How is the scripted pathing of rep grind, torghast and renown farm any better?

I don’t have to do Torghast anymore and renown levels are basically free. The 1000 anima quest autocompletes while I’m in Sanctum of Domination and the Korthia quest gets done in the background while I do the dailies and kill elites there.
So I really don’t need to set aside any time for any form of “AP grind”
The Torghast grind is generally fine because you can be done with it. And I am.

i mean i’m pretty much done. i’ve got tier 6 finished, i’ve made my legendary, 2 renown per week is super easy. do some korthia stuff to farm up some resources to buy more sockets but no big rush.
Miss the neck tbh
Although im glad they didnt have it this expansion, with these world quests it would kill the game at a world record speed

I never grinded ap so i didnt have anything against it. I dont really grind anything in SL either.

The fact u are doing korthia dailies and elites and u think its better than “pasive” ap farm is beyond me.

What are you on about? I go to Korthia with warmode on and prance around. Of course it’s better than an infinite AP grind. D

U could farm ap during anything u did ( iirc) u have to go to specific zone now, do specific dailies and random elites and chests, which as a bonus has a random rep token drop, idk how is this any good.

the time spent in doing all that is waaayyyyyyyy more than AP grind and arguably less fun as well
they are both equally bad and nobody asked for this, devs just dont listen to feedback

is it? if you wanna minmax, i don’t really think so. if you’re not that bothered you’re totally fine to run around with a 235 legendary, no sockets and slightly lower conduits, it really doesn’t matter that much. or only do the 262 legendary and skip the korthia stuff or whatever you like.

In BFA you mainly farmed Island Expeditions. The grind was near infinite, which is the main problem.
Right now, I go to Korthia, pick up the quest, do the 2 Maw elite weeklies, do the Korthia dailies once and get some treasure, kill some rares and the weekly Korthia quest is done. It’s really fast and involves content I don’t mind doing.
I know there’s people who hate Korthia because they’ve already burned themselves out on it, wanting to do all elites and get all treasures every day, trying to get Maellie or whatever - to me that’s stupid. Doing some dailies to get some korthite crystals or whatever is perfectly fine.
Did anyone (even one single individual) who disliked AP grind ask for any of that?
The most annoying part was getting to rank 6 but at least i’m finally at that point as well besides making another legendary or two but i don’t mind Torghast too much and got two friends i tend to run it with.
That being said then i’m not a huge fan of either system but the endless grinds just feel worse to me.
so what’s the problem? don’t do it. or do less to where you’re comfortable with it. maybe go for the easy stuff in korthia and then leave. maybe skip torghast if you’ve got your legendary, 1000 cinders for a socket is super expensive so just don’t bother.

if i had no sockets i’d lose 1.2% dps. if i had no sockets and a 235 legendary i’d lose 2.1% dps. and that’s assuming none of those procced a socket of course. conduits barely matter as well, the couple you pick up from the raid is plenty.
and if you do wanna get all the stuff, you can do so comfortably by doing whatever you feel like.
like there’s problems with stuff like making extra legendaries for other specs and stuff which is needlessly annoying, but is that any worse than trying to farm up a random legendary in legion? leveling up your offspec in legion, screwing up your main spec? it’s all kind of whatever to me.
Its far from fast for me, but since its content you like it doesnt matter what i say anymore, because u know… Different people different taste.
It is, but doing but doing “just some” will cause you to fall behind, which means end for some people. U couldnt realy be behind in AP, because u could always farm more if u wanted to.
Korthia’s rewards really don’t matter. I am working towards getting some sockets, but that’s really all it has to offer. It’s really hard to fall behind, considering that if you do, clearing the raid once will catch you up.
All the weeklies are very quick to do. Like I said - the 1000 anima one autocompletes while I am in the raid. The Korthia one takes maybe an hour to do if I don’t feel lazy.
yeah, don’t get me wrong i’m not here cheering for torghast and korthia. korthia is a really boring zone and i feel they could’ve done a much better job with it. but no need to drive yourself crazy doing things you hate so you can have a minor power increase a little faster or something.
