Leveling is not fun, you can barely do any quests because of low mob population and high player population. You can group but all this really achieves is all of you suffering together rather than individually. The layering idea has failed, you need to fix this as right now it’s not at all enjoyable.
It needs some time .
I really prefer this over 5-10 servers and within 2 months majority become dead-pop-server.
I find myself lvling in not so crowned areas .
Also a big plus is that since 1 server the report for the bots works better 2 days and all the bots in the current area i’m farming disappeared .
So for any player is an actual pretty good thing.
I mean they could easily release Anniversary with few servers with its own layers with name sharing a such and when pops drop just merge them, people are basically deprived of enojying the best part of Classic which is leveling…it chaotic and it feels like playing overcrowded Nostalrious minus good devs.
blizzard needs to ban bots then we will have a good populated realm.
I’ve been leveling just fine, can’t say I really agree with this. I kinda like the layer idea and the world feels alive, so can’t complain
Because that’s a freaking great experience right? Suffering weeks having problems with accessing group content before Blizzard throws you into another server with its own pre existing cliques economy etc. Sorry had my fill of that during Wrath.
Ultimately a lot of issues in crowded zones does stem from single player mentality. Seen way too many people insisting on doing kill quests alone refusing to party with others, which would lessen the pressure on mobs (as up to 5 people would benefit from single mob’s death). Drop quests aren’t much easier with groups but you’re still ultimately killing the mobs faster (sadly coding for quest items to drop for everyone was not done in vanilla). Even after spending 2 days in STV I don’t really consider things to be “unplayable”. It’s slower yes. I could probably get a better mileage running SM on my level range, though I hold the aversion for just dungeon grinding but it’s doable.
I started this character yesterday. Never faced mob problem. Quite contrary. Which server you play and which zones you talk about?
layering actually works very well, what you complain about is lack of layers, if there were more the density of players would be more manageable.
So basically you are saying from two bads ,you are choosing for you more convinient bad.
I did said merging servers after pop drops hence " name sharing a such" and mind you it was not solution just a proposition and you can offer yours, but on the end of the day it is obvious that Blizzard is going low investment high profit route of layering mega server which at the moment looks like cesspool and it looks like it is not going aways soon, not to mention that there is not enough layers and that population per server is too high.
You are mentioning social aspects and grouping and i don’t know ,but large number of quests are collecting “bear asses” type with no shareable loots, i don’t know anyone who wants to group for these quests.
Did you try to group up for Yeti fur quest in hillsbrad or maybe collecting crystals in Arath Highland cave for Myzrael? What about grinding materials for professions via killing mobs when every damn grinding zone is contested as hell?
Layering is good if delivered properly, this is not the way…
At low levels it’s not too bad, but from 30+ it’s a nightmare.
I’ll give you an example, Guile of the Raptor a lvl37 quest in Arathi Highlands requires you to kill Highland Fleshstalkers for Raptor Hearts. It is on average taking 2min 30secs to get a single tag on one of these mobs, they have a 1 in 7 chance of dropping a heart and you need 12 hearts to complete the quest. That means to complete this quest you would need to commit around 3.5hrs of your time. To put that in an even worse context, you can complete Onyxia, BWL and MC in around the same length of time.
That is hideously poor game design and only encourages people to flock to boosting services.
It is just not fun to play the game in that state, they need to fix it and they need to fix it quickly!
I truly wanna play the game, but really, I just can’t bring myself to.
Every zone post-30 is a complete hassle to quest in.
All I see no matter where I go are barren landscapes devoid of mobs.
This is ridiculous and I can’t figure out why the respawn rates haven’t been increased yet.
So again today, I logged in, walked around a bit in Arathi Highlands, I think I’ve been able to tag 2 or maybe 3 mobs for my quest in 15 minutes, then I pressed ALT + F4.
Dunno if I’ll even make it to 60 at some point.
Which realm? Can you check /who the zone by levels ?
It should not be as bad in most zones o_O
Whether PvP one or PvE one, doesn’t matter. They are completely full and it’s not a fun experience. I think Hardcore isn’t as full but… well that’s obvious why.
Can comfirm this on Eu Thunderstrike.
Nearly unplayable. No mobs for quests.
Bear rear quests are obviously an issue but keep in mind that you’re killing mobs st increased pace when in group and unlike going solo you actually can tackle larger groups without being a mage. It will ultimately take longer but as long as you cooperate it’ll still be faster than competing for the mobs.
Out of the two evils i chose the one with least long term negative effects. Blizzard doesn’t merge servers dynamically. They do it rather slowly and before they do the would be merged server would become unplayable on its own. Not that I expect someone with Golemagg tab to understand it.
Honestly paired for War Banners in Wetlands, paired up for Jungle Medicine in STV. We killed monsters faster than a single person (except for mages) would do and gotten the items eventually. Really not that scary.
The problem with a large load is solved very simply. There is a separate Fresh server with 200 people online for two factions, there are no queues, etc., one might say a safe haven… This is a server in Cyrillic! Not knowing the language cannot be an excuse. Just as not knowing English became an excuse,
for thousands of players who left because of the reservation.
I suggest that everyone who is dissatisfied switch to a Cyrillic server…a separate server with a small online presence, as they want!
I agree. Some quests are barely possible to complete. You know, I love levelling. And many quests are just not fun due to the overwhelming number of people on the anniversary PvE realm (Europe). We need at least one more realm or better (if it’s possible) double or triple the quantity of layers and reduce the max players on a layer by 2-3 times. I would really love to see changes.
“Good devs” nice way of saying you never played nost. Nost was basically stock mangos
