Doing bountiful delve tier 10 gives you ilvl 603-610 item, let’s say average ilvl 606.
But the game tells you that tier 10 is supposed to be done on ilvl 623+.
So, based on in-game tooltips, Blizzard tells you to either team up, or go mythic+/raiding to get 620+ and then do tier 10 or tier 11.
Is it like a Freudian slip by Blizzard or what?
no, it’s not.
Oh, so they mean it.
The 603 ilvl can be upgraded to 618, and the 610 ilvl can be upgraded to 626. Blizzard is only suggesting ilvl for the content (since we were doing tier 8 delves with 580ilvl).
How do you upgrade it to suggested 623 without running mythic or raids
Y, but tier 8 is not tier 11
You get gilded crests by bounties (the maps in delves)
Yes, and just like you did tier 8 with lower ilvl, people do tier 11 with lower ilvl. Although no one bothers cause it is an unbalanced challenge to do if you have nothing else.
But they don’t have one of the three currency types you need for upgrades right
Sorry misspelled gilded CRESTS.
And no, you only need 2 resources to upgrade past 618. Valorstones and gilded crests. You can get both in delves.
So the Runed and Gilded crests are supposed to be farmed in delves as well? Then the in-game tooltip in game on crests is incorrect.
If they are actually farmable, this invalidates the logic of this post.
I will check, and if this is accurate, delete the topic
Runed crests drop from all bountiful delves. Gilded crests drop from the bounties (map fragments) that drop the 610 ilvl gear.
Theoretically you can be 626 from delves. It is time consuming and rng, so its not really worth it. Also keep in mind that weekly vault from delves gives 616, which greatly reduces the need for crest upgrades.
Yeah, but the vault is like 15 weeks right, so i am not taking it into consideration
I just meant the bountiful coffers
P.S.i mean the season is like ~20 weeks right so
Yes, just like myth track is for m+, so you should take into consideration, otherwise you will lose valuable crests.
Yes, and the game is designed so you get the BiS gear from the game mode you are doing over the duration of the season if you are just doing that game mode.
- Raid gives the most items at highest tracks but gives a lot less items than other game modes. This is the reason people raid groups expect most raiders to spam m+ at the start of the season to gear up fast.
- M+ gives the only way to endlessly farm gear at the 2nd highest level. To balance that they only give you a chance to get the highest track of gear once a week from the vault.
- Delves gives the highest upgrades for the less time invested. This is the reason that everyone gears alts through delves until they are 605+ and enter low m+.
Each game mode has its strength and weaknesses so that someone is not “forced” to do just one game mode to progress, but also does offer a way to “progress” the game just from that game mode without forcing people to other modes.
True, but i mean, because dressing with a vault takes a season, then we have to take what actually drops as the ilvl. So that’s why i said 606 as opposed to 616 right.
Yeah but form your original post you asked how you could get 623 ilvl to do +11 delves. If you are playing only delves then the way you get that is by farming delves each week, not spend crests on items, and AFTER you get the items from the vault, you spend your crests there.
Then you only need 1 upgrade with runed crests, and 2 upgrades with gilded crests. That way at the end of the season you will likely be even more than 623 ilvl. That is the “progress” path that blizzard designed for delves if you only want to play those.
Ok, but if a solo player only gets 623 at the end of the season, than following the tooltip they basically dont have time to play tier 10-11 right
It also depends on your class. Some have it easier, others have it harder. Also anything past 8 is regarded a challenge for the sake of challenge, the gear rewards stop at 8.
No because by the end of the season they can be 626. So at the later weeks of the season they will be 623.
Mind you that is a cursed way to play the game, but you do you. If your “target” is gonna be doing the +11 delves you will be able to be done earlier (depending on class), and if your target is gonna be be bis from delves then it might be later.
Point is that delves are a flawed system at the moment, and they probably took some lessons to apply for when they do horrific visions 2.0 in 11.1.5.
Well, we are discussing a solo player, so than someone who is supposed to basically do delves and not mythic or raid, right.
So if the assumption is, that you are supposed to be doing tier 10+ at 623+, than you only have a small timeframe at the end of the season to do this, so.
I think for this to make sense, you need tier 9 to be drop 623 or the amount of crests to improve the gear to 623 in a realistic timeframe (i need to check on that crest drop rate, since so far my understanding was people farmed crests in mythic+ this season).
I dont understand, why a hypothetical solo player would farm 623 to only be able to play tier 10-11 for the last week of season right
There is no reason. Delves are not a mode of progression and they are not balanced around that. WoW is not a game that is designed around solo content.
You can do +11 delves with 610-620 ilvl, it depends on rng and class. The option is there just to give a solo player a “reason” to go online and feel that there is “some” progression to do on his character to get ilvl.
so we came to an agreement, that you can eventually at the end of the season can farm 623, but basically it’s pointless, so the delves need to be fixed, if one wants it to be a viable solo option ?
