Soo today when I loged on. I logged on to force pvp (Which I have NOT signed up for!) In Stormwind. There also seem to be heavy phasing going on and corpses all over the place.
Kinda hard to avoid Stormwind since its the hub for Teleporters. And blizzard had stated that the Ghoul invasion only would effect people with Warmode on.
No clue. I am actually trying to find the offical post about it. But no luck and I also only have it from other players that say they have read it “somewere” So don’t know if it just wishful thinking o.O
Well, I just logged into my Mage and I am automatically flagged for PvP, so this explains why we can be attacked by the zombies. I am currently up in the air waiting for the 5 minute timer to wear off to see of the PvP flag removes itself and stays off, in which case you just need to find somewhere to hide for 5 mins… will let you know.
It don’t remove it self unless you leave stormwind.
It just counts down and once the five minutes are gone you’re the counter down disappear but you remain Pvp flagged.
Also Stormwind seems heavily sharded on Argent dawn.
I just found this out as well. It is highly annoying. I pay monthly to play on a server I see fit, which is exclusively pve in my case. I detest pvp. This forced pvp i my factions capital city is NOT what I signed up for. Blizzard, combined with several breaking bugs in the pre-patch launch, which left some characters unable to do content they could normally access, you have greatly diminished my player experience several times within the timespan of one month. I am not used to that. Very dissappointed.
I guess all we can do is to wait and hope a Blue pops into either confirm or deny if this is a bug on intended. Since number of people seems quite annoyed over this already.
Rolled a new Char on Raggy, and every time I take a flight path to Org or Hearth back there I get flagged for PVP, And when the timer runs down I’m still flagged… Have sent a bug report in doubt this will be fixed this side of the xpac launch though.
I’m seeing the same threads on the US forum so it’s not a bug for EU specifically, the dev’s will be sleeping right now so I’m not sure if we will see much change.
You could perhaps fly to IF, then use the portal to SW to use the other portals… bit long winded I know… or go to Goldshire and see if there is a friendly mage hanging around you can ask for a portal.
Just took the flight burdies to Redridge as soon as I passed over Nutshire I got auto flagged again. Haha
Ugh. Just got forced into Pvp by Ghouls in Redridge because an infected player killed the guards and turned them… Really AM starting to look like a bug.
Player ghouls can’t attack none pvp players BUT Npc Ghouls can and it will force you into pvp and then the player ghoul can infect you.
I have encountered something strange this morning. I am being continually put into PVP mode whenever I change zones using a portal or hearthstone. I revert back once my 5 minutes is up, but on changing zones go back into PVP, even in Ogrimmar or Stormwind.
This happens on both my horde and alliance characters. I notice that there are a lot of players around me who are also in PVP mode.
So this would be part of the ongoing Death Rising event.
We understand that not everyone enjoys this kind of gameplay, though keep in mind it’s only active for the week and if you need to visit a capital city without a scourge invasion problem, you’ll probably want to avoid Orgrimmar and Stormwind for now.
For more info about the event, check out the blog post over here:
" you’ll probably want to avoid Orgrimmar and Stormwind for now."
Uhmm aren’t just there. Npc Ghouls made by infected players will attack none pvp players and force them into pvp… Happened two times already in Redridge this morning.
This is not just happening in the 2 capitals. It’s happening every time you change zone. So avoiding Stormwind or Orgrimmar won’t keep you out of PvP.
So far I’ve been flagged on porting to Stormwind, Dalaran (Legion), Boralus and Arathi. I havn’t been interacting with zombies of any kind, so they’re not to blame.
It’s cheaper (development wise) for Blizzard to force players into PvP, than it is to provide actual content.
Thats why.
It also means I am not going to be able to play, wasting 3 weeks of gametime, because I absolutely detest forced PvP. I don’t mind some PvP on my own terms in battlegrounds, but I absolutely detest forced world PvP while I am trying to quest or do other things.
