Free Character Transfers Now Available For Some Realms

I’ve taken advantage of the free transfer off of Draenor and now moved 3 Horde to Stormscale. First one took around 6 hours, the other 2 took I dunno, maybe around 12 hours or so.

I’ve now initiated a move for most of the rest of my Horde characters from Draenor to Stormscale, another 9 in process, 1 day+ estimated :stuck_out_tongue:

Also took the opportunity to move my 3 x lvl 50 Alliance characters off Draenor, moving them to Outland. Again, 1+ day estimated.

I don’t mind the wait time tbh, so long as the moves go through eventually.

I know people get caught up with the worry about moving from a full pop server like Draenor but things have changed, it’s not like years ago when you’d end up on a dead server with no economy etc.,

You can still group with friends cross realm, the economy on Stormscale is the same as on Draenor. No problems finding groups, no problems making your own groups for stuff. It’s fine, honestly, the server is very high pop, I would say it will actually go full status soon enough.

I moved because I had enough of the queues and lack of stability.

I know it’s a fault with Blizzard, they should’ve just locked Draenor years ago, but I’m not paying to play the game and sit in queue for hours or put up with the awful lag and disconnections.

So, Thanks Blizzard for giving us the option to transfer and also not restrict it to a small amount of servers as options to move too.

My main finally got transfered. I’m bit salty I missed week 1 weeklies for renown etc but whatever…

30+ hours still waiting zZz…

Do you really not understand that there are limitations in the world and that not everything is possible?
How come you don’t understand that you just cannot have billions of people in one server? Can you please respond and explain why you don’t understand that because I’m really curious. Is it possible that you are really just that clueless?

I took the transter 32 hours ago, estimated time started from 1 day+ now it says 1 day 10 hours …

@All: My monk is now down to 20 h 1 min and huntress to 20 h 40 min. And to some posters, yes, I have had odd ups, too, but currently both values are decreasing again.

Why I can move to AD from Draenor, but can’t move to Tarren Mill from Draenor? Both are “Full”.

Imagine being in a 3 day que that helps serve not being in que?

At this point I just hope Blizzard keeps these transfers open long enough for the current congestion to end. Because I would like to move my characters off Draenor but there is no way I am putting them into a transfer that will take 2 days to finish.

mate, when you know your servers are full you just dont let anymore people join them, simple as that,so dont try defending blizzard ,this sh*tshow wouldnt have happened if measures were taken before the release ,even before the pre-patch

I find it interesting with the lack of explanation or clarification in regards to the server migration. We’re told we cannot transfer to other full pop servers, yet you can select them in the transfer option. I started my transfer roughly 28 hours ago at this point. yet nothing new. And now, my mates and are yet waiting. estimated time stated roughly 1 day and 9 hours to start with. Now… we’re at 1 day and 2 hours left…
Could you ATLEAST give an estimate on time the transfer would take PRIOR to people having activated it…

The queue has dropped drastically for Draenor so you should do the transfers now as I think they will be stopping them in the next few days.

The queue will likely shoot right back up when raids are opened in a little over a week.
This aint over yet.

To give my experience:

I moved my main char from Kazzak to Twilight’s Hammer and it just finished.
Total processing time was about 24 hours.
I can confirm with this that the estimated time shown is completely broken as it showed a day waiting time continuously for me, never going lower than 23 hours remaining.

Goodluck to everybody else moving Realms!

In the start the transfers took literally a couple of minutes but only because they weren’t advertised and now that everyone found out people are taking them at once. There is nothing they can do about transfers being overloaded. Just play an alt or classic like you already do.

@All: Woke up too early due to not feeling well and decided to check on my transfers before trying to get more sleep. Both transfers have successfully finished, though Minmay is in for a forced name change, which I will handle later. Time taken for both, more than 20 hours, but less than 29 hours, 15 minutes. Original estimates in earlier post, going back to bed now. Good luck to everyone still “in transit”!

Well from 5pm UK to 9pm UK Friday ,Saturday and Sunday there were ques for me so lucky you

I took the free two-character transfer from Draenor to Some realm (really I forgot which one I selected) at 48 hours ago. I saw how my estimation was changed from 1 day and 3 hours to 6 hours and then I saw how my characters disappeared. Now I didn’t understand what to be is next steps, this process is opaque for understanding…

@Cheesie: If they are no longer on Draenor, the process is finished (or at least should be). If you really can not see them (and can not remember where you sent them), check all other realms, you may have goofed something yourself… :frowning:

Ha-ha its really strange for me when I didn’t see characters in any lists (game, https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/characters).
I checked in each realm and found them.
Thank you
