"Find Jed Runewatcher" at UBRS or "nO hEalZ" is bad game design. Fix it so they stop crying

I think we have all seen the tears shed in these forums in the past week b/c they “have to check for Jed and reset” thus “spending all my lockouts”.

This was really annoying back when I had to farm UBRS. Healers would blackmail and say “Find Jed or no heals”.

Now, since everyone and their little sister are supposedly spending their 30 lockouts “looking for Jed” every day fix it by making Jed spawn 100% of the time and making that damn trinket a 1% drop rate or similar.

Clearly the playerbase has evolved and plays the game in a different way than we did back in 2005, so the concept of “Rare Mobs” has been made obsolete by spamming resets until they find them.

Note:

#nochanges was and is always about blizzard NOT porting over so-called “improvements” done to Refail to Classic. E.g.:

  1. NO KUNG FU PANDAS.
  2. NO POKEMON.
  3. NO FOXES.
  4. NO LFR
  5. NO LFG
  6. NO CLASS HOMOGENIZATION
  7. NO PONIES
  8. NO SHARDING
  9. NO TRIVIALIZATION OF RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.
  10. NO GOD MODE TOONS.

#nochanges is NOT about NOT fixing issues wherein players abuse game mechanics and the economy.

Honestly I never understood why he isn’t an “always there” rare like the quartermaster in LBRS. Just park him at the left end of the hall so that groups have to veer off for 5 pulls or so to get him and make him always be there. I doubt anyone would protest.

It’s because there’s no reason for a healer to do UBRS without Jed.

I guess you’ll soon make a thread saying how “annoying” it is to go and do Nefarian too because you know, you have all the items from the boss already and the guild is “blackmailing” you to do it anyway.

As a healer i can confirm this.
In almost every other instance you have multiple items for healers.
But in UBRS, you only need Jed for Briarwood Reed.

literally just find jed, it’s not hard. Healers and most casters don’t care about ubrs without it.

Send a jew guys to split out of the group, walk in, so stealthies etc, walk up to the locked door and /target jed if he’s there just swap to his group and bam you’re ready to go. Takes a minute or two at most.

Same reason why I always got the first orb or two when tanking Strat Live for casters. No loot in there for a tank.

I do see the problem, namely that after the instance lock you may need to burn through 2 - 4 of your instances to find Jed, whereas if I get promised the first orb in strat live, one may not drop. In one case, it’s x% drop chance, vs. x% drop chance + x% spawn chance.
