What does AD think about the following thread I made on general.
Would it help Troll RP flourish? I am someone who likes to Roleplay all the troll tribes (the ones who aren’t extinct yet) even if they aren’t associated with the horde.
But I’ve been wanting the Revantusk for a very long time.
Me ma’da always said life be like a box a’ choc’lates.
It’s really weird how the revantusk didn’t get lore followup, being part of the Horde for many years and relatively recently getting decent customization options.
It’s also from TBC and with the exception of the voodoo mask, which I might add they wear quite poorly since half of their face sticks through it, they can’t wear any head items. So making forest trolls playable with their bulky model would require an entirely new model, we would at best probably just get a skin for regular torlls.
They claimed Jintha’Alor in the name of their tribe and the Horde and I am dying to know how it played out.
For the troll community to get back on track, we need people that will be invested into their characters for more than a week.
In BFA we were a lot, but towards the end it started to die out and now I believe we are a handful with the Primal Pact being the largest troll guild. I won’t mind people to rp forest troll if it makes sense. Aka no Amani in Horde cities etc. Though I hope that one day Dazaralor will become an active troll hub again.
Totally. I have the intention of roleplaying a Revantusk if I want to be horde aligned
If I want to be hostile to both factions, then I would RP a Amani
But having the option to receive the big body for males will open up amazing rp, not just for the forest trolls but also the ice trolls. You can use the big body and choose the blue skin the Darkspear already have, and you got yourself a ice troll.
So many options, and all it requires is one body. A body that already exists in-game ( the BFA model for Amani NPC’s, which is also used by Ice troll male NPC’s in Zandalar.
But it gets tiring over the years. High elves had to Roleplay themselves using the human model and night elf model for many years until they were introduced through customizations in shadowlands. This helped their RP be more authentic.
I don’t mind roleplaying a Revantusk as a Zandalari, but would rather see Blizzard do an effort to add them some day, like they did High elves.

That model is from this patch, before then forest trolls either used a custom model from Alpha / Vanilla or a green skinned jungle troll model. https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Qeeju
This is one of the few forest trolls to still use the latter.
Nonetheless, as people have said it just takes people to push the initiative and try things out and I understand that if you’re using a normal DS Troll model or a Zanda model it throws you off.
I felt the same when they refused to give us Elves proper haircuts and beards
Just give it a whirl and hopefully when you state in your TRP that you’re a forest troll others can follow up with that.
Though I’m more interested on your plans going forward, what is it you look to do with such a character? If you follow the Amani root there’s really not much leeway for you to create a group to RP with outside of the Primal Pact or another Zulian group that’s just popped up iirc.
If you follow the Revantusk way →
You’ll have more chance of getting what you want from a character as groups and people are more ‘free’ so to speak to interact with you!
It could always be an Amani that’s garbed and dressed up as a Revantusk he slain but, again it goes with the whole what’s the purpose part.
I’m planning on roleplaying a Revantusk to show not all Forrest trolls are hungry for blood of…. Bloodelves (pun intended)
Rather, he wants to forgive old enemies and focus on fighting with the horde to glorify the old days when Amani allied with the horde. Plus he saw how the Darkspear, a group of bullied trolls prospered under the horde and want to take such example to better his people’s future.
The character is proud of his forest troll culture, and proud of their history. He can do that while fighting for the horde at the same time. He wants to be a better example, showing that they neva forget, but they do forgive. Something the Amani disagrees with, but the Revantusk agrees with.
The horde helped the Revantusk prosper in the Hinterlands, and he is returning the favor.
I’ve always been a fan of trolls in general, but Forrest trolls always had a soft spot in my heart. Especially since they are very similar to blood elves in some ways. They even own Dragonhawks and Lynxes.
Plus I have the Amani Warbear mount ready to use for Roleplay
