Free 3 days gift by Blizzard

I’d just like to say ‘‘Thank you’’ to Blizzard for giving out a free 3-day pass (like a free weekend) to players.

I don’t know the criteria for such a gift but regardless I think it’s a great idea and it should be done on a monthly or so basis.

Let me explain why: Millions of people have invested in this game, hundreds if not thousands of hours, money and sweat. But many have moved on to other games or gave up on ‘‘gaming’’ all-together (especially MMORPG gaming).
By doing this, you will reinvigorate interest in WoW, get good publicity AND perhaps lure some gamers back into WoW.
Free is free. I didn’t want to claim it, but in the end I just did (it would expire otherwise).

Oh, that’s really nice to see. Also good bizness ofc, but still a nice gesture.

Blizzard is the least generous company I can think of! If they give you something don’t imagine for a second that they are being kind. They want you to come back and pay them.

After a year offline I made an account on ptr just to setup my UI and install and config my addons before paying and starting the game. The system must have smelled a potential returning client. Next day I received the 3 days free offer.

I got into the game, and used a 30 days token and then clicked to claim the gift.
message pops up telling me that I can’t use it anymore!

I have also tested their costumer service in the past and would never consider contacting them again!

It’s a marketing scheme. Classic one at that.

That said, I’m all for it. If it does the job of getting more players into this community, then it’s a good thing in my book.

I think it’s great. It’s a nice gesture and a great marketing tool. People get to try for free and see if they want to come back. Some will, some wont.

3 days free is good idea but they generally do at new patches.

3 days free in a month I doubt it.

Holy cow a grateful post in here! :open_mouth: Impossible!

A friend of mine actually came back to the game because of the free gifts. He was in 8.0. We even did heroic uldir together. But he quit and actually came back after a couple of days of 8.2.

I miss you :frowning:

Why are you against having free weekends every now and then? Not every month per say but maybe before holidays or on special occasions ? If anything you should be happy more people join /rejoin the WoW community. God knows it needs fresh blood. Plus it’s just a great marketing strategy.

Completely agree.

It’s a brilliant pr and recruitment campaign.
Other games do it also, including elder scrolls online and other online and offline games.(on steam for example )

Who dis? I don’t miss any horde players. Especially not on draenor , get off my realm

Update: so I logged in did a few warfronts, the new LFR, a bit of random pvp/e for the brawl rewards on a few alts. All in all I had fun because i missed it. Didnt have any addons so i couldn’t do much auctioning that I love doing. The crucible of storms needs a huge nerf to difficulty or increase rewards. 6 stacks of determination to kill first boss…:expressionless:

I think it is players who have stopped recently who will recieve this gift - I remember I recieved it once - 1 year after I stopped playing

I logged in for the 3 days, and logged out afterwards and have never gotten anything like it since :yum:

I haven’t played since February(?) when the boat 6 months sub expired

My friend who’s been unsubbed for 2 months has received it, I however have not (<1 month, was with gold anyway) perhaps some cases are too recent, makes sense.

They need you - come back to them!!! :weary:

But I can imagine they target previous players within a certain time, to get them hooked again.

If you have been away for too long, your interest might have shifted away from WoW

I wonder if they send this gift to ex-WoW players who play other Blizz games
Would they get this gift more than once, or will they get it at all, since they know WoW is close?

Well I got over 5000 hours in WOW :joy: but it’s the first time I get such a gift. …

Truth is I’m kinda scared because it’s kinda an addiction :scream: so I’m just gonna enjoy these 2 days and uninstall again

I suspect it is pure RNG at this point, with a bit of loaded dice mechanics based on some unknown criteria.

But, @OP enjoy the free game time! Use it well

Do you know what I received from ZOS when ESO was down for nearly 3 days? Nothing. No extra days, even though I was subscribed. No pitiful crates. Nothing. Zip.
The actual server uptime on EU in particular with that game is absolutely atrocious, and the forum shows it. Their regular maintenance takes 4 hours or more. Sometimes they bodge it, and it can take even longer. They also do the maintenance during prime time, where WoW is done when you’re probably fast asleep.
So least generous company, you say? No, I don’t think Blizzard wins that award.

Blizzard as a company have a pretty stingy stance, but some individual GMs are lovely in my experience.

Where I’ve interacted with GMs I’ve walked away with some nice stuff occasionally for keeping things cordial with them.

The one that comes to mind is when I was trying to clear up an issue with RAF rewards not working properly when I brought a friend into the game, after discussing with a GM about the issue and how I was originally subbing their account fee until they stabilised a bit the GM in question cleared up the RAF issues and instantly granted said mount rewards and gave me additional 30 days free on top of the RAF free time for apparently being really nice regarding my friend and setting them up in WoW.

oh well now I know why they delayed the last classic stress test

Honestly its pretty normal to activate the 3days which you do prior to logging in before buying a month lmao. It’s your own fault for wasting 3 days free gametime.

Edit: Why did it Copy retri? Blizz pls. Removed that thing.
