I agree with most of that. Very poor planning of a company. Your initial post however was just full of mocking of Horde players and wishing them bad things gameplay vise in the future and objectively thinking person doesnt condemn the “winning” faction as he understands there’s barely if any difference between his and their faction players. The only difference is the flag that they carry and the amount of people behind them. If tables were turned Alliance would act exactly the same and in smaller scale scenarios they sure have proven it to me.
It should be Blizz’s job to prevent such enormous imbalance since there’s absolutely no way that players can do it themselves. I’d like to play Alliance (even though I dont like how their races look) if it would solve the imbalance, but there’s no chance I’ll throw all my hard work to trash especially when there’s nothing organized to make my choice affect anything but ruin my gameplay experience even more and contribute to nothing.

The damage is done. I hope soon Blizzard will at least achknowledge that there is a problem and is looking into it.

It’s not a patch change, it’s what they did during realms maintenance. Likely due to large disparity between realms back then.
They didnt though. Absolutly 0 mention of it, even from archives of that era
The gates do no open on other servers 7 days after the first server opend the gates.
The diff alone between the first US server opening and the 5th wass 17 days.
For EU realms the Diff between the first and the 5th wass 11 days.
That’s Blizzlike btw. In 2005, after 2 months, War Effort completed itself by X% (can’t remember X for sure) a day.
