Fellowship got it all right / M+ did everything wrong ... Time to learn blizz

Blizzard is or was king in taking things others game do right and put it into their own games and sometimes make it even better so if Fellowship has good stuff to offer then yeah all for it.

But it’s hard to compare WoW to a game that focusses on one specific thing.

Sorry to disappoint you but you don’t know anything yet about the game. Play Sylvie and hit 5,5k+ and you will understand how the game will fail once people progress a little bit further.
The game starts only casual friendly and creates a very well done illusion how the game could be good. But it’s not. It’s bad.
Tanking is bad. Healing is bad. DPS are all copy pasta with different animations. No uniqueness in any class. The kits are lacking which means you can’t have skillful gameplay.

While I do agree on this, it’s MUCH harder to implement it in WoW because WoW has actual specs and classes, not copy pasta like Fellowship. It’s easy to have an auto queue when every dps class does literally the same: damage
The only different is melee and range, that’s it. Nothing else is different with dps.

I mean Fellowship implemented it in a good-looking way in the UI, sure… but acting like we don’t have this in WoW with WA and pretend like Fellowship re-invented the wheel here… that’s fanboy copium…

Now this is pure bs. Sylvie healing “rotation” is basically spamming one button that has initial heal and a HoT on it because the rest is so pure garbage…. you use CDs and the second healing button (yes she has only 2 lmao) you ignore most of the time because it’s doing so little…. and you call THIS insane class balancing? I mean it’ is insane indeed but probably not the way you mean it.
Tank design is pure garbage as well. I have to agree it’s fun at the start because it’s something new, sure. But long term it’s omega boring because you have a fully scripted rotation that you do at all times. And generally EVERY class is lacking a proper kit, which makes skillful gameplay impossible. You are basically sitting there like a bot spamming the same rotas at all times….
This is everything else than good. This is horrible and I truly hope we don’t end up on this level in Midnight.

Please, stop the fanboy copium…. They are in early access, of course they gonna work all the time on it to keep the players (which already started bleeding out btw).
Everything was so flawed, it’s not surprising they try to fix the sinking ship. I mean you couldn’t even lmb/rmb on the party frames…. how stupid is this? lol… how can you copy so much from WoW and not copy the MOST basic function?….

Fellowship does (almost) nothing better than WoW while doing a lot wrong and/or the same. You just didn’t realize it because the grind in Fellowship takes longer than in WoW.

yeah i agree on this sylvie is pure garbage . i didnt play much healer so far anyway but i have seen it on streams its boring af . but on the bright side vigour is interesting

im not fanboying anything …. they are doing things right its as simple as that , the kick marker system , the always rewarding at the end of run , variety of dungeons and levels all of that is good stuff …. nothing is fanboying here and the constant update is something we never get from blizzard been playing this garbage game since decades ago , we never get constant update … never not in beta not in alpha not in ptr never …. its always that lame once every month or so half addressing few issues while the vast majority are left unchecked

if your talking about the macro marker thing its not good enough . or reliable at all … people play it in different ways obviously you never use that garbage in Premade grroups and in pugs its only good for like first kicks and thats as far as it gets you , not to mention overlaps etc …. its not good not even good enough to compare it to fellowships system

It’s bland and boring. The kick system might be good, but it looks like a mobile game to me.

The lack of utilities and actual kit due to poor class design will be clear in higher difficulties. That’s why all works with absorb shields later on. Vigour has those from the start, Sylvie gets them with the legendary.
They obviously have to increase the incoming damage in higher difficulties but they have no solution (due to bad class design) how to handle it, so they just implemented absorb shield… horrible design.

The point is that healing and Tanking is EXTREMELY bad designed in Fellowship. Tanking in WoW is on an absolutely different level than Fellowship and MUCH more fun long term.
Class design is simply bad in Fellowship, idk how anyone can argue otherwise.

Which things? You literally have copy pasta dps with only difference being range/melee and different animations? Tanking is bad. Healing is bad. Skill expression is zero. What is it that they doing right? lol… like 99% of the game is objectively bad. And it’s not fun at all, especially long term.

You say you are not fanboying but then you bring up something that we have in WoW as well, the only difference is… the visualization? Like… from all the ideas Fellowship had, this one is that you think WoW needs the most? Really?…. THIS?…. lol… :joy:
If I had to argue for Fellowship, they I would have picked something that they removed… for whatever reason… the mercenary mode. This was truly a good idea and I wish we had this in WoW but idk why they removed it in Fellowship. See? They not even close to WoW level and already doing extremely stupid mistakes.

Even tho this is nothing but “infinite” grind (which here only works so far because the game is new… it will not work later on), ok… I can see that. I’d like that too but WoW is designed for casual players. Kinda ironic, since Fellowship was supposed to be that.

