It’s live on EU. I just had an instant wsg queue pop and we played vs the horde. Much needed change to the game, arguably the best decision Blizzard has made the past 10 years. Ty for saving TBC, at least for me personally.

anyone who complains about horde racials has never been over 1.4k in ranked arena. only the worst and most pathetic losers compalin about it. you are one of them

If this is kept, it’ll be a very sad day for WoW Classic.
- The queue times were the only reason to play Alliance if you wanted to do any PvP. With better racials, more PvP oriented players, higher win-rate Horde will be the only option for PvPers.
- This will cause even more faction inbalance. The open world is already unplayable on many servers for Alliance, this will make it even worse.
- It’s an easy and cheap fix that doesn’t solve the underlying problem of faction inbalance. Balance racials, nerf WOTF, give some initiative to play Alliance, not buff Horde even more.
- The change is completely disrespectful to the spirit of the game. I understand that #somechanges may be good for the game, but not changes like this.
It’s a game breaking change for many players, myself included. It’s just sad that Blizz is destroying their own game again. What’s next, LFG Tool and cross server dungeons, because it takes too long to find a party?

So why weren’t the test period changes just implemented immediatly? It was a huge sucess and an improvement for the majority of the playerbase. The only more change we need now is that premades should only be able to queue into other premades to make games more fair.
Battlegrounds
- The new battleground matchmaking system is now implemented and active. This system allows the battleground to select teams of similar equipment quality and organizational level to battle each other. For now, the system will be very forgiving about creating matchups in order to keep queue times low. However, the parameters will be adjusted as necessary when more organized teams become active in the battlegrounds.
This was put into the game during original TBC because premades was as big of a cancer back then as it is now. I do fully understand people doing premades but putting them up against people who are queuing solo/duo is just too unfair.
The part about gear going into the calculations too to make it even more fair is not something I’m personally a fan of, but it’s a small downside of getting rid off all the premade groups.
I hope Blizzard can make the right choice for a healthy PvP scene atleast in Classic TBC.

That wasn’t my point. I am not a fan of calling anyone selfish. We all want something that benefits us. It feels a bit ridiculous to call anyone selfish if we all have our requests on here.
If the horde players that want to pvp are not roaming outland in search of gankable targets but are in battlegrounds instead, won’t it help rebalancing open world pvp?
I don’t know how it is personally, I decided that I don’t want to get ganked during questing so I selected a PvE server.
Can we also nerf the human stealth detection thing while we’re in the business of nerfing racials? Or just remove all racials, I’m fine with that too. I hope your draenei players won’t mind.

So having the same que time is not fair for everyone? Most hord player just play pvp and most alliance player don’t. Just think about what you are writing we are not talking about that hord have 15-20 min que we have more than 1 hour ques this is not playable!!
Best example for this is Gnome racial, probably one of the best racials ever for PvP in general even if you compare it to horde racials.

Situational. In early seasons especially ally racials are insane as getting a sap on an enemy rogue for example via perception will literally win you games. Dwarf racial is the best for priest, better than wotf.
This is probably true, allys dont care about pvp which is the problem. If they actually qued bgs we would not have this problem.
Source? I have played a lot of bgs and sometimes I win a lot in a row and sometimes I lose everything. In reality I would argue it is close to 50-50, but since nobody has any proper data to show it is kind of pointless to you (or me) state such things
Yes, due to the fact that hordes actually want to play pvp.
Some yes, but not that much. People who are 70 and have arena teams and guilds ready and full pvp gear are not going to suddenly reroll horde and start all over again. Some late joiner andys will probably pick horde, but it won’t be a significant difference.
That’s why you can migrate to an ally populated realm or go to a PvE realm if you don’t like wpvp
Still won’t make a difference. 99% of people won’t be changing sides and starting all over again when they have just finished gearing up and finding people and guilds to play with. Even if you removed all racials from bgs/arenas it would not move the needle at all. Horde is overall much more popular and it is not only due to PvP. Most people play horde so obviously their friends will join horde as well, regardless of the racials or bg ques.

The implementation of the same faction battleground was not only a relief, but it is an absolute necessity. Without it horde side player can no longer play the game PvP-wise. It is good for Alliance player too. With this system in place, we are no longer FORCED to insta kill any alliance we see in open world for the honor he’s worth, since we can actually play in battlegrounds for the honor.
The test was a complete success IMO. Please implement it permanently, as being able to play PvP again was glorious. I didn’t have to gank alliance in the world as I was in a bg, which I absolutely prefer. Unfortunately, the long queues and poor honor meant it was my only choice.
In regards to racials I would absolutely swap mine for the dwarf priest racials, the only reason I didn’t reroll is that my friend base is in the Horde.
P.s I am not here to argue, only state my opinion in regards to the change to Blizzard, which is the only one that I actually care about.

It’s the best change you can realistically implement regarding queues issues. Please keep it.
just adding my two cents to the discussion, not all servers are Horde favored, Earthshaker being one of those servers where the Horde is literally fighting over scraps and on every PvP open world encounter, you are at least outnumbered 2 to 1 if not 3 or 4 to 1 at times.
We are unable to compete for World Bosses as the alliance has about 2 raids more than us active in the area as soon as the spawn is confirmed. This is all whatever to me though. I don’t mind having an active open-world PvP environment as Horde players generally don’t cry or whine as much as your average Alliance player and just welcome the fight and activity around Open World PvP.
what is horrible, however, is trying to gear my character up for PvP that needs a full set, and in order to get it, I need to sit in queue 8 hours a day to get miserable honor. Last weekend was a huge relief, I managed to farm out all the equipment required on my Rogue in less than two days, which would have taken me at least 2-3 weeks. It’s a lot more enjoyable actively playing battlegrounds rather than ganking level 63-70s in the open world. Does not really help the Alliance their experience either being dive-bombed by a level 70 when trying to kill an elite quest mob or something.
Bring it back asap I would say. the masks didn’t bother me at all, we made a lot of fun screenshots at times and although the “Horde based Alliance team” seems to be less favored to win for some reason, I don’t mind losing as long as it does not take me 1 hour afterwards to get into the next game. I feel the overall toxicity in the horde /battleground chat went down as well since it does not have such a huge impact to lose anymore.
I think you should. My intention was not do undermine the solution, but to show that we all want change that gives us the most fun. Calling others selfish is not the way to do it and shows a lack of reality.

This was a much needed change for all subscribers working on a fulltime job! It’s unbearable to play PvP when the queuetimes are above 1 hr.
