people were playing battleground at this time including alliance!

Speak for yourself this is a terrible change for Alliance
AV queues are shorter as alliance casuals went there to avoid premades and to avoid fighting their own faction as it goes against the spirit of the game.

I had so much fun when i could actually play the game and did not have to wait for 1 hour just to end up with a loss. Now i could actually play the game without having to forfeit all the progress i have put into my character by changing faction. it is sad to see so much hate from alliance that horde finally had the same que system and all the " just change faction " statements. Why can’t we all just play the game and have the same que times as we had for these days.
Logged on and tried joining a BG again at 6 AM in the morning, it went from 1 min que with this change this early to 1 hour again and i just left the ques instantly.
I hope these same faction BG ques will come back and stay, it is the best change i have seen to pvp in classic so far and i welcome it back with open arms.

Queues are back to 30min - 1hr. Imposible to gear again and play the game/arena.
The integrity of arena is already messed up with alliance having full gear. Not a fan of turning it off.
As much as some alliance players hate it, the main selling point of TBC is competitive arena. If you compromise it, the game will die.

Change Faction cmonnnnnnnnnn ! Horde > Aliance
Horde has a lot more PvP players which helps you to find partners for arena and bg’s. Horde is winning pug bg’s a lot more than alliance because of this also. Try rolling an ally and then come boast about our high honor per hour.
Same faction battleground doesn’t fight this imbalance at all. There has to be a better solution or give some incentive to keep playing alliance PvP also.
