Why hasn’t Fresh Classic WoW been announced yet? We are seeing massive growth on Era servers, largely due to the rise of the hardcore challenge, but also the regular Era servers are massively increasing and i think most of these people, myself included, just want a fresh server.
I quit WotLK 4 weeks in, i quit Dragonflight after playing for 1 week. So here i am, leveling once again on Era, being lvl 42 in tanaris getting ganked by a full naxx geared mage, wishing that i could experience 2019 all over again.
Even Vanilla Private Servers are starting to pop back up seeing tons of interest, and people are putting in the hours despite all the drama surrounding the creator
I’ve been speculating a launch in April for a while now, cus that’s between Ulduar and Diablo4, but i’m starting to lose hope since we haven’t heard a word from Blizzard yet.
I don’t think Blizzard will do fresh Era, all you will get is fresh SoM, with a copy at the end to Era or Wrath (or Cata)

In that case i really hope it’s not gonna be like the first one, imo changing boss encounters and removing world buffs was such a bad change. I didn’t mind the XP buff.
I dont think they should make changes to the game maybe besides the ranking system, they could consider Rated Battlegrounds imo
Classic+ is a whole other topic tho, but i still think that the game should run its course first(even tho i think Naxx gear ruins the game), but so many people would be mad having to wait 12+ months for the “+”
Why would they? A fresh server wold be dead after the first 2-3 months of hype, and then you would just have a fresh dead server.
You highly underestimate how much people love Vanilla
I really love it so much. Being 32 years old and played way back in Vanilla there‘s still not one single game I love as much as I do Vanilla…
Why would you need a fresh era server? The whole point of the era servers is they’re unchanging, you can start at any point as you’re never “behind” because there is no way to be “ahead”. The goalposts are unmoving/unchanging.
There is a strange appeal to starting over on a fresh server where everyone has to start fresh. Current era servers being free from the rat race and ‘deadlines’ is great, but some like those goals.
Now for most people, myself included, this attraction will end after a week or 2 and it’s back to existing servers. For the first time I’m grinding rep for that winterspring mount as i can do it at my own pace. It’s great.
It isn’t enough. If classic community will split between fresh and constant era there will be too little players in both. I agree with dwarf above: current state is calm game without server transfers from dead servers crying, without racing.
Fresh classic will be abandon in 2-3 month and people will just return to constant classic era. Most people don’t want to start over and play in haste again
I always argue fresh is good for Era as SoM was good for us in the long run.
But people forget quickly that SoM was a BIG fiasco in terms of player numbers.
Also, this time around I believe a lot of people will think twice: 1. Start fresh and subject yourself to the meta rat race or 2. Start on Era at your own tempo and enjoy the game at your pace.
If anything, we are getting more Vanilla options which is great.
I started playing on an Era realm few weeks ago and I don’t see where the problem is. Era seems really fun to play. Why make even more low pop servers and split the community even further.
Good question. Era is some next level cope, maybe it’s cool for people that didn’t play Classic? I already have geared characters and don’t see the point, there’s also not very many people playing, especially outside of prime time. Wrath is really terrible and I can’t wait for it to end so people can go back to playing a good expansion (Vanilla), maybe then Era will be good? But I think we need fresh servers for a true resurgence.
How is Era it next level cope?
The same can be said for what you described → Always wanting moar because nothing ever satisfies your animal instincts is next level cope. Because by definition, you need to cope with that insatiable appetite for FrEsh. Wouldn’t you agree?
I am having fun playing era, its not copium. Nobody is asking you to come join. So why the judgment? Is it not you, in fact, that maybe needs to cope with something?

I dont think any of us should slam on either or, i think we can all agree that we love vanilla, just in different content patches.

The cope is that Era is alive, which is what people claim. Like good luck getting anything done outside of the 4 or so hours of prime time. I mean Era is nice for retired people and the kind that enjoys very small populated servers where everyone knows everyone and bla bla bla, but your average player would want something else, as you saw in Classic most people chose to play on the big servers.
I couldn’t care less about that tbh.
