yes becouse there is no proper wpvp in wow, no siege weapon, destructable buildings, no unit collision and list goes of proper wpvp mechanics absent in the game.
but still all the thing you listed count in rated bg, and rated bg have the addiot of logistical management due of having bigger teams, and the map is not a simple kill the enemy but you have to get objectives and controll them.
Yeah, entertainment wise arena is the sustainable option for Blizz for many years (although they damaged it by moving the AWC to youtube and removed all the interactions with the stream such as checking the players’ gear, talents etc.). Almost every single popular game can gather more viewers for their tournaments etc. AWC and Blizzcon tournament is the closest WoW can get to that point because people still enjoy doing it and watching it for long intervals. Don’t tell me about world first streams which has a lifespan of a week and the horrendous MDI, filled with ‘clever use of game mechanics’.
You have to realize throughout an expansion and it’s patches, most PVE content becomes super boring and dull, until they add new stuff. You can’t deny that. Most of the ‘PVE’ guys I know have started for 8.3 and quit shortly after achieving certain things, where PVP guys kept going.
Sure the PVE community is overwhelmingly bigger but dedicated arena players only ask for a fair ground and less time to spend on PVE where you guys need to be constantly fed with new dungeons, new raids, zones, quests, corruptions, items, systems etc. I would be fine with just Nagrand Arena, Blade’s Edge, Lordaeron so I wouldn’t even ask for a new arena map.
So tell me which side is harder to satisfy?
As a guy who enjoys almost every aspect of the game either casually or hardcore, leaning more towards PVP, I find your perspective on arenas is pretty dumb.
Not to the degree of arena, you need more awareness in arena and you need to to know every match up you play against, how the comps works… how they will try to kill you and how you counter play it. RBGs isn’t as demanding in those areas, its there… but not to the same degree.
WoW never has had those things you mention so why are you saying its arenas fault they don’t exist? that makes no sense.
If you look back in time TBC and Wrath there the pinnacle of WoW’s player numbers, so clearly you are wrong.
becouse you have to deal with other factors as logistical preparation of the team while for making arenas you just check who how your friend is online, plus you have to play the map.
yes becouse it proves that majority of the pvp players are just carebears with litle interest in real pvp.
thank to the prensence of prominent figures of the franchies (Illidan/lich king) and a better pve sistem surelly not for the abortion that are arenas.
Not if we got a proper RvR sistem instead of pleasing carebears.
Everyone that prefers instanced pvp in an mmorpg is carebear, there are plenty of istanced/lobbied pvp games instead of ruining mmorpgs.
And still wotlk is more remembered for the pve compared to pvp, especially the players, everyone remembers ensidia for being the first sponsored guild in the game, instead no one remembers a single pvp only guild of that era.
That has to be one of the worst arguments I’ve ever heard and can only come from a place of ignorance.
To stay on topic though, I think it’s a very real possibility that the game would have been better off if arenas had never been introduced, but we’ll never know.
They already done that, Wintergrasp out in the world, Isle of conquest when it came to bg’s.
First one never worked since most servers were unbalanced, Nazjatar today is mostly won through lfg, so that’s probably how Wintergrasp would be today if it was a wpvp event.
Isle of Conquest… well, vehicles have in general never been popular in WoW.
Sounds you like you are playing the wrong game, do you really expect Blizzard to cater one persons opinion?
But arenas take more skill to get highly ranked in, so they SHOULD have high rewards for that. World PvP is meaningless, it never has met anything… you are basically crying that the game is built wrong based off your only selfish opinion, you are the carebear here, thinking the world should cater to you, you are not the only person that plays WoW.
apparently im not just one person otherwise games like Camelot Unchained, Crowfall, Ashes of Creations would not have received millions with crowfuding.
so im the carebear becouse i want more open world feature, even the most hardcore ones like player looting??
nah the carebears are people sititng in town with their ista queue with no risk.
You want open world at the expense of arenas, even though you’ve barely played them to actually get into it, despite thousands on people liking and enjoying that content, and you are on the forum crying because its not how you want, while claiming everyone that doesn’t share your point of view is a “carebear”. Its like talking to a religious person about why god might not be real.
No risk? WoW isn’t that type of MMORPG, which part of that don’t you understand?
Great, perfect… go play those games instead of crying here.
