Has been so for 3 days already. Blizzard mus already know about this but are deciding not to add layers or do anything about it…
The stupid thing is that they briefly added layers and we had 8 layers going a few days ago but since then they haven’t gone over 3 layers at any point
My guess is that layers got screwed again when they had to roll back the raid unlocking early plus world boss issues. That we have to go this many days without a hotfix tho is insane.
But why does Firemaw lag and Gehennas not (8 or 9 layers). Its just this one server.
There is only 3 layers active on Firemaw at the moment. I’ve tried making a ticket about this twice, but it just gets auto set to resolved after 2 AI responses telling me to update my drivers. So insanely infuriating that you cannot get a response to the problem.
What the hell is going on with the servers? The latency in World of Warcraft is absolutely outrageous right now. We’re paying a monthly subscription for a AAA game that can’t even maintain basic playability. Constant lag, rubberbanding, unresponsive abilities — the game is borderline unplayable.
Let me be blunt: private servers — yes, those unofficial, zero-budget servers — offer a more stable and responsive experience than this. How is that even possible? How can Blizzard, with all its resources, infrastructure, and years of experience, be delivering worse performance than some hobbyist-run server?
This is straight-up embarrassing.
We’re not getting what we’re paying for, period. I’m not paying a subscription to fight the servers. I’m paying to play the damn game — and right now, that’s not even possible. And before someone blames my connection: no, it’s not me. Everything else works flawlessly. This is 100% on Blizzard’s end.
Where is the transparency? Where is the fix? Where is the compensation?
Don’t insult us with silence or copy-paste “we’re looking into it” replies. Players are fed up. If you can’t guarantee stable servers, why are we still being charged full price? Fix the servers, acknowledge the problem, or stop pretending this is a premium experience — because right now, it’s a joke.
We deserve answers. We deserve stability. And honestly, we deserve better than this.
Private servers that have 2x the pop of Firemaw, do not lag, running on an older engine, and have customer support that answers questions and bans bots within 2 minutes of making a report.
And this has been the case for a very long time. Blizzard don’t care
Yeah, Its a damn insult towards us, paying all these subscriptions etc, and getting nothing back.
I mean, sometimnes you can’t even loot mobs, cast spells and so on.
You never learn Blizzard.
They probably fired all the devs so MOP Classic is running without support. Lag is unbearable in most zones at busy times.
Everyone who wants to que arena will and need to transfer to firemaw and this is one ofthe Problems.
How did you not yet include coss realm lfg for arena players?
Just unsubscribed because of this issue. There seems to be no interest in making the game playable so why would i pay to play?
Got to be honest I’m close to unsubbing. I’ve had to stop doing my dailies because it’s taking 2.5 hours to do 3 zones. 6-8 seconds per interaction.
I’m going to fall behind on gear progress now, but just cannot deal with the level of frustration it’s causing after a work day

Can confirm, firemaw is to this date - no matter the time of the day - basically unplayable outside instanced content. It is utterly frustrating to face world lag around a 5,000ms latency at a constant.
It’s strange that gehennas is not lagging when it has 30% more population then firemaw (at least, according to pre-MoP ironforge data). So the problem is probably that fewer server resources allocated for firemaw then for gehennas.
$15 a month for this experience that’s been going on for over a week and bl*zzard hasn’t even acknowledged the problem.
I am never giving this company money again.
I think with the releease of MoP the population has shifted towards Firemaw due to PVP and probably the server is more full. We will see in Ironforge next week
Hey there, wanted to give some acknowledgement to this issue. Firemaw’s layer manager has gone haywire and consistently thinks it needs less layers than it really does, this is unfortunately the first time we’ve seen this occur, and have discovered we don’t have sufficient logging to figure out what’s going on.
So, in the short term, we have manually forced more layers for Firemaw and added additional logging if the issue ever reoccurs, but we expect this issue to resolve with maintenance today. If it does not we will continue to play manual layer master now that we know which system is misbehaving while we dig in further.
Apologies for the delay on communicating about this issue, and rest assured there’s nothing inherently wrong with Firemaw or its population. Once this layer issue is resolved we should also be able to raise the realm cap to eliminate queuing on Firemaw also.
Thanks finally for a response to this issue, its been a week of forum posts, tickets and angry chat from everyone on the server. Why may I ask didnt you just do a server shut down and restart if you expect the maintenance to sort it, why wait.
However thanks for the response and acknowledgment, but with that many paying customers affected it really should have been a much faster and public response and attempt to do something.
