I am having the same problem lately, and it started to happen after I uninstalled and installed my GPU driver with DDU, and put my RAM, CPU, and GPU on stress test for hours to see if there are any errors. Everything works flawlessly on my end; I have no problem in any other game but WoW.
Yes I have no problem on my end either. Everything works fine but I have noticed that changing a YouTube pod I listen to during game makes my WOW screen to freeze sometimes. It happens instantly when I change to another pod so I am pretty sure it has something to do with the issue.
Alt+tabbing is definitely one of the reasons, and I can recreate.
I also have a second WoW account, which I open sometimes and keep open while I am on WoW1. However, my PC is completely able to handle this task and hasn’t had this problem before,
Something about the game has changed, and it started to happen, I can see that.
Half my guild has freezing issues lately. We all freeze randomly and it’s costing us keys. It mostly happens in dungeons/raids.

Same, random 5 sec or so freezes in dungeons since the patch.

It’s already was reported since S3 patch: Green UI after freeze and was closed after thread “timed out” - how very convenient for support forum.
Small part of this problem related to UI-texture WAS fixed because there is issue tracker for that, but main problem was never fixed and there is no way to reliably track if anybody even working on a fix or not.