Which we have too? Like all of it? You gotta name something that Fellowship has that WoW does not or something they do clearly better. So far I don’t see anything really.
We could argue that those “new abilities” on higher difficulties are more fun… is hard to tell how it’s gonna be long term. For whatever reason WoW community does not like it. That’s like affixes that we had back in the days and seems like Blizz removed due to the request of the player base. So I don’t think we can call something in the game bad because the devs once again decided to listen to the player base, no?

You have a WA for auto targeting and a WA for announcing your interrupt target. It’s 100% reliable.

Who cares about pre-mades. That function is made for pugs. In both cases.
In pre-made you simply communicate.

Where do you see me Blizzard giving credit for that? I simply said we have it in WoW. That’s a fact.
Addons are actually a good thing in WoW because you can fix mistakes that devs don’t or need too long. Like you can’t use lmb/rmb on party frames in Fellowship. How to fix this? Right… you can’t. (gotta use third party software for that etc…)

The most difficult mode has no auto queue .you will have to manually make a group just like you do for mythic plus or mythic raid .eternal mode .

tankking in wow is literally the most dog shet thing i have ever experienced … like literally and i tanked in every piece of content in this game low range keys top 40 world keys , hof raiding ,low myth raiding , hc raiding all of it …..

it is by far the most unpleasent experience ever period by a large margin , if someone would come up to me and be like what would be the most dreadful garbage experience you could possibley simulate in a video game i would mention WOW tanking in any content or any level

it is so bad its mind blowing , the level of bordem you feel in raids and the amount of responsibilities you have in an m+ is just of the chart i could not ever bear to pick up that role ever again despite knowing without playing it im doing myself a diservice since its the most important role in the game .

if ppl would pay me money literally paying $ to play tank i wouldnt do it … thats how much i hate that role

like that take is just insane to me - Tanking in wow is much more fun - holy cow we live in different realities , i think its because you never really tanked anything if you feel that way tbh or maybe you tanked short term ( cause initially you think its fun )

im not implying that fellowship did any better … yes it might actually be equally bad but again i have already mentioned that . im not arguing anything here yes tanking is bad , and possibly healing to , but dps is fine in fellowship i dont think its a copy pasta … you could make the same arguement for wow if you look at it that way

no we dont have a variety of dungeons , wow dungeons have been the same since for ever …

you always have your easy ones like SBG / Freehold / Gambit etc ….

and then you have your mid dungeons , and then you have the impossible ones : Floodgate/priory etc …. nothing is new in wow they are almost equally long and share the same amount of bosses and time required to do the key . So thats not variety

atleast fellowship devs were quick , last night they adressed a huge ui issue with buffs and hero buffs within less than 1 week … imagine the same scenario in wow without addons .

And maiming the game for 1 ‘mode’ is just the stupidest idea ever.

Sure; if things are exclusively changed in M+, I couldn’t care less.
But that’s not what he’s talking about.

that is exactly what im talking about …. in fact anything i wrote there is very very specifically tied to m+ , i couldnt give a damn about someone pressing 1 button in open world or raid or anywhere … and getting +5% dmg boost , or having Combat ress stricly for certain classes like druid and warlock cause it fits they’re class fantasy

M+ is M+ and fellowship is similar to M+ . that is why i wrote the thread , the m+ community generally dosnt give a damn about the other areas of game

you can keep your little buffs and class fantasy stuff little panda :slight_smile: we wouldnt care as long as it dosnt affect us

Everyone wants different things, I’m sure if someone came up with some suggestions that “maimed the game” but benefited delvers, you’d be all for it.

The reality today is that the bulk of the player base engages in two things, running m+ keys, and collecting mogs and mounts.

So if we’re going to make any changes (not that we should, I’m pro the addon and classes being the same as they are now, if pushed for my opinion) they should probably benefit the largest number of users.

What “we” are you talking about? I don’t see massive demands on various places such as Twitter, Reddit, the Forums, etc for the UI and complexity to change like Fellowship is.

one of the biggest topics since wow announced they will be removing addons has been ui … and its complexity and how it will affect the game

Yet I haven’t seen a single time until now that the game “Fellowship” has been brought up as an example. Like, at all.

yeah cause fellowship is brand new , and they did brought it up …. many streamers and content creators mentioned how well the ui design is and if wow is going for a no addon policy they should look them up and they were not wrong not one bit . i just happened to be the first guy to mention in here i guess

fellowship ui is very well designed , very customizable and versatile , unlike wow when you log into alpha theres 200000 different buffs and debuffs and you have 0 control over how you want them to be organized , you are only at the mercy of wow devs making good changes in which based on history its fair to say they wont … they have a very solid reputation of poor communication and bad delivery on promises

there are many things that fellowship has done right that wow could benefit from if they could sat aside they’re ego

Difference is WoW is a 21 year old game by now. Fellowship isn’t. Keep that in mind.

It’s easy to make changes to a fundament while nothing stands on it. But after the house is built (in WoWs case), changing the fundament is not easy.
