Frequent disconnects also losing internet connection for few seconds, only when WoW is open

Same here. Can’t play more than 1 min till disconnects.
And this happens also depending of the zone where you are. T_T.

EDIT: Maybe this helps, I disabled Details and disconnections stop, till now

That is worth a look actually. i’m in that position too so i guess i’ll be looking for a wi-fi adapter. This really is the last try though, it has been going on for well over a month now and that is totally unacceptable.

Just gonna chime in and say that for the past 4-5 days this issue has been happening to me as well, I’m literally having internet and when I open wow randomly decides to get a huge lag spike and then I have no internet for a few seconds, I wrote a ticket but im only getting an automated response right now. I have talked to my ISP and theres simply no issues with them for me to try to push them to look for non existent problem from their side. I ran a tracelog while it was happening and its seems -

5 — 100/ 100 =100% 100/ 100 =100% pr01.eqfr5.blizzardonline.net [80.81.195.26]

  • This is the issue because its on this rout or whatever that im getting dropped.

I had this issue back in shadowlands while raiding and I paid for a VPN and it completely went away but now i just refuse to have to pay again just to play the game im ALREADY paying monthly.

For anyone having this issue try using a VPN for me it worked back then, but it’s definitely not ISPs problem like they keep referring me to since it seems to be happening all across Europe and looking at NA forums seems to be happening to people there too!

It’s quite shameful that Blizzard hasn’t reponded to this at all. Clearly quite a few players are having this issue but it seems they just don’t even bother to give any feedback.

Edit: I spoke to soon, im back to 11 minute DCs This is just aaaaarghhh

As an update to this, much to my shame, as my husband reminded me, this is a PC/windows so multiple restarts are required after doing literally ‘anything’ (3 Macs and 1 PC, I forget) and although the situation has not completely stopped, what I am encountering now is acceptable. I managed to actually do a few instances without a DC. In fact, during my playing session I only had 2 and I stopped playing because I wanted to rather than it being unplayable. So, despite having absolutely not clue why, it would appear that this does help the situation, if not fix it. Apologies for my initial response which is incorrect!

Well, tried this. I can confirm it does not work. The only thing this has affected is my bank balance.

What (sometimes) fixes it for me is running the game through VPN.
I presume the anti-cheating software is somehow trying to isolate the network traffic, but instead of isolating the traffic only related to the game, it hooks on to the network adapter on some low level, which causes it to go bamboozle and reconnect.

Same problem here. I went full karen mode last week with my internet provider and i see now it s about WoW :open_mouth:

Out of curiosity, which VPN provider did you use and through which country did you try to connect? I have ProtonVPN subscription and I tried using that but it didn’t work.

This has been happening to me since dragonflight s2. It used to be every 2-3 hours, then around a year later it became around every 1.5 hours and since last night it has been happening every 30 minutes. In addition battlenet client seems to disconnect at random times too for a short while.

I have tried wifi and cable, all in game network settings and pc network settings including ipv6 and such, different pcs, routers, addons, etc. Nothing really seems to work. Would love if somebody could explain what causes this, since there are so many mixed respones.

still no blue posts or solutions?

I have been dealing with this problem for years & have scoured the web for an answer multiple times. The issue (for me) is caused by how the network traffic is routed. The only workaround that I have found is to use a VPN. It’s not ideal, extra latency is introduced, though bearable if you find a location with low ms.

I have ran ping tests and left a Broadband Quality Monitor running continuously for 2 weeks & the graph showed zero dropouts from the ISP (Virgin Media UK) & the ping was completely stable. My friend lives on the same street, is with a different ISP & does not have a single problem.

What’s even stranger is that it only seems to happen with certain versions of Virgin Media’s routers. I have a Super Hub 2, I have spoken with others on the forums that have the Super Hub 3 (Which is a notoriously defective piece of equipment) that do not share the same networking problem.

Changing the DNS does not solve the problem. Neither does port forwarding. Even tried the DMZ, nope. Setting a Static IP doesn’t fix it. I even tried putting the router in modem mode and it doesn’t fix it.

The only reason that I haven’t changed ISP/router is due to the fact that every other game runs perfectly fine, and if you know anything about VM or networking, I’m extremely lucky to have such good service & don’t want to open a can of worms for the sake of 1 issue that I can solve with a VPN.

Same here; I can play other games all day; start WOW and at a random time, my wifi drops - then about 5-10 seconds later it reconnects. This repeats ONLY when playing WOW

I find that I am in the same predicament as I was back in August.
Wired connection I’m getting DC after DC unless I use a VPN and then it’s fine.
On a wireless connection I am also fine.
This is only with B.net and WoW, no other game or app do I have this problem with.
My pings inside my network are unmoving, steady and fast. My pings outside to google tend to hiccup whenever I DC.

I don’t have anything more to add, this is just for awareness. I have gone through every step of the troubleshooting networking process on Blizz’s suggestion. I have been speaking with a GM, who was very fast in their response, and while they did suggest to go through some advanced troubleshooting solutions, they did suggest that it could be the way my ISP is communicating with Blizzard servers, which at this point might be the case.

Have’been having this same problem for long time now and been blaming network provider when they don’t find any problem…
I started notice that when i play other games i do NEVER get this 5-10sec network crash.

Only when playing WoW i get random dc’s and sometimes it can be days and weeks everything is fine but when it seems to start it really starts… example raids/dungeons i’m just weight for group as i get frequent dc’s middle of boss’s and in raids it seems to be always at boss’s only…

Blizz wake up there is thousands of players having this same problem… in EU and NA

Country: Finland

Same issue here, I wonder what’s even happening to me. VPN seems to be solving the issue in the meantime, but obviously is not a desirable plate for me since the VPN gets disconnected somehow after a decent amount of time, probably something to do with the anti-cheat, not sure. So, for those who are still why the issue welcome aboard. Hope it helps.

Having same problem 1200 world ms 300ms home but is servers problem

Can confirm that this has continued to go on since TWW Pre-Patch, have tried numerous solutions, from all of the Support Troubleshooting page to using a VPN.
Has been happening across both WoW and D4, last time I was able to play these without issue was the first Plunderstorm and Season 4: Loot Reborn, respectively.
The weird thing is, that if the disconnect is short enough that I can maintain connection long enough without getting kicked out of login, the issue will not happen again for the remainder of that session.

Everyone still having problems? Iv been disconnecting for over a month now, was normally only wow and I could log straight back in but while aoe farming last night I lose connection to wow, bnet and my internet goes off for liek 30 seconds too, not a single issue with any other game and had no problems for 4 months before January

Random DC and frequent WoW crashes. Full random, by standing still in Dornogal or doing M+ keys
