Flying Update in Shadowlands

I mean, i got a mount out of one?

There isn’t.
Glad you agree with the new decision to remove it.

No. Nothing like that at all.
People without meaningful points on these forums love to resort to hyperbole.

I did earn it. 5 years ago when it was fun.

all of this kinda doesnt answer the pathfinder question and why it has to be there and they not just enable flying after 1 year. why make us jump through hoops? its obviously not very entertaining and currently barely anyone enjoys it. if it was enjoyable and people liked it they wouldnt, do, well, this.

there are so many things obsolete and age old yet blizzard doesnt hand them out for free either. so i see old pathfinders as cherry picking now.

yes we were able to make use of pathfinder flying for years, just like transmog farming and eventually mogging. yet there is apparently a difference? i dont see one tbh.

i never said i wanted to remove it. but cool you re just assuming things.

oh the irony.

well, good for you.

Do you know what irony means?
Could you explain where the irony is?

yes i do but do you know what a hyperbole is? nothing was exaggerated what i said.

edit: the irony is that you accuse me of exaggerating things when you are just doing that.

Even if I didn’t know what the word meant, that still wouldn’t become ironic.

It’s exaggerated rhetoric.
I quoted you, quoting another person saying an exaggerated statement that Mythic raid mog will be available from vendors.
It’s unrealistic. It isn’t going to happen.

I haven’t exaggerated a single thing? Saying you’re using hyperbole to rationalize your point of view isn’t an exaggeration.

i was just comparing pathfinder to old raid mogs because someone mentioned before that it should become available for everyone without doing pathfinder just because “its old”. there are plenty of old things in the game yet blizzard does not offer them for free. nothing exaggerating about it at all whatsoever.

so who are you again to tell us what is realistic, is going to happen and what not?

edit: do you have anything substantial to say or are you just trying to waste my time and argue for absolutely nothing? because if its that just tell me then im out.

Finally, I’ll be able to fly in Draenor. It is a change I welcome, as I could never be bothered doing that achievement. As of the ‘nooooo it devalues my hard work DDDDDDDD:’ argument… I’ve done Legion flying quite early into the Broken Shore patch and I don’t see it as too big of a deal to give it out to anyone who reaches level 30. Your advantage for doing it early was having the flying while it was current content, which sped up the worldquesting and moving around the map in general.

im ok with this too ;p. now bring back old zg mounts and scarab lord or remove them for those who earned them after vanilla

Not really, it’s has been said many times, this game needs new players, would you rather your boomer mentality ruin the accessibility of the game for new players?

Dunno why people have to be so selfish really… makes no difference to me I have all the pathfinders except Draenor and if they didn’t do this I just would just level in legion or BFA and ignore Draenor for the rest of forever… if I could be bothered I’d go get pathfinder for Draenor but really don’t see much point…

All my characters are 110+ except alts I’m not planning on levelling till shadowlands is out… and like I say if I have to ground mount throughout Draenor I’ll just never go there, and tbh with the new levelling changes it would be nice to see the content I’ve ignored since it was released (except the dungeons).

Oh, thank you for this lovely change.

pathfinder is not holding new players back.

its the game as a whole which doesnt appeal to many anymore. they d need to change a whole lot more than to abolish old pathfinders.

So what you’re saying is that adding a change that’ll make the game more appealing to the new players is a bad decision because there’s so much more that needs to be done in order to attract them to WoW again? We got to start somewhere.

Thanks alot for removing the achievement people have put their heart out to earn. This just means i should not bother getting bfa flying then because that will be avaible for free next expansion aswell? fair´s fair?

Pretty sure it says right there the achievement will remain for those who do it the old fashioned way.

About time this change hit. With people choosing where they level WOD and Legion would have taken huge hits as picks for people without them, and realistically with rep and exp buffs there for alting nobody was going to grind for months in old content to make a levelling experience that takes 9 hours quicker when they could just go somewhere where they can fly.

Pathfinder is kinda irrelevant for new players

A new player will start go through the BFA zones, and its pathfinder isn’t among those removed at least in this post.

So a new player won’t get to use a shiny flying mount on his first character. He’ll maybe enjoy this change if he start farming wod tmog - which isn’t a new player focus - or level an alt through draenor or legion, which may never happen.

The "but think about the new players ! " arguments doesn’t work here imo. It’s purely aimed at returning players who didn’t play back in wod or legion, which still represent a lot of players tho.

I’m included in this. I took a long break between Cata’s end returned at legions end.

No way am I spending months in old content to fly in content I get through in about 4-8 hours. Not worth it.

Never demanded PF for these zones, I coped and I have almost a dozen 120s. But the change is nice. Once content is old news it really doesn’t make sense to demand players spend months there grinding to fly in it. Having a decent levelling speed of about 15 hours for both expos (modest as I’ve done both in about 10 hours) , assuming it takes 2 months to get both pathfinders I’d need to level over 60 characters to break even with the time saved. Absolutely not worth it and thus redundant.

I must confess to having mixed feelings about this.

On the one hand I can see why people might think that making flying in Draenor and Legion available without having to do the Pathfinder achievements is overdue.

I have got Draenor PF and was super happy when I finally got it a couple of years ago. It really did feel like an achievement since it took me about eighteen months (I was only playing every now and again due to rl commitments) and four or five different characters. I’ve been happily flying about that region (which is still my favourite) ever since. Having said that,I don’t really have a problem with this one to be honest because WoD is quite old now.

When it comes to Broken Isles PF Part Two, that’s when the really mixed feelings come in. I totally get that some of you feel it’s dated now and flying shouldn’t be hidden behind the achievement. But for some of us, Legion is still relatively recent content. I’m just one rep (Armies) away from getting PF2 and, with the current buff, I’m hoping to get it by the end of the week (we’ll see!). I do realise that this is just my own point of view but to me it feels a bit of a slap in the face that I’m just away to finally get this and then suddenly, in the next expansion it’s no longer necessary to do it.

Some new players enjoy a challenge. Obviously I can’t, and wouldn’t, attempt to speak for them. But, I can’t help but feel they should have the opportunity to earn the achievements if they want to.

Blizz have said the Draenor PF will remain if people want to earn the mount - why not put a mount in Broken Isles PF2 as well for the same reason then?

This, at least, would still offer players a choice of doing the achievement or not.

I think having the ability to fly then getting to level 90 losing that ability to fly till you hit 120 then doing pathfinder to fly at 120, but every time you go to broken isles or WoD your stuck on the floor does hold players back, or we expecting every new wow player to pay for a 120 boost?
