Good day! On low populated classic era servers there is a free transfer of characters to more populated servers. Unscrupulous players abuse this - they collect easily accessible resources on low populated worlds and transfer them for free to more populated ones, thereby breaking the economy there. The population of these death servers consists only of hunter-bots from the black-lotus-mafia.
We are talking about such servers as Amnennar, Dreadmist and other, and ru-speaking servers ofc.
Is it possible to make the transfer from low populated servers paid.
leveling from 0 to 60level takes around 240 hours for avarage player. If you are really going to spend that amount of time + the time to level your professions from 0 to 300 i would only respect.
At worst scenario you can farm 100g / hour in crowded era server, and if you farmed for 300 hours it would make 30k gold. Leveling alts in dead server and farming black lotus than using free transfer is meaningless.

they keep their 60 farming non stop and transfer low level toons that hold the farmed goods, they don’t transfer their 60s

The only reason this is a problem, is really the RMT making it profitable to do so. As long as that isn’t solved issues like this will continue to exist. If they ‘fix’ the black lotus prices the RMT mafia will just move to another item to exploit. Moral of the story, RMT mafia needs to be shut down
And so what u get, skyrocket black lotus prices? Same as on anniversary PvP where lotus supply is very limited and we have 300g lotuses? But on era, if we count inflation and gold prices on RMT sites, it would cost around 1-1,5k gold per lotus if the supply will also be so limited as on anniversary servers.
Avarage? More like 160.

Now the Black Lotus Mafia needs to make multiple accounts just for transfers (more money for blizzard, less profit for Black Lotus Mafia) or they have to slow down their business.
What was the thing they did in season of mastery? I can’t remember exactly but I think all high level herbs had a chance to drop a black lotus - that would solve the problem if it was common enough for people to get them, but still hold value abouut 10x that of say a mountain silversage.

Problem is not in number of lotuses, but in the mafia. Black-lotos mafia is also on low populated servers (try to go there - they will quickly explain to you that you are not welcome there).
Measures are needed to combat the mafia: paid transfer or changing the spawn of lotuses or something else.

Something needs to be done about the mafia thing as a whole, it was bad enough before with bots - I don’t really have that much knowledge, so I am sure it is worse but there was a guy from my old guild, who after raids would boost people, to raise money for consumes to raid. Some of them started throwing a ton of abuse at him (I think he was doing it far cheaper than they were) - I can’t remember the exact details but I think they mass reported him and got him banned for a couple of days.

Mafia is usually trying to increase prices, but prices for lotuses on classic era (especially in real money equialent) is very low. You can make more, or at least same amount of gold with any other gold farming method on era
If they disable transfer, lotus will become very limited resource (same as on anniversary), and with classic era inflation and gold prices it will skyrocket to 1,5k gold, maybe more (1,5k on era is real money equialent of 300g on anniversary, and with limited supply resource prices usually based on RMT prices). And you will still complain for mafia but on firemaw. But with current state of “mafia” you can buy lotuses for 80g, and with new state of it if blizz disable transfers, for 1,5k, you see the difference?
Classic Era prices are high and players have a lot of gold. Problem with lotuses and other resources should be solved by changing mechanics, and not with help 1000s slaves on lotus-farming-plantation.
But that increases supply. That will always lead to lower prices.

Farming with a level 60 hunter, getting raw gold, buying extremely cheap stuff, giving it to a level 1 character, die and transfering it for free to any server I like…
One time I bought 1000 elemental water for 10 silver each, made GFPP, transfered and sold them for like 20g each lol
