[Forum] How do you delete a thread/have it locked?

You can’t delete a thread - when you try your advised to flag it and provide a reason. However none of the flags match “I’d like my thread deleted/locked” and the few I’ve tried do no let me provide a reason as advised.

So… how do?

Replace the text of your OP with hate speech (do not actually do this).

I dunno, is this a thing we can actually do? I’ve never started a new thread. Do you get that rubbish bin icon like if you post in someone else’s thread? Or is that what you meant by “when you try”?

It’s my own thread, when I try to click the trash bin icon I am greeted by a popup with the text

I’ve tried 2 & 3 but they do not let me specify a reasoning, - I’d rather not try 1&4 because I’m fairly sure that would get me suspended on my battle.net account.

the bin icon appears and if you click it you get following message pop up:

You can’t delete a thread, even your own, because that is an admin/moderator function and rightly so.

Just remove the text of your OP and replace it with something like “Can a moderator please delete this thread + reason”.

After that they may remove it or not. But regardless of what they do, your thread will be permanently closed in 1 month time if not replied to.

The best option is of course to think before you post anything. Especially when creating a new thread.
