This is a wonderful example of the tragedy of the commons.
World of Warcraft is a game. It is not real life. What is real is the time and patience of players. If you farm and drain away the time and patience of players, that resource will be fully spent, like drilling all the oil or mining all the coal.
The WoW Classic experience is video game factory farming/intensive industry. Your straw drained their real life patience milkshake, and now they’ve decided to win by not playing against you. Isn’t Horde smart enough to know that the only way to win the game is to not play it?
It’s WoW. Intoxicating narcotics are legal in many countries now. Why keybind when I can click?

@Gaze: Note the time period Nakius cited. I found that some areas have no data available and for Flamelash, something started happening approximately November 17th, whatever it was, it got much worse around 24th and broke entirely between December 2nd and 5th.
EDIT: Wrong word swapped out, cited, not sighted.
It is not players’ fault for playing the game using in-game activities and allowable actions. You are on a PvP server because you want to experience World PvP, not a staged match. For sure you will gank whoever comes your way, why not, this is the whole concept of World PvP.
Next thing you will propose is for Horde to allow Alliance to win a few rounds otherwise Alliance will pack up and leave? Maybe you should not be allowed to win too many duels?
As they say, it’s very lonely at the top
I almost miss them, but I feel like making a thread of mass tagging, along with a “You thought you did but you didn’t” one-liner would be kinda late now^^
Though I assure you that, when a similar occasion presents again, I definitely will tag every false prophet on this forum to show how wrong they were^^ (coughTBCcough)
You mean a mene like this?

You must be a real piece of doodoo IRL. Dang!
those statistics are from September, which is within that time period. (at least i assume September because the article was posted in September).
If it meant I wouldn’t have to play on a server with a misogynist like yourself who implies girls are weaker and/or more cowardly than men then I’d happily move.

This is totally Blizzards fault. How hard is it to limit a server to have 300 horde and 300 alliance?
Why make the server have what seems to be unlimited players?
Fix the servers so that there can only be a fixed amount of players per server and maybe then this problem will be fixed

i’m just here for making fun of horde players playing on a server without alliance on it, it’s really good to see, trust me.
Anyway, more seriously, Blizzard don’t say anything about the situation, they don’t care, what can we do about the situation ? I’m sad for alliance stuck on this realm but there are no solutions for the moment
It is their fault for abusing them.
Did they really believe Alliance players would pay for a game they are unable to play properly ?
They reap what they sow. And it happens too rarely for me not to be utterly enjoying it.
Karma can be a b.tch

i know what you are doing.
but why?
why arent you sad for all the people involved in this issue?
And all the other servers that will eventually go the same way?
its crazy that in 2019 you are still adhering to any kind of faction hatred, like we arent all humans on the other side of the screen.

simply because this is the horde entire fault, why it’s allways the alliance leaving ?
It’s because of horde.
You say that we are all humans, you are right, but ppl keeping ganking and camping FP for HK, i don’t think they consider alliance players like human, they don’t care and they only wants HK
Don’t be surprised when some alliances players are happy when this kind of disaster happens

@Gaze: Those statistics (as far as I can determine) are up to roughly September 14th, which is not quite the same thing. In addition there are realms, where the distribution is obviously wrong due to insufficient data (see the article’s info on Wyrmthalak for a prime example). Flamelash ratio of detected characters is probably fairly realistic, but that specific graph tells us nothing about the usage balance, which Nakius refers to and at which I tried to look at. For that on Flamelash specifically, we only start to see somewhat properly comparable data from around October 27th and onwards, using the source from the article.
Because there is a fairly large gap between September 14th, end of September and October 27th, the situation has developed over all that time and what Nakius said could have been fairly close to the truth at times, especially if he did not play during the heaviest prime time hours every day.
So things are not quite as clearcut as you think. Due to lack of more data, it is possible, even likely that all three of us got some details completely wrong and the actual development was more of a hybrid between the three lines of thought, where you and Nakius represent two “ends” and I fall somewhere (, but most likely not exactly halfway) in between.
It is not hordes fault. It is totally Blizzards fault for not putting a limit to how many horde and alliance there can be on a server. If a server has the capacity to have 400 horde and 400 alliance then that server can’t have more than 800 players on that server. It feels like its at least 900 horde and 400 alliance on Golemagg server and you can’t get to a dungeon without dying more than 4 times (If you are lucky)
Servers should also have some max cap of players, now Earthshaker turned into a non blizzlike megaserver.
