Founding Phase 2 almost impossible to level up

Before phase 2, i found myself exploring, leveling classes i never played before to find out what i enjoyed, explored and i didnt race to 60 as i would have previously. Most of my guild was the same, as we have played for many yrs and re-united over classic tbh. Everyone was online, was great.

Now in Phase 2, if find i am playing less to the point of almost not logging in, my guildies i see are doing the same. I am not crying over this but i wondered how its possible to level, when you have the roaming parties grinding honor in leveling area’s and killing adds that are on the quest items you need to kill? Getting to dungeons is the same thing, nobody is doing them as its a pain to get there.

I tried to understand how i dealt with this in vanilla, then i remembered we had BG’s to go to to help leveling up inside doing PVP, even when you were low levels, low in the bracket of the BG. People were grinding inside BG’s allowing others to also quest up, yes you got ganked still but not by those grinding in parties.

I am not crying about this, and i myself want to type “welcome to classic” but that was not my experience in vanilla, we had BG’s and i wanted to post my feelings here as i will probably be playing a lot less if anything until BG’s are out.

What are the dates or period when BG’s are coming in? As i think i will suspend my account until then, as i see no point in going in game to not level up and no enjoy the game etc, i cant even move 1 character to a PVE server to at least level up, even with my 50min queue time to get in to die.

I am sure i can’t be the only one to feel like this, i would love to discuss it with my guild but they are not staying logged in long enough due to ganking to talk to about it.

P.S i love this game and have done since 2006, but…being ganked all the time and not being able to level, does take its enjoyment out of my time in game, when your not able to level.

3rd night in a row that my guild was all but dead. Pre-phase 2 we had a good 20 or so on at the early hours. Last night it was me and a druid, we decided we would sneak to Silithius and go grind out mobs. We made it, however, it didn’t take long before the roaming pack (why are you even in Silithius at 1am?!) to come find and camp us out. The druid logged and I just logged with my ghost, not very fun. Even in the corners of the world, there is little escape.

I get you Everzz on that, i did consider late night questing but my guildies simply dont want to stay on to die as a lot in their 40’s and 60’s are almost 1 shotting us all.

It will get better when BG’s are out, thats why i wondered when that will come as i dont see point of struggling so bad for what i think will be 4 months of not logging in and still paying for my service.

Have patience my dudes. This will blow over fast.
The honor system is not even one week old. Ofc ppl are going crazy on pvp right now.

Dude… phase 2 isn’t even out for a week yet. People are crying around like they have been trying to get from lvl 23 to 24 for the past 2 months but got ganked everytime they logged in. Of course there will be a bit more excessive ganking. People are happy that they get the real pvp experience back after 13 years of suffering. Let them have their fun for a couple of days. It took me 20 minutes to get from tp to brd, so what. I can laugh about it.

Lol, the way you played the game in phase 1 says you deserve to be ganked.

This isnt hello kitty island adventure, Butters

Guys, level in dungeons. Not only is faster than normal questing usually, it’s probably the only viable way now. My alt is 25, I got a whole level yesterday by doing 2 runs of SFK. If you are a tank or a healer, this is extraordinarily easy. By doing RFC, WC, SFK, RFK, SM (all 4), you are going to be 40-45 without ever stepping in a contested zone. Come on, be creative!

I love this phase, my guild is more active then ever, multiple groups of 10-20 roaming party’s ganking hordes taking over zeppelins and boats. Amazing.

Quit the game if you can’t handle pvp on pvp servers. Or go back retail

I don’t think you get the point, the issue is that people have quit, apart from a very well led raid of 60s on Noggenfodder there is nothing else going on, no dungeons, no groups, not many leveling. This did happen in Vanilla for sure, but at least people could go hide and grind, even that is a real tough ask currently because the lack of enemy and high population on a server means that players are going into the lesser played zones to get Honor.

But because they didnt move server they probably should quit, for the benefit of everyone else.

How does that work? If people have no one to fight then they also quit.

The servers people cry about have too many people. Does not matter who quits.

Yeah, I’m also finding it to be a horrible experience. I’ve gone from playing obsessively to barely logging in at all. I always played vanilla on PvP servers and it wasn’t ever like this. I’m sure it’ll blow over when the BG’s come out. I’ve got 8 days left on my subscription so I’ll resubscribe when the insanity is over.

That is a really weird logic. People aren’t crying per say, I think, least from my perspective, is that it is hard to actually get into the actual world and play the game.

They should cap the servers at the original Vanilla cap, the faction imbalance isn’t an issue that bothers me at all, it’s just stick far too many people into a map that isn’t designed to handle the number.

The faction imbalance is actually exponentially made worse by the massive increase of server population compared to Vanilla:

Let’s say that in both Vanilla and Classic, you have a 40% alliance / 60% horde repartition.

In Vanilla, you had like 3000 players per server, in Classic 15000.

In Vanilla it was then 1200 allies vs 1800 hordies, a difference of 600 players.
In Classic, it’s 6000 allies vs 9000 hordies, a difference of 3000 players.
FOR THE SAME LANDMASS !

Yes, the massive increase in server population makes things exponentially worse.

And this gets even worse the bigger the imbalance is.

My take on this might be a little more subjective than the rest of you.
The start, i mean was pretty neato to see a lot more World PvP going on now, (I play on a high populated PvP server)
The problem that came was if a faction won in numbers against the other, and because of that get to completely control the very camp that they faught over. People who were leveling there get ganked in cold blood, whether or not they’ll get honor from you most of them don’t care (Especially the rogues).

At least my worst take on my questing/raiding/PvP experience is that there is an abundance of horde grouped and ganking random people they happen to come across. At that i got kind of tired doing the quest i was doing and then tried to organize a group for zul’farrak. One big problem came that we had to die like 4-5 times to get there because a horde raid ganking group was set up and blocking our way to the instance.

I was litteraly forced to have to level somewhere else, even with the many quest chains i already was doing on tanaris and Un’goro.
Trying to get to the blackrock dungeon is even worse, there’s so much more ganking there as well you can block people and raids from entering the molten core because the Alliance/Horde gank group has blocked the entrance to it from the gates.

People in menethil can’t even get on the boat because there’s often a raid group just standing on the harbor and blocking us from going to kalimdor at all!

I love PvP don’t get me wrong, but if i litteraly have to die constantly from a raid of level 60’s, can’t go nowhere because the boat’s jammed, level 60’s killing lower levels for fun and camping them for honor or for fun. It ruins my immersion having to deal with dying over and over and over and over from level 60’s just ruining our questing experience to get to higher levels! Makes me mad, makes me sad, and i just take a break until it dies down a little from getting camped.

At least the battlegrounds will have them get honor without having to block boats or zepplins. I think it’s way worse for an alliance to deal with, that’s my take on it anyway.

All of this was known/ to be expected before the release of classic.

Especially when rolling pvp. Look at yourselfs ending up here crying.

lmao everyone crying about rolling on a pvp server. Just reroll if you can’t take a few weeks of abuse.
